Rosati's offers 4 types of Chicago style pizza: "Stuffed Pizza", "Pan Pizza" (aka. deep dish), thinner "Pub Pizza", & "Double Crust Pizza" (whatever that is), plus regular pizza's less expensive cousin, the one-handed "Calzone". I have only tried their "Pub Pizza", but I tried it twice. Once as a basic sausage, green pepper, & black olive, and the other times an "everything" combo, with 3 meats including Canadian bacon, and all of the vegetables plus pineapple, jalapeño bits, & fresh garlic. Both Pubs were delicious, with lots of cheese & sauce. Aside from "Stuffed", "Pan", "Pub", "Double Crust", & "Calzone", Rosati's Pizza offers a wide selection of other "Italian Dishes", or should I say "Americanized Italian Dishes", including numerous Pastas in sauce, Fried Calamari Rings, Meatballs, Antipasto Salad, etc. read more

I've been ordering Rosati's since the 1980s and have ordered from this Crystal Lake location several times since moving here in 2016. Unfortunately, our October 2 delivery was the worst pizza experience we've had from any Rosati's. Our two pizzas were promised for 6:47 PM but arrived at 7:20 PM. Both were lukewarm, with soggy crusts. We barely ate any, and only because we were hungry. I requested a refund of the $40.65 we paid. Six days and three attempts to communicate later, I have received no response. Meanwhile, I've received seven promotional emails from Rosati's encouraging me to order again. I understand that a restaurant can have a bad night. What is especially disappointing is the lack of any response or effort to make it right for a longtime customer. read more

I was so excited for the Alfredo. What I got was soup. The pasta was swimming in liquid, definitely not "sauce". The photo is AFTER I boiled off enough liquid to make it mildly edible. I'm kind of glad I didn't like it. It's WAY too expensive to be something I want to eat regularly. read more

PURE TRASH! Avoid this place at all costs! Barely cooked (asked for well done), trash quality and NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. Multiple other pizza joints in the area don't waste your time and money...the children working here don't know how to count cash or issue a refund anyway. read more

I loved this deep dish going up. Last night was pretty bad. Delivery was prompt. Pizza was cold. So it's a frozen shell. I like the fried mushrooms. The pizza that I had earlier in my youth had lots of cheese. This is all bread, like focaccia with a little sauce and alittle cheese. The sausage amount was generous overall 1 star for great delivery. read more

Rosati's used to be SO much better. We've been ordering from this location since the early 2000s. More toppings, better crust. Ordered a large, thin crust pepperoni and sausage, well done. Received a pizza with minimal toppings and a saggy crust. Yelled out a thank you to my delivery person, and she just looked at me and got in her car. read more

Pizza has always been good at this location. The Chiefs are usually really good too. Fries can be hit or miss, which is the only bummer.

The experience was terrible, there was no good customer service. I called to place an order and the person answered the phone rudely. I couldn't understand them, asked them to speak clearly and they hung up. I will no longer be ordering from this location. read more

Every time I order from this location I am disappointed. I've been eating at the Rosati's chain for years and this location is just not up to par on taste. We placed a large order to have delivered on a Sunday for a baby shower. It was not only delicious, but delivered on time and exactly what we ordered. Service was friendly from beginning to end. We are from out-of-town and seriously impressed with this restaurant's service and food. I would highly recommend Rosati's and actually suggest the fried chicken, yes the chicken was delicious, but everything was. Great Service and Delicious Food!! You need to try Rosati's in Crystal Lake. read more

Rip off! Not ethical! Tried to order the "60 Year Anniversary $3.50 Pizza". This offer was an online order only. Tried ordering beginning at 9:30 am. Online order form would not take my Special Offer #. Tried ordering throughout the day finally calling them at 6:30 pm. Gal on phone was very nice and polite but would not accommodate me. If you do not want to participate with the special, don't advertise that you are. So I ordered from Nick's. Every Tuesday is order one pizza get one free at NIck's. Will never order from a Rosati's again! read more

Great pizza and friendly staff. I order every Monday to enjoy their special on 14 inch one topping pizza .

The state of Rosati's saddens me - NOTHING like it used to be. We've ordered from this location for over 20 years. Tonight we ordered two small pizzas: 1 thin pepperoni and sausage, well done, and one white pizza. Not only was the pepperoni and sausage not well done, it wasn't DONE. So much sauce it leaked all over the box during transport. Cheese looked like thick plastic. The white pizza was so so. More well done than the other... so much ricotta it fell off in clumps when trying to eat. I've gotten used to the hit and miss over the last 5 years, but I think it's time to get a new go to place. Sad after over two decades. read more

