Victor is easygoing, eager, approachable, affable, honest, and chock full of integrity. He's also a human and like some other reviews note, he spends some extra time just getting a feel for "what does the customer really want" before making a suggestion. He is the type of person who you can actually trust, a rare thing these days. We made our deal, he noted the rains approaching, and he got the job done the very next day. I'm sure he can't always be quite that responsive but it was pretty awesome for me to get such premium service at a price I was comfortable with. When the job was done, there was one tiny little "oops" where my water meter got covered. I mentioned it and asked if I was being too much of a princess asking him to have his guys come back and dig it out, certainly I can spend the 5 minutes to go get my shovel and take care of it, but then again I was a paying customer. Victor did not flinch, he had it done when I looked the very next day. The quality of work done was excellent and this company is now my preference for all things dirt/gravel/asphalt in the future. Through a decade of working with dozens of contractors and subs, this is a new level of…read moreunbelievable! They sent staff out to carefully measure and photograph the site, we agreed on a price, signed a contract including the full scope and cost with all the details lined out (photo attached). The owner himself (John I think) shows up today with a skid steer, tore our driveway and parking area to a dusty mess, walked up to me and said he couldn't finish the job for the agreed price, and asked for $8k more, saying he'd leave if I didn't pay it or that he would come back in the winter when business is slower and he can "make more money on the job"! I've attached the contract and photos of the mess he left (the driveway was decent gravel with very little dirt or dust before he mangled it). I even offered to give him a couple grand more to finish the job as promised, but that wasn't enough! He complained that I had negotiated the price and so it's my fault and the contract isn't valid! Now I've got another half dozen subs pushed back on a complex timeline. This is costing me thousands of dollars extra and weeks of time that I don't have. I also see I'm not the first one he's done this to. Read the bad reviews and you'll see the same pattern. John was also kind enough to explain to me that a "real man" would not sue him. In my book, a "real man" does what he committed to do, even if it's less profitable than he hoped. In 20 years of running businesses, I've filed one lawsuit. This will be the second!

Someone at a garage sale hit part of the wall with her SUV and did major damage. Rose City came out and gave me a bid and we asked the to fix the wall. I waited a few days and then contacted him. "Oh - family emergency, we will start next week." Next week comes by and still no one comes. I wait a few days again and contact him again. "Oh - I injured my foot - next week for sure." I wait for the next week and again no one shows up. I wait a few days and contact him. "Oh - my foot is still injured - but next week for sure." Guess what - he did not show up the next week and then just stopped responding to my texts. I understand that delays come up but why is it my responsibility to have to repeatedly contact him when no one shows up on the scheduled date again and again? If something comes up, LET ME KNOW! And if you don't want to do it, LET ME KNOW! After a month of having my texts ignored, we gave up on him and contracted with the city to do the repair.

We recently expanded a deck, added a patio cover, and are putting a hot tub underneath this second…read morefloor deck. There was a concrete patio below the existing deck and we wanted to match that, w/ reinforcement for a hot tub. We got a couple bids for the job. Danny was the estimator that came out for Forest and he seemed knowledgeable and was punctual and professional. It was not the cheapest bid ($6600 for a 13'X16' 4" concrete patio w/ hot tub reinforcement), but the company is much more well established than a couple others we consulted so I put more trust in their work. Rigo is the guy we needed to work with on scheduling etc. for concrete work. This was a little rocky at first, but that had a lot to do with us needing to postpone the start till our deck was done, but then also work around a vacation we'd be taking, and make sure the concrete had enough time to cure before our hot tub is dropped. Despite a slight language barrier, we worked it out and even managed to get it done ahead of when we originally scheduled it. Punctuality is impressive with these guys. For 3 days they were waiting outside our house to start at 7:30am precisely. They had to remove a portion of fence and work around some foliage for access. They ended up encountering an unexpected drainage tube of some kind while digging and made sure to create an access point for us if it's ever needed in the future. The concrete looks great and matches our old patio so well, it's hard to tell they weren't poured together. Danny and I (and later Rigo) discussed treating the old concrete to help the matching. At the end of the work they did a great job of cleaning up the area and returning everything to normal. Rigo also helped us by showing us how to remove the fence portion for when our hot tub is delivered and left the top cap off because he said we'd really struggle to get it off if they put it back. I'm happy with the work, communication, and cleanup and trust if there are any problems I will be able to get them resolved. If we have further landscape needs in the future I will def be calling Forest for a bid.

It was not mentioned to me and I did not see until the job was finished, he was paid and he left the property. That means I need to find a contractor to replace that board adding to the cost of this project. Also, the stamping on one side of the deck was off kilter - no way to make that right. He's a hard worker but does not seem to pay attention to details.
