About five or so miles out of Manor on FM-973 lies this large well tended to cemetery. The first…read morething that struck me as odd was the fact that there are no trees on the property. This appears to still be an active cemetery as there are some recent burials here from the last few years and the most recent interment was from August 20, 2022. There's still plenty of room for more. Despite being surrounded on all sides by farmland, there is a new development in the area. This is a well laid out orderly graveyard with many family plot areas. Many of the names found on these stones are of German, Austrian and Swedish descent. There is no parking lot, but there is a gravel road perimeter that runs around the property. There is a decent size covered structure on the property capable of holding funeral services. There are a few graves from the late 1800s, but the majority are from the 20th-century. Two things I did not find are a Texas historical sign, and there were no CSA designated service member graves. Nor did I find any Woodmen of the world markers which are common in this area. I also saw no graves dedicated to the Pfluger or Boatright familys. If you desire to make this your forever home, you'll most likely have to contact the New Sweden Lutheran Church located in the vicinity, but not near the cemetery. Apparently, viewing your loved one prior is optional and at the discretion of the funeral home. Not likely. Once your loved on arrives at the cemetery the casket cannot be opened. The program includes seeing the closed casket for 20 minutes at the Travis County Wells School Cemetery Pavilion. You must leave the property during internment for 1hr to 1hr 1/2. They will mark the grave with a stake with the deceased persons name written on it until a small name plate is placed upon the concrete right next to their grave. If you have no options, just be prepared for what to expect.

For an extremely cost effective way to handle final expenses, we didn't feel like we were getting sub par service; far from it. She said that was their pricing policy. When I told her to put them back in the box she said I would not be refunded. Way to rip off grieving families when they aren't thinking straight. I also did not appreciate the fact that they don't invite you to come inside. Instead, they're just going to hand me everything through my car window. It's like I'm picking up something from a store. Very disappointed. It can't be because of Covid. It's January 2023.

Ellen takes excellent care of the grounds, information, and families. The information that animals are buried in this wooded park is openly advertised so it stands to reason that if you purchase a plot in an area where animals may be buried, you may expect to have an animal buried near your plot. This burial park is so peaceful and lovely, I purchased my plot today.

I called around to get some quotes on having a photograph printed on a porcelain memorial piece which is then afixed to the headstone. They were definitely the most reasonably priced, but I was surprised that this service is close to the $300 mark (some places wanted more). Normally it would be a little more because they'll carve out a spot on the headstone and afix it for you, but I just needed to get it to go and take it with me out of state. Just so you know, this service takes about a month to do. There's also one other unique thing you'll find here. In the back of their parking lot are five different food trucks to choose from. They are not very visible from Burnet Road and they do have some outdoor seating as well. Plenty of photos to get you acquainted.
