Brought my Toyota Highlander in for an estimate. Estimate was $1400 so I gave the OK and dropped it off on Monday morning. Work was supposed to take 3 days, so I called on Wednesday to ask what time I could pick it up. They had not even started the work and now the estimate almost doubled to $2400+. Told them no way and picked the car up Wednesday at lunchtime. They never called to tell me about the increase nor that they hadn't even started the work. read more

This is the best place in the area for auto body. Gregg will do a meticulous job on anything and he is reasonable. I used him for decades but then my insurance company made a contract with Swartout which is equally good. But I would probably rather go back to Gregg because he is less expensive than any other shop. read more

I had rust on the frame rails of my 2008 Cadillac CTS. No one in the immediate vicinity would even look at the car and the one that did was priced so high I considered just buying another car. Greg agreed to take on the job. I was given a firm date for drop off and he finished the job 2 days before predicted. He took photos to show me what he had completed. He even fixed the drivers side that wasn't quite as bad as the passenger side and didn't charge me any more than his original quote. Wow! Better than before!! I am the second owner for my Maserati. The dealer did a quick repaint of the bumper (I am told this is common for scratches etc) but there was some orange peel texture and it was a little dark compared to the body color. I would have lived with it/not actually noticed had my kid not thrown some sports equipment at the car and caused a gash in the bumper repainted clear coat. Greg was great, said the previous job wasn't strong so he would fix it all. Greg's color match was SO much better! Finish was glassy. I did get other estimates but Greg and Jodi run such a professional office and estimate procedure, I felt most comfortable with them. Pricing was pretty competitive as well. thankfully my first accident was a small one, but i got in a small fender bender on the way to the city. my friend took me to greg's on a tuesday. we went in and jodi was very welcoming. not even a minute of coming into the office greg came out of the garage like he knew he was expecting us haha but he took a look at my car and was very informative with me on what he needed to do in order to repair my car. we went back to get an estimate and it was a pretty reasonable price for him to replace the panel. throughout the week jodi let me know how the progress was going. exactly a week later my car was ready for pick up just like what they told me the day i brought it in. my car looks as if nothing happened! they even washed it and cleaned the inside before i left. i am beyond happy with the results! i will definitely bring my car back in the future! read more

I've lived in the neighborhood for about 14 years and never really notice this little shop right off the highway. Well, when my sister backed into my friends car and busted out his headlight, I had the opportunity to give it a try. First off, met Greg, great guy - Greg's wife...well...maybe she was just having a bad day but she did not make checking on my car pleasant and she did not call back when she said she would! Minus one star. On the brighter side, the estimate was quick - two guys immediately came out to my car, gave it a look and talked to me about what I wanted to have done - I received an estimate on the spot and was able to bring it back the same day to get started on the work. The estimate was the cheapest I had received in the area which made me a little leery but since it was a neighborhood establishment and I saw my high school mascot on the back of the owners car, I decided to give it a shot. Since the car in question wasn't mine and my friend was due back in town shortly, I made it very clear (through numerous phone calls and visits to the shop) that I needed the car back ASAP. Neither Greg nor Mrs Greg made any guarantees but sure enough, three days later, there she was shiny and new......and cleaned from the inside out! The cleaning was probably the best surprise!! Moral of the story: if your sister crashes your friends car and you need to get it fixed in a hurry, before he gets back in town, take it to Greg's! read more

I initially took my car to Greg's Autobody for an estimate and repair, and I could not have been treated better. Greg himself came out and looked at the car, and his wife (Jodi) gave me a ride home after my accident. It is incredibly apparent they place a value in their work, craftsmanship, and values that are lost with the "bigger" guys across the street and in the next town over. While I didn't end up using Greg's Autobody, it was purely because of a separate insurance issue. Based on my experience though, I was very reluctant to have to switch shops. read more

Used them to straighten one door and replace the panel on another. When I got the car back, the door couldn't be opened from the inside -- latch not connected. Also, the trailing edge of the door with the new panel looked sloppy -- both metal work and paint. Also poorly aligned.I brought the car back and complained. The shop agreed and said they would "fix everything." When I picked it up, the latch was fixed, but the poor paint and metal work remained. By then, we needed to use the car again, so I let it go. That was a year ago, but every time I see that door it still bothers me. Ironically, the door they straightened turned out fine. read more

I've been using Greg's for about ten years. I've had two Land Rovers, two Mini Coopers, a Honda and now a BMW. Whenever I've needed body work I first take the car to Knauz, the dealership where purchased the cars, and then to Greg's, , located just across Rt. 176 from Knauz. Without exception, Greg's is half the price. Recently I had a friend suggest an auto body repair shop in North Chicago. Again, Greg's was half what this shop quoted me ($900 vs $1800). I just picked up my car and it is pristine. When I arrived to pick it up ( it was finished a day earlier than promised) Jodie called Greg to ask him to drive it to the parking lot. His response was that everyone was too dirty, so she walked back and drove it out to me. Then Greg walked out to talk to me to make sure everything was ok.
