This was one of my favorite places for pizza when we lived here. When we are in town we try to make sure we stop in. Today we had a group of 12 people. We all ordered pizza and beer nuggets as an app. The pizza was as great as I remember!! Love Nick's!!

This is sausage and bacon small... Which is only 9 inches. It should be called a mini pizza not a small.

Literally the worst! I ordered a small sausage and bacon, fried shrimp and a salad. 5 shrimp for 15.95 (( it's not gold) ) cocktail sauce was so sweet. Pizza had 2 slices of bacon . The salad wasn't bad... but not worth $6.50. I do have to say the girl at the counter was so nice. Thats why I gave it a 2 star $36.00 I would've been better off making a tombstone. It would've tasted a whole lot better.

Thin Crust Cheese Pizza

Went to Nick's Pizza and Pub for an early dinner while in the area. I previously stopped here for carry out but this was my first time dining in. The inside is log cabin themed with tons of comical taxidermy wild animals. They have the classic peanut offering upon arrival but DON'T throw your shells on the ground. The menu is straight forward but the pizza is definitely the highlight. Once we sat, we ordered two beers and our pizza, classic thin crust cheese. Our pizza came out in about 15-20 minutes as the restaurant wasn't crowded. Disappointment is an understatement. The crust was thin like we like but very dry. The cheese on top is mozzarella but could benefit from some dimension. Sauce was ok but needed more to counteract the crust. The pizza overall looked undercooked as well. I asked for a side of ranch which I could tell was homemade, but not a good sign if a "famous pizza" needs a sauce to taste better. Sad to say we will be skipping making a pit stop next time.

The food was all good - Pesto Chicken, Build Your Own Burger & a 12" Mexican Pizza. Had leftovers of the pizza to enjoy the next day. The jalapeños are a great addition to it. Our waitress Alice was great! They don't let you drop the peanut shells on the ground any more but they still serve peanuts. The only complaint would be the price of a 23 ounce Blue Moon - $9.25.

LOVED IT! Pizza, appetizers & peanuts! Great service & the friendliness staff as well, we truly felt at home. Will most definitely be back here again & again & again. Thanks to the manager as well who gave us a first timer's coupon for our next visit :) PS- fries could use some seasoning, but other than that... LOVED IT! Thanks Nicks :)

This is our favorite ultra-thin crust pizza place. We love sitting at the rustic bar to share a pizza and a brew.

First things first -- Kenny is awesome! He completely made our visit here!…read more Five of us, old friends who live all over (some from throughout Chicagoland, and who one who was back from Florida) and hadn't seen each other much recently, decided to have a bite and a drink after a visiting a wake for a good friend who'd died tragically the week before. So we weren't in the most celebratory mood, but we did want to spend some time together hanging out and talking while we were all in the same place. It was late for Crystal Lake (about 9pm on a weeknight, when it's hard to find someplace nearby that's open), and thanks to Yelp! I found that Lucky Lulu's was fairly close, served food, and appeared to be open late. To be sure they'd still be open and have food, I tried to call. But no one answered. Uh oh! I hung up, and almost immediately got a call back, which my caller ID told me was from Lucky Lulu's. A voice on the other end asked if I'd just called, said he was concerned that the call was spam since my phone number is from a non-Chicago area code, but said something told him he should call back. I said yes, thanks so much for calling back! I explained that a small group of us were looking for a place to have dinner and drinks and asked if the kitchen was still open. Yes, he told me, until 11pm. I thanked him gratefully, told him we'd be right over, and we headed that way. From the minute we arrived, we felt SO welcome! Kenny introduced himself, told us he'd stay as long as we needed, brought us menus and drinks, and proceeded to wait on us attentively the whole time we were there (about 3 hours). He got the gist of the reason for our gathering shortly after we got there, when we were toasting our friend and sharing stories, and came over to express his sympathy. By the time we left, after we sang for him (a hobby we all share), we all hugged him and thanked him profusely -- It was that wonderful! The food was good -- standard pub fare. Two shared the flatbread (and ended up ordering a second and taking part home), and the rest of us chose between sliders and salad. The drinks were good, too. He knew just how to make my standard Makers Mark Manhattan, up, with two cherries. It was perfect. Next time I'm in the area (about an hour from home), Lucky Lulu's will be at the top of my list for a re-visit! An extra special thanks again to Kenny, who turned our otherwise sad evening into a huge positive, and we all left to return home on a high note.

Went here recently for a birthday dinner. We had pot roast sliders,…read more Chicken pesto and bbq chicken flat breads and drinks as well. The food was amazing, very kind servers and a fireplace to boot. It was 5 degrees that night.

I decided to give Lambemi's another try while in the downtown Crystal Lake area…read more This is bar is a staple in the area and you can tell there's a lot of local customers that come back over and over. The bar did not smell that musty this time and this is still a no-frills local tavern. The bartender was very nice and very attentive. The local customers sitting at the bar made me feel welcome. The white cheddar cubes with a breaded coating appetizer was very tasty, especially when I added their homemade ranch dressing. The Labemi chicken that was recommended by the bartender who she said she always orders that dish. This was one of the best chicken entrees I have ever had! The dish has artichoke hearts and mushrooms in a creamy lemon butter sauce with wild rice. The chicken was very tender and outstanding and ample for two people. You can always sub out the wild rice for pasta. This dish comes with a side salad or cup of soup as well. The clam chowder was pretty good. One thing this restaurant is known for is their generous pores. They did not disappoint this time too! I definitely plan to come back to get that same chicken dish! If you have not been here yet, I recommend it for a very low-key lunch or dinner.
