AVOID THIS PLACE until management changes! While the food and the rest of the staff were great, the experience was completely soured by the eldest woman managing the floor. She was incredibly bitter, arrogant, condescending, critical, and judgmental, and she treated the staff poorly right in front of us. When my son politely suggested live music--drawing from business experience and what the community needs--she looked at him with utter disdain and ignored him entirely. She looked down on us as a collective, maintaining an air of effortless superiority as if we were beneath her very notice. We do not pay premium prices to be treated with such condescension. There are plenty of other "yummy" spots in Big Bear that actually value their customers. We have homes in Big Bear and are respected, loved members of our large community. We will not be giving good recommendations to locals or visitors. read more

We really wanted to like this place because Big Bear is full of not so great tourist food. The food was pretty bland unless you put the salsas on it. I am so glad that 'the other place' didn't have a table for our group, because we walked up the street and came upon this gorgeous, spacious, newly opened restaurant: Rosa's! It is beautiful inside; once you step in, you forget you are in the mountains. The ambience and decor feel like chic LA or Newport Beach. The art pops from the walls, the ceilings are high, the furniture is on point, and the place is a gem! The staff are so warm, friendly, and fast moving; that makes you feel well tended to. The complementary chips and salsa are a fantastic entry point to the culinary experience. We had the pleasure of meeting Rosa herself; this restaurant is one of her greatest achievements; her personal passion and joy are reflected throughout the place - and in the delicious food! Stopped in for lunch at Rosa's Mexican Restaurant, and I was seriously impressed. They're only two weeks old, but they already have everything dialed in. I was greeted immediately and seated within seconds, which set a great first impression. The wait staff was super friendly and attentive the entire time, making sure we had everything we needed. WOW! This is truly one of the gems of Big Bear. My husband and I chose to eat here when I was searching for something new we haven't tried while visiting and I'm so glad we did. The atmosphere is beautiful inside they did great with the design. We sat outside because it was beautiful weather and we had the pleasure of some live music which was great! I had the guava margarita and my husband had a classic.. both tasty! We ordered esquites & guacamole off the apps and the chile Colorado for our meal to share which came with rice, beans & tortillas. Everything was so flavorful and totally hit the spot. Not to mention the service was AMAZING (hard to come by in Big Bear) everyone that passed by checked in on us and made sure we had everything we needed. Wow!! So great to have this new restaurant in Big Bear. The first thing you notice as soon as you walk in is the decor. It's so welcoming and beautiful. I went with a group of friends to another restaurant which happened to be closed so we did a quick pivot and headed to Rosa's. And it turned out perfectly perfect! They seated all eight of us right away and quickly got us stated with drinks, chips and delicious margaritas. The wait staff was amazing. The owners were both there and double checked on us several times. Everyone was friendly, happy, and helpful. Our food was delivered hot and quickly. They refilled our salsa many times and our waters too. So many delicious things on the menu. I had the durable shrimp and it was spicy hot but not scorching hot. Just right! She was incredibly friendly and helped me choose the quesabirria plate and I'm so glad she did. It was honestly the best quesabirria I've had in my 26 years!!! We heard about this new restaurant and couldn't wait to check it out. I liked the atmosphere with everything being clean and bright and a bit upscale for a Mexican restaurant. The place was extremely busy as it was a holiday weekend and this new restaurant had just opened up about a week ago. We got the margarita tree and it was as fun as you would expect! We enjoyed the complementary chips and salsa, especially since they provide a red and green salsa to dip back-and-forth between, really nice. I enjoyed the flavors of my combo plate with the chicken enchilada and chicken taco being pretty darn tasty, and really enjoyed the rice and beans with the rice being a bit more refined than the usual Spanish rice and the refried beans seemed a bit more creamy than usual, a nice upgrade on both! Well, we definitely enjoyed our visit, but we could tell the restaurant was new as it took three times for them to get our food right. The first time we got beef items instead of chicken, the second time the chicken enchilada only had cheese in it and was missing the chicken. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating and helped to correct our food issues immediately. Nice place, and I look forward to coming back soon! read more

We were on the hunt for a place that had chips and salsa so we can have some Drinks and kill time before heading to the movie theater a few doors down. We ended up ordering the guacamole and it was the best tasting guac me and my husband have ever tasted ! (We live in LA county and we were very surprised by this).For drinks , my Husband ordered a modelo but I ordered a virgin Watermelon Margarita and it was the best mocktail I've had my entire pregnancy. It was hearty without being greasy, and the tortilla was soft and warm. The spicy margarita was on point too. Great balance of citrus and heat -- not overly sweet, with just the right kick. Definitely one of the better spicy margs I've had. They also brought out complimentary chips and salsa, and the salsa had a legit homemade taste with good spice. Always a great sign when the chips are fresh and the salsa actually has flavor. Service was friendly and fast, and the vibe was relaxed and welcoming -- perfect after being out on the lake or slopes all day.
