This early 20th century cemetery was once in the countryside, but now it is surrounded on all sides…read moreby local businesses and literally sits next to the newly built H-E-B parking lot in Georgetown. At the entrance closest to H-E-B you'll find a very detailed layout of the cemetery which will provide you with lots of information. The entire cemetery seems to have a randomly laid out pattern of headstones and markers with some family plots, but mostly just individual markers. Many headstones found here are cast in concrete instead of granite. As the sign at the entrance points out, there are many unmarked graves as well which are primarily former slaves and other African-Americans. Most of the graves have long since been forgotten about, but there are still quite a number of newer graves that are well tended by family members. The grounds are mowed, but there are quite a number of headstones in a state of disrepair. Some of the headstones have been repaired and some still lie on the ground. As the plaque says, these graves belong to many of the early pioneers, of whom many died young. Many of these headstones belong to people in their 20s. The cemetery is probably just slightly larger than an acre and there are unmarked graves located here. The unmarked graves are marked with simple white crosses. If you're interested in local history, this is a point of interest.

This is a small family cemetery located about 200 yards south from busy US 79. It is a very small…read morefamily plot about 40 x 60' square with two large oak trees in the middle. In the middle of this cemetery is a Texas state historical marker made of pink granite. It is dedicated to Major Robert McNutt who was the commander of the Texas forces at the battle of San Jacinto. Almost all of the 20 or so graves are from the late 1800s. There has been some effort to repair some of the broken headstones, but a little more work needs to be done. Like most cemeteries of this period, there were some infant graves. I also found three markers of unknown graves. This cemetery is slowly being surrounded on all sides by new construction. It would not surprise me if at some point in the future it is relocated. Definitely some local history to be found here.

This is an older graveyard from the 1800s and the graves are laid out somewhat randomly. One nice thing about this cemetery is that there is a group of dedicated volunteers who keep it manicured and clean the headstones. This is no longer an active graveyard, as the newest graves are from the 1930s. Like many cemeteries from the 1800s, sadly many of the graves belong to infants and children. As a matter of fact, of all those buried here, I could only find 3 people over the age of 60. If you're into historical places, then this may be a point of interest for you. This is a fascinating historical cemetery that is located on a small single gravel road that is…read moresurrounded by fields. There are some new homes being erected less than a mile away (Brooklands subdivision). The one thing that was noticeable about the cemetery is the fact that it has been well cared for and many of the headstones have been cleaned. There is also a Texas historical sign with some great information concerning this cemetery (pictured). The cemetery that sits on about 1 to 2 acres on a gently rolling hill with a fenced perimeter. The majority of the graves are from the mid1800s on up and there are a couple of newer graves, one is from 2021. Like many of the cemeteries from this time period, sadly many of the graves are those of children. Within the space you'll see some historical names, such as Hutto. This is definitely a cemetery worth visiting if you're into such things, however, I'd recommend an off-road vehicle to get to it. After publishing this I realized that Yelp maps got the location wrong. The location is almost 2 miles away from where they say it is. You actually have to take County Road 163 until it dead ends at the cemetery which is nothing more than a single lane dirt road. I believe that Google maps has the better location.

It is directly behind the Palm Valley Lutheran Church which is a historical building. All the graves are very well laid out and ordered primarily into family burial plots. There are acres of old headstones , recent ones and some waiting to be interred in their future plot. There is a single paved lane that runs through the center of the cemetery dividing the old and the new graves. I'm sure many of these headstones belong to the Who's Who of Round Rock and local history. This is still an active cemetery and I found several recent graves from 2022. There is also more room for additional plots on the back side should you decide this is the place to be your forever home. The church had a historical marker, but I did not see one for the cemetery. The pictures in this review don't fully capture just how beautiful this place is.

This cemetery was obviously established back in the late 1800s because today it sits on some very…read morevaluable real estate. In other words, when this graveyard was established, I 35 was probably a two lane dirt road with horse and buggies going back and forth. Today it literally sits on the northbound feeder road of I 35 and the corner of Dean Keeton with thousands of cars rushing by. It has two points of entry along the feeder road with a gravel road running through the middle of the cemetery linking both of them. It is at least 3 to 5 acres in size and there are hundreds of headstones. Much of the cemetery is organized into family plots with their surrounding borders. The cemetery could use some work, as the grass was unmowed, the trees looked really scraggly, the entrance gate was broken off and there were a number of toppled headstones. There are quite a number of graves from the late 1800s, but the majority are from the early 20th century. I spotted quite a number of woodmen of the world headstones, which are quite common in this area. There may be some notable names interred here, but I did not spot any. There are a handful of graves that have been visited in the last few months, but it's quite clear that many have long since been forgotten. I did spot a few graves from the early 2000s up to 2019, but nothing from the last year or two. Plenty of photos included to peak your interest.

Sandwiched between Round Rock and Georgetown in the countryside along County Road 110, you'll find…read morethis cemetery. It sits on about 3 acres and is oddly divided between the older headstones on the south side and the newer ones on the north side with an expanse of land in the middle. Right next-door is a camper and boat storage facility. The property is relatively well cared for, although many of the older headstones really could use a good cleaning. There is a Texas historical sign on site which speaks of the Swedish settlers in the area. This makes sense since many of the headstones reflect the language. One thing that I found odd was there were our family plots covered in pea gravel laid out, but they are unclaimed. For that matter, virtually the entire cemetery is laid out in square family plots in an orderly manner. One name that stood out here, was the name Bergstrom, which reminds me of Austin's airport namesake. The newest internment that I could find was from 2025 and there is plenty of space still available. One thing that was conspicuously missing from the newer markers were small oval porcelain photographs of the deceased cemented to the headstones.
