Last week, during a service project in rural Costa Rica, in 85 to 90 % humidity, I shoveled, moved dirt and rocks, mixed concrete, moved cinder blocks, stacked building supplies, and other wo-manual labor. I don't know why I didn't. I guess it's hard to muster up the courage to get up and go when you are laying unclothed face down on a table. I didn't think it was such an extensive injury and kept waiting for my body to heal itself, until it became unbearable for me to even move.