I ordered a pizza at 4:30. At 5:30 it hadn't arrived. I called and they said according to the driver the pizza was delivered. Well, I had no pizza then they said the order must have been "dropped." So they offered to remake it and send another one. The one they sent (at 6 p.m.) was cold and HAD NO FRICKING CHEESSE ON IT! When I called again, they claimed I called THEM and said we're lactose intolerant and didn't want cheese. I ordered the pizza online (see attached pics) and made no mention of no cheese or lactose intolerance. Both staff members I spoke to were rude and argumentative. They didn't even offer to make me another pizza for free. I insisted they refund my money. I will never do business with this company again. And, again look at the pics, see the piece of crap pizza they sent me and look at the receipts, NO mention of lactose intolerance! read more

I have been ordering pizza, usually the Monster with thin crust, for many years and have never been disappointed. I have ordered from several places in McHenry County, and find them to serve consistently good pizza. While I have gotten really good pizza from a few other restaurants I always come back here. They deliver to our house, between Crystal Lake and Cary, which most other places won't go to. The delivery time can be as long as an hour and a half so around dinner I do have to plan ahead. Midday I stop in to get a slice for lunch and there is almost always fresh pizza (so far never a Monster though) which is perfect to hold me till dinner. Rosati's puts a thin net-like barrier between the pizza and the box which does two things: the bottom of the pizza doesn't stick to the box, and leftover pizza doesn't have a soggy crust. I run the netting through the dishwasher and will double it up if it's just me eating the pizza and will be pushing the limits for a soggy pie. I order a large Monster a couple of times a month, and have been for most of the last 20 years. Pizza is my favorite so I like to have it on hand. It is usually slice it in squares, but if I order it pie-cut I get it sliced as pizzas traditionally are. Once in a while it comes cut into squares but that is infrequent, and not an impediment to an enjoyable meal. read more

Deep dish has Very thick crust, very little flavour in sauce and cheese, and thin pizza is mediocare. Head to Georgios instead.

I will not be returning to this location, I was at a friend's house and the food was subpar, pizzas were sloppily made and cut, didn't taste as good as other Rosatis that I've been to. And I also heard about some of the things that have allegedly happened at this location. read more

We have lived in Crystal Lake for just over 20 years. We've used crystal Lake Rosatis Pizza on hundreds of occasions. Some good experiences and some not so good. I'm not sure but I suspect it's under new management? We've ordered several times over the past few months and noticed a change. Consistent friendliness when we call, consistent great pizza, crust, sauce and toppings. Plus, all the delivery drivers we've had have been very friendly and polite. Whatever your doing keep it up. All of the consistencies I've mentioned are the some of the keys to your continued success!! Bob S. read more

This place is horrible. We ordered a pizza from a hotel, and were told that they couldn't bring orders up to the rooms. We would be informed when our order was brought to the front desk. Long after the ETA, we called the restaurant and were told the food had been delivered. The front desk had no record. The restaurant hung up on us TWICE, once after the supposed driver yelled at me and called me a bitch when I asked why they didn't verify an ID. We asked to have our card refunded 4 times. It never happened. All of a sudden, we are told they delivered down the hall (again, no verification) and still no refund. Supposedly waiting on delivery currently. While the restaurant's manager has found the time to respond almost two weeks after the fact, he is missing the point. We were first told that the pizza was simply handed to someone standing outside (?) and then told it was delivered to a specific room, and then told that no one had any idea what room it was delivered to. Rosati's staff was insolent and rude, and I spoke with at least 3 employees. There are plenty of bad reviews here, so they can all speak for themselves. On top of all of that, the food was cold and mediocre. read more

Went from best to the worst. My last 2 pizzas were cold. The last one was overloaded with cheese and the crust was soggy. Bad combination! The men who run the place are extremely rude and think it's ok to swear at their customers because they call to complain. read more

This was a great tasting thin crust Chicago pizza. We had to skip dinner, and found this place later in the evening. Definitely will return.

Surprised by a credit card fee when picking up. Rosati's responds to these reviews and asks customers to try them again. So I did. The 2nd time was OK. This review is for the 3rd time I tried them, and I already left this feedback for them on there internal feedback solicitation. Apparently they have started charging a credit card fee. yet, somehow, they believe if they disclose this - at the time of pickup, that it is a non-cash adjustment, it will be accepted more easily, it seems. I was surprised when I went in to pick up my pie, by two things. One, the teenage staff only put on masks when customers come in to pick up orders, and two - a 3.99% fee to pay with a credit card, which, to my knowledge then becomes a profit center for the business, as I believe the credit card fees max out at 3.5%. none of this was shown when ordering. read more

The pizza is always great tasting and done just the way we order it! And the garlic parmesan wings are delicious!

