Just had Rose City Paving (who did my driveway originally,) seal coat my driveway and they did an excellent job for a good price. Highly recommended, they came and did the work, cleaned up there stuff and left cones in front of the driveway for the night. They stopped by the next morning, checked in with us and made sure we were happy with there work (which we are), and grab there cones and were on there way. Happy customer here!! read more

Through a decade of working with dozens of contractors and subs, this is a new level of unbelievable! They sent staff out to carefully measure and photograph the site, we agreed on a price, signed a contract including the full scope and cost with all the details lined out (photo attached). The owner himself (John I think) shows up today with a skid steer, tore our driveway and parking area to a dusty mess, walked up to me and said he couldn't finish the job for the agreed price, and asked for $8k more, saying he'd leave if I didn't pay it or that he would come back in the winter when business is slower and he can "make more money on the job"! I've attached the contract and photos of the mess he left (the driveway was decent gravel with very little dirt or dust before he mangled it). I even offered to give him a couple grand more to finish the job as promised, but that wasn't enough! He complained that I had negotiated the price and so it's my fault and the contract isn't valid! Now I've got another half dozen subs pushed back on a complex timeline. This is costing me thousands of dollars extra and weeks of time that I don't have. I also see I'm not the first one he's done this to. Read the bad reviews and you'll see the same pattern. John was also kind enough to explain to me that a "real man" would not sue him. In my book, a "real man" does what he committed to do, even if it's less profitable than he hoped. In 20 years of running businesses, I've filed one lawsuit. This will be the second! read more

This morning, Rose City Paving paved our horrible, muddy, potholed driveway. They did a beautiful job; it was abundantly clear that they took pride in the quality and craft of their work with a nice, thick, well-pounded layer of gravel followed by a nice, thick, smooth layer of asphalt with neat, solid edges. They also worked quickly, neatly, and efficiently, without getting in each other's way. I am thoroughly delighted with the job they did and would happily recommend their work. read more

Boring Oregon .. Around 2006 I had Rose City pave my parking lot which was about 50,000+ sf. It was suppose to be 3" thick and no less than 2". After a few years there were cracks and eventually crumbling in some areas. I asked Rose City for an estimate to repair the hole and to seal the Parking lot. They said to do the repair would be $16,000 (20' x 30' area) and to seal the parking lot would be $14,000. I was a little shocked. So I went over to the property and dug up the rubble in the worst area. The asphalt was only about 1" thick!!! I wanted to get some more years out of the lot before I would repave, so I purchased $300 worth of Asphalt patch, crack sealer and asphalt sealer with the tools to do it by hand. I am 67 years old and with about 4 hours of hard work I was real glad we are able to get a few more years out of the parking lot. I am sure it is not as professional as they would of done, but I did not spend $$30,000 to do it either. I E-Mailed them with pictures and informed them that the asphalt they had laid back in around 2006 was only about the thickness of my 1" Band-Aid to give then an opportunity to answer. I got zero back. They are a big company, but for the little guy, like me, they skimped on the asphalt thickness and thus is causing me a big expense... When with the additional inch, that should of been laid back then, It would of lasted another 15 years. Sorry guys, I posted this on your facebook and you deleted it right away. read more

They told me in March that they would be here on a the 7th of July when the weather was warm. Then, on July 5th they told me they could not get their truck up the hill (others do it all the time). So, I wasted 4 months because they could not check the address to see if they could do the job. VERY disappointing. I think they were busy and wanted out of the project but did not have the decency to inform me. I Do NOT recommend this company. read more

To me integrity is one of the most important characteristics of a contractor. A few months after Rose City put in our gravel RV pad, the 32K lb RV sank through the grave due to the geologic conditions of the property. True to their warranty they came out, solved the problem expending more man-hours than the original job. Hassle free. read more

Not a place I would take my business. Rude office staff, even worse contractor. Zero stars.

Warning! Don't be scammed. RCP said they would put down 2-1/2" of asphalt paving. The contract was written for 2" MINIMUM. RCP put down as little as 1". It did not drain properly because of their scam. They fought it all the way to court. Oregon DOJ has fined this company $5,000 in the past for claiming they had "extra" asphalt to sell a job. According to a review on Angie's List, they are doing it again. Do not believe a word that comes from RCP. read more
