The other downside is there is no wear to sit down. They have all the seating roped off for sections. Save your money and go somewhere else. The location can't be beat in beautiful weather, which was definitely the case Saturday evening. I met friends for dinner, and we had a great time. We sat outside on the patio that overlooks the park along the Waterway. A live band was entertaining the large crowd below, and we enjoyed it, as well. The hostess and servers were very friendly and welcoming. Service was efficient and excellent. Where they lost a star is the food. First I have to say the Old Fashioned cocktails were fantastic! The queso was delicious, but the charcuterie board was hit and miss. We didn't finish it. We all felt that our entrees (2 filets, a steak frites and crab cakes) were okay. Good enough to eat, but not sure we'd order them again. My steak was actually a tad tough although the temperature was exactly as ordered. Warning: Long post - but worth the read. Last night, I went out with friends and we started at Mahoney's. At some point, I mentioned I'd never been to The Rose Rooftop & Restaurant, so we decided to check it out. Before we went, my friend warned me, saying, "Be careful, they like to overcharge for drinks or automatically add a tip. Always ask for a receipt before tipping." She shared that the last time she went, they called them out on it, and her friend was kicked out under the excuse that he was drunk, when he wasn't. So we go to Rose Rooftop, and I order a drink. I ask the bartender for a receipt and she tells me, "We don't have paper receipts." Since I had no way of knowing if a tip was already included, and I'm a good tipper! I didn't leave a tip. All she had to do was show me a receipt. Then my friend orders drinks from a different bartender. Her total should've been $40, but they charged her $60, and again, refused to give her a receipt. We were annoyed, but decided to shake it off and enjoy the music. Later, I go back and order three drinks. I ask the bartender how much each drink is, she says $16. I told her they were $12 earlier, with her ( pointing at the other bartender), so I get in line with the bartender who charged $12. Then I notice the one who said $16, walk over to the bartender who charged $12 price and whisper something. We decide not to buy drinks then a security guard walks up to us and tells us we need to leave. I ask why. My friend says, let me guess, we are too drunk, he responds, yes. She asks, "Do we look drunk?" and he said, "yes". For the record, we were totally sober and in no way rude. We had one drink each at Mahoney's. But just like my friend said before... we questioned their sketchy pricing and tipping practices, and suddenly we're being kicked out. So yeah, exactly what happened to my friend's friend before, happened to us too. We were on to them, and they didn't like that. Just a little FYI: if you go to Rose Rooftop, watch your receipts (if they'll even give you one), and don't be surprised if you get kicked out for calling out shady behavior. I wish I could leave a review on my time at Rose, but unfortunately the bouncer, Ty, was extremely rude when entering we didn't even end up going in. We went to celebrate my friend's birthday and were greeted with an extremely aggressive , rude, and disrespectful bouncer who told us to "shut up" while we were talking with him. He ended up making my friend cry on her birthday night which caused us to alter our plans completely and go to somewhere new. I was able to get to experience their first ever brunch. I have been here before at night for drinks and had a really good time, and I was very impressed with the brunch. The ladies and gentlemen working were very accommodating and really were open to suggestions , and additional feedback. The restaurant was beautifully set up and I learned that they also do other evens as well! The food options were delicious, I had the most amazing waffles, and the drinks were very well made! I attend concerts at Cynthia Woods pretty often. And when I do, rather than sitting in parking forever to wait to get out, I'll enjoy a drink or two in the Waterway District. If you hear music blaring as you walk down the street, it's typically from Rose Rooftop. As the name is a dead giveaway, Rose is a rooftop and I love rooftops. They often have a DJ playing on the rooftop too. Sometimes it's packed and sometimes it's not. It really depends on the day of the week. The drinks are pricey compared to other bars in the area. If the rooftop isn't your scene, there's another level with an indoor bar and some patio seating. Music is typically blaring here too and you'll probably see some people dancing. The patio is a little more chill. read more