I have been eating Rosati's Pizza for 30 years but there is something about this location where they refuse to put the proper amount of cheese on there pizzas. So I started ordering extra cheese so I would get the right amount and it still was not correct. Every other Rosati's has great pizza but this one in Crystal Lake is terrible. It was good at one time , must have changed ownership over the years. read more

Very sad to find out that another Crystal Lake pizza place has let us down. Because it's all of them say Chicago pizza has anybody ever seen a Chicago Pizza? Chicago pizza places fill their pizzas up they put the sausage on every piece they even put more than two on each piece. We ordered a 16-inch cheese and sausage pizza 2 inches all the way around were either burnt or missing sausage and cheese so my 16-inch pizza was now a 12-inch . You know owners you don't have to make a fortune on every Pizza they not putting the ingredients all the way to the end and using weigh less than Chicago Place would read more

Ordered pizza, total bill was little over $41. Driver delivers food, forgets my 2 liter. I respond with "Ok.... and what will you be doing to make this right?". Driver responds with "Do you really need it?" No, I don't really need it, but when I pay $4 for a 2 liter I expect it. His response was for me to go hop on grub hub and contest the receipt. Because its the customers job to fix their mistakes?! After rude service?! Last time I will be ordering here, forgetting the drink is an understandable mistake, but how he handled it was completely unacceptable. read more

As a city girl, Rosatis pizza is home to me. A few months ago I ordered and it was alright. Not like the city but doable. Thursday night we order because I miss Rosatis. Thinking it will be better I thought hella wrong!! We order a large family size and get a small cheese free. We're vegans so I wanted a veggie pizza and a cheese. Toppings are $5 each! Menu says $1.80. On top of that we find pieces of pepperoni in it!! We're fkn vegans!!!!!! That $75 dollar pizza was the absolute worst! I had guests waiting and didn't have the heart to just leave it as I went to pick it up. I was disappointed because it tasted like crap!! I wake up with the worst stomach pains, the family got stomach pains. Diarrhea and cramps. I will NEVER order there. The wings had a stench covered in Buffalo sauce. Absolute fkn worst! Mad that this place is even a part of Rosatis name!! I'll will be Karening and calling corporate. If I could give it 0 stars I would. read more

I've been to Rosati's all over the greater Chicago area and other parts of Illinois. It's usually a reliable choice when you cannot trust the quality of the other local pizza places that are somewhat sketchy. Therefore, the Rosati's brand is a solid choice in general. While visiting my parents, they had saved enough coupon vouchers off the pizza boxes to order a large, 1 topping pizza for half off the original price. In that case, the pizza was VERY affordable based on the discounted rate ($11 after tax). We ordered just a simple large pepperoni pizza. Not sure what it was, but the cheese was perfectly melted and you can taste the high quality. The pepperoni pieces didn't slide off the cheese, which is a common complaint when I order pepperoni pizzas. In terms of labeling, i think their logo is going through a change to appear more trendy, most likely for the millennial crowd that commonly rejects the idea of chains. In any case, compliments on the logo. read more

Very disappointed in Rosatis in crystal lake. We've given them tons of business and because we complained one time due to a pizza being cold and all of the cheese on one side, they refuse to deliver to us anymore. Tried to talk to the owner but he was "not there". Tried to make a comment on their fb page but it won't allow me to post anything. Very very disappointed. Horrible customer service all around. Also, when we ordered the pizza, in the pic, it came with extra hard cold beer nuggets...and we live 5 mins down the street read more

To the business owner: FYI I've been a manger in the food industry for 11 years. You don't EAT while making food! You don't leave ingredients out in the open to get to the danger zone! I'm significantly disappointed with the online ordering system. The order was supposed to be ready at 6:20, but it wasn't until 6:55. Rosati's Crystal Lake has been a godsend for us when it comes to CATERING! We recently hosted a birthday party with ~40 guests and were able to feed everyone for ~$130 (less than $4/person). This included Italian Beef (including all peppers/cheese/bread), Fried Chicken, Mostaccioli, Caesar Salad, & garlic bread. ALL guests were able to eat ALL of this for less than $4 person. It is an outstanding deal. Unbeatable from what our research found. In addition we had all of this delivered to our home, up the stairs, and into the kitchen for $3 charge (+ tip). I think you would be hardpressed to find a better deal in the area for the quantity, quality, and selection of food included with this catering deal. __________ From time to time we also order their thin-crust pizza which is head-and-shoulders above the dominos/pizza huts of the world. I also highly suggest ordering their beer-nuggets (dough nuggets) which is basically a pound of food (+ dipping sauce) for under $5. We have never had an issue with service whether it has been pickup or delivery! Good quality / great prices / good service read more

This review is for delivered pizzas. I have ordered from here maybe 5-6 times over the years and each time has been at least ok pizza. There is a tendency to put on too much sauce and WAY too much cheese so, as others have noted, there can be a soggy crust especially on the larger sized pies. I sometimes think being so close to Wisconsin that more cheese gets to be the norm on a pizza---- but for me... it is not what I prefer. The crust is bland with no character but also it doesn't seem horrible. I always make sure that I order my pizza EXTRA crispy and easy on the cheese or you will have toppings in your lap or a a nice limp crust regardless. I have had them forget to add peppers when asked and little things here or there, but no major screwups. OK When you want a pizza delivered. read more
