Driving by it looks like nothing, inside is a large seating area, a bar area and then doors to go to the outside where on the weekends at least there's live music. I took a step outside to get a picture of the pizza oven, what a beauty! I did not know it was the owner, but I asked the guy if I could grab a picture of it and in an Italian accent, he said get a picture from over here you can see inside. Our waitress was very knowledgeable, friendly and fast, And she had some large tables. The pizza was absolutely delicious. I asked the waitress while looking at the menu, I saw that they said some homemade pasta. She told me that they make all their pastas, breads, sauces, and pizza dough on site. We will have to come back and try some other meals, but the wood fired pizza was phenomenal. I had seen this place on the socials, and one time working my way back home when the expressway was shut down...I drove by it, and would've never noticed it if I hadn't known the name. The place is definitely doing the business, but you need to go. It is a hidden gem. One of the better pizzas in the drivable area for sure! The owners are from Italy, need I say anymore. Oh, I almost forgot that they have a nice selection of beers on draft. Seriously, reef donkey for five dollars. It only made the pizza that much better! And the sidenote when you get mushrooms on your pizza, you get a mixture of delicious mushrooms, all fresh, even shiitakes. The red peppers are freshly cut, and the onions are sautéed, which just adds another layer of flavor. But our waitress was very kind and she did go and tell her manager and had a talk with the grouchy woman. The food was very good and so was the service. Even the manager came by each and every table and asked if everything was OK how the food was and we appreciated that attention as well. I recommend Susie's Grill. The mushrooms, however, were not enjoyable at all in my opinion. The building has a lot of old Florida charm, but it's definitely due for a thorough update. No one checked if we needed anything while we dined, just kept walking in front of us in the bar- I requested our check and we paid. Based on this experience, try them out if your goal is to get some good food with minimal service and you have patience and time to spare. Honestly, the food was good enough that I will give them another try, I'll see if this was just an off night or not.
