Stopped by this Mexican spot while up in Big Bear and it did NOT disappoint. After a long day in the mountains, this was exactly what I needed. I ordered a burrito and it was packed with flavor -- perfectly seasoned meat, generous portions, and everything tasted fresh. You can tell they don't cut corners. It was hearty without being greasy, and the tortilla was soft and warm. The spicy margarita was on point too. Great balance of citrus and heat -- not overly sweet, with just the right kick. Definitely one of the better spicy margs I've had. They also brought out complimentary chips and salsa, and the salsa had a legit homemade taste with good spice. Always a great sign when the chips are fresh and the salsa actually has flavor. Service was friendly and fast, and the vibe was relaxed and welcoming -- perfect after being out on the lake or slopes all day. If you're in Big Bear and craving solid Mexican food and a good margarita, this place is worth the stop. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town. read more

Rosa is a must if you're in Big Bear. My wife and I stopped in not long after they opened and left completely blown away. We ordered the Blanco ceviche, Quesabirrias, Chicken tortilla soup, and a Cadillac margarita. Every single thing was great. The ceviche was fresh and light, the Quesabirrias had that perfect crispy exterior with rich birria flavor, and the chicken tortilla soup was honestly one of the better ones I've had. The Cadillac margarita was strong and well made without being too sweet. The fact that they're this good right out of the gate says a lot. We're already planning to come back next trip up. Stopped by Rosa's to check out the latest restaurant in The Village. It was an outstanding experience. The complimentary chips were fresh and served with two salsas, the cocktails were well-made, and the service was top-notch - friendly and attentive. We had the quesabirria (ahhhhmazing) and the chicken tortilla soup. Both were delicious and would order again. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. We sat on the patio because the weather was too perfect that day to be inside but the decor of the place feels modern and hip without being pretentious. read more

I'm wondering if all the people that wrote great reviews were drunk and didn't taste the food or had no taste buds. I ordered chile rellenos and chicken enchiladas. The rellenos were the worst I can remember having and there was no chicken in the enchiladas. It was a to go order and my last night visiting in Big Bear other wise I'd have taken it back for a refund the next day. The mushy white rice with peas didn't pair well with the food. Not that anything good could have paired well with bad food... the beans weren't bad but there was only a tablespoon of those. I cook Mexican food a lot and it's fantastic and I'm white. My Mexican friends all love it so I know it's good. Sad because I went to this restaurant because of the reviews. The atmosphere and servers were very nice. Rosa's was honestly one of the best dining experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment we sat down, Marie and Rosa went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They even started us off with some complimentary items, which was a really nice touch. Marie was super helpful with the menu and gave honest recommendations, which we ended up going with--and I'm glad we did. Everything was amazing. Rosa kept checking in on us throughout the meal with such a great attitude, and genuinely made us feel like family. You can tell she really cares about the experience, not just the food. The service was fast, the vibe was great, and we never felt forgotten or rushed once. And the food... easily a 10/10. You HAVE to try the queso birria and the churros. They even gave us a really warm and generous goodbye, which just topped everything off. I haven't experienced service like this in a long time. Just came in for drinks, so we sat at the bar. But our drinks were fantastic courtesy of Carlos, and the salsa verde and chips they give you was great! Chips were warm and salsa verde was fresh! We went last Saturday around 4pm expecting a wait, to our surprise they sat us right away. Chips and salsa came out within a few minutes. I enjoyed the green salsa, it had a nice kick. We had margaritas and the molcajete. Drinks were on point and the food was delicious! Our server (I think her name was Hayimi) came to check on us often and was so nice. Many other people came by to check in on us as well. We paid and didn't want to leave, and the nice large bar caught our eyes. Lucky for us there were 2 seats near the window. At the bar I had a cucumber jalapeño margarita, my husband tried the old fashioned (wish they had a better bourbon selection, but not bad for a Mexican restaurant). Bar staff was friendly and attentive. Overall great service, good drinks and tasty food. Will definitely be coming back and happy to have this new restaurant in the village. read more

Ok here we go again with yet another mediocre Mexican restaurant in Big Bear (like we don't have enough already), although the place is really nice and the service was great ,the food is well from my experience, u can just by frozen food that is just as good or better, we ordered the two chili rellenos and the two chicken enchiladas and the rice (which I've never had from any Mexican place) was mushy and the beans were pretty horrible. And they gave about a lg tablespoon of each( cause u know how expensive those products can be, not) the rellenos I think are some restaurant supply pre made and the enchiladas were not mentionable either. Anyway if u like nice atmosphere and friendly servers and mediocre food this is your spot read more

Our service was atrocious on a Saturday at 4pm. Our server forgot about us all night. We had to find him multiple times for missing items, incorrect items, and left us sitting for 30 minutes waiting to pay. On top of horrible service, our food was bland, unoriginal and flavorless. NOT worth the 20-30$ price tag per person. Out of all tap beers and could not offer any other options besides tequila. For this place opening this month, I will not be surprised if they are closed within the month. read more

They are all so friendly and accommodating. I am vegan and they have a few dishes that are vegan and they are working on getting some more items on the menu. My goodness what an experience! Food was good as well as service but the BATHROOMS!!! The moment I opened that bathroom door my eyes widened bigger than the Grand Canyon. Such detail and craftsmanship, you could really tell they knew what they were doing. Every toilet and urinal, so level and uniform! And the water pressure was amazing I will never forget that feeling while washing my hands. The plumbers must have a tattoo on their arm or something that says, "ADA COMPLIANT" because everything was beyond up to par. We have eaten at nearly every Mexican restaurant in Big Bear Lake and Big Bear City, and this is the one we'll go back to again. We loved the ambiance, the welcoming attitude, the attendant server, the margaritas, and the fajitas! We opted for the triple: beef, chicken, and shrimp, all cooked perfectly. It was served with chunky guacamole, sour cream, and a curtido (?). The rice was fluffy and flavorful, the beans were smothered in cheese. We loved the two fresh salsas that were served with crisp tortilla chips, and perfectly started our meal. We are looking forward to going back to try more of the menu at Rosa's. Also, next time we'll bring our dog and sit on the patio. Bonus! read more
