In my room lay a leather wristlet which remained unused for a year because I prefer a shoulder strap, but then I recently thought to bring it to Ace since I've seen luggage being repaired at the shop. I noticed the leather tassel decoration on the wristlet and advised the owner that he could manipulate the extra leather decoration to fashion into a longer strap. After examining the wristlet and listening to my suggestions, the owner was able to provide a solution. The finished product has enabled me to finally make use of the gift given to me awhile ago. I'm very satisfied with Ace and the quality of work for the cost. I would recommend Ace for your leather repair needs.

I had 2 bags for repair, one to be sewn, the other to fix the zipper fastener. Total price $20.00. Returned within the hour as told, he increased the price to $25.00. Says he had to replace the zipper fastener. DAH...I gave him $10.00, offsetting the deposit of $10.00 left. Also, when I had arrived earlier, he quoted a price of $35.00 to repair a zipper on a luggage. I had planned to bring it back on another day. FORGET IT. I went to Another shoe repair shop in the parking lot at Metuchen Train Station, was given a price of $10.00 to repair the luggage zipper by hand. This second shop, repurchased his shop a few years ago. He also has a shop on Main St. Woodbridge. This guy exudes INTEGRITY. The owner of Instant Shoe is a sleazy man, with no semblance of customer service. He comes across as a "street thug" and crooked. He's NASTY and MEAN. STAY AWAY.

The cuff around the ankle was a little too loose and Ben, being the expert that he is, took the whole thing apart, shortened them and put them back together. My Calvin Klein boots were in good condition minus needing new heel lifts. I dropped them off and…read morereturned the next day only to find Ben's Shoe Repair had damaged my boots to the point I had to throw them out. When I politely asked the older man working there what happened to my boots pointing out the green/yellow color now on the boots and asking why was the back ripped as I didn't have these rips before when I dropped them off. He quickly became very nasty. He said he only put lifts and doesn't know what I'm talking about. An older woman appearing to be his wife walks in and she too becomes very nasty telling me to not come back and to leave. Are you seriously treating a customer like this?! I asked a question nicely which is my right especially in light of the damage. This man and woman immediately became nasty and rude. I'm a paying customer whose boots were damaged by their shop yet they are angry! The lack of care and the way she told me to leave I saw pure evil in both of them. Why become so nasty and defensive unless you're guilty of something. I remained composed and polite despite the way they spoke to me! I know and they know they damaged my boots. My boots were not looking like this when I dropped them off less than 24 hours before I picked them up, to now see excessive wrinkles in the leather, green/yellow polish smeared on the boots and rips in the exact same spots on the back of each boot which points to some type of machine ripping off the leather. They didn't once try and rectify the situation or even admit what they did or apologize. Only guilty people become defensive when asked a question. I know, they know, and God knows what they did. I unfortunately had to throw my favorite boots away because of the damage they did to the boots, and to think I paid money to them, only to get boots back looking like this! If you go there I recommend taking pictures and video before you give them any of your shoes! I wish I had taken photos/video of my boots before because then I could take them to court and report them to the local news for what they did! I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had this experience with this shop. Pure evil people. However, it's in God's hands as he's all seeing.

When they arrived, I tried them on and was so disappointed they were too tight. A friend recommended this place to stretch the shoes so I brought my shoes here about 5 days ago. The man in the store told me it would be ready by Friday but I didn't get around to picking them up until today. I tried them on and they fit perfect!!! So a lightbulb went off in my head. I'm thinking if I fall in love with some shoes online and they don't have it in my size....maybe I can order a size lower. This place would be perfect to stretch them to my size! :-) Parking is horrible. You may have to find a spot a couple of blocks over and walk. Despite that, I highly recommend this place.