As a guest at the Westin, I am not impressed with the loud bass music which keeps the guests awake. Definitely not following the city noise ordinance. We walked outside at 1:45 am and didn't even have to cross the street to feel like we entered Daytona Beach spring break. We just arrived to our Open Table 6:30 reservation. No one greeted us - and it definitely looked like a private event. We finally found someone who appeared to work there. We mentioned are reservation and she looked quite annoyed - as if it was our fault for showing up to our reservation. No apology, no I'm sorry this happened. Instead she was rude and basically told us we could eat on the wet patio or leave. I'm not someone who leaves negative reviews. I understand that people are usually just doing their best. But this person needs to learn a little bit about customer service, especially when the mistake was clearly the restaurant's fault and not ours. Tried to go tonight. Online said they open at 5pm on a Friday (main rose rooftop website, Facebook, google and also yelp). Wanted to see the sunset over the waterway. Go there and doors were locked, nobody there. We called and it went straight to voicemail. Go back at 7pm and was "greeted" (if you call it that) by two people saying they aren't open until 8pm (bartender and guy taking trash out). We waited outside until a few minutes after 8pm. Walked in at 8:05pm and was told they "aren't open until their bar/beer was stocked". We were told to go downstairs and wait (after we had already waited a hour) but walked into the doorway and nobody helped us. We decided to leave after this. Please read the reviews before you go to this place. I had been here a few years ago when I was visiting the Woodlands, and now that I live here, I thought why not go back. We just wanted to grab a few drinks so we went in, the stairway wasn't very inviting, smelled weird but whatever. When we walked in the hostess wasn't at the door but walked to us and sat us outdoors upon request. There were a few other groups outside but the place was mostly empty, yet for 15 minutes we didn't receive any service. There was a server who was going in and out but he did a very good job avoiding eye contact with us. It just felt so weird, so we left. THIS PLACE SCAMS PEOPLE! They literally stole from me and my entire bachelorette party!! We were a party of 6 eating dinner, our waitress was super cracked out on some sort of drugs or pills. Long story short she skipped through all the steps on the kiosk where you pay, added herself a 20% tip, doubled what we got on our tabs (and drew food items, and drinks that were never ordered) and only showed the tip screen with no total, then told us she couldn't give any receipts. We thought it was sketch and checked our bank account and was shocked. We went to her and explained what happened and she said she couldn't give our money back or give us any receipts. The ambience is lovely. When we first arrived we were greeted at the front and told it was self seating. We opted for patio dining. we waited about 15mins before I had to go to the bar and ask for a server. There was 1 other party on the patio that was being served so it's not like no one knew we were sitting there. Our waiter was great and we had no issues. Drinks were fantastic, and the crab cakes were amazing. Had the steak for dinner and it was cooked perfectly. My only complaint was my asparagus as I wasn't a fan of the flavor nor cut served. where do i even start with this place, the bartender didn't even know what drink i ordered i had to order something she only knew and the drinks were wayyy to overpriced for the small cup they gave you, then if you wanted a hookah you had to look for your OWN table and then they take forever to bring you your hookah and that price was also way to overpriced. Some people were nice, but when you go into the bathroom, in 2 minutes people are already banging the door for you to get out. Some people just have no decorum and not educated right to wait a couple of minutes. Mind you there's a way better bar below that one has way better music, everyone there was way nicer and the drink were way better the server were very nice and people were actually dancing. We didn't even finish out hookah because the guards with one brain cell were being aggressive and putting their hand on everyone to get out of the bar. 50 DOLLARS FOR SOMETHING THEY DIDNT EVEN LET US FINSIH!! such a bad experience here. mind you the place was empty with plenty of with servers standing around just talking to each other. We had a table of about 12 with one waitress who had a very standoff ish vibe to her. when the food FINALLY arrived it was cold and she didn't know who ordered what with most orders with the wrong sides in which she was then saying "oh we ran out of that side" basically just eat your cold not what you ordered food. after the bill came, we noticed a already included 18% gratuity in which the waitress said "oh that's not the tip, that is for the kitchen staff & wanted an additional 18%! needless to say I'll NEVER give this place my money again! The only thing this place has going for it is the decor, very cool backdrops and nice looking. oh and to top all this off one of our friends never even got her food.
