I met one of my oldest friends here in 8th grade because I remember that we had to make a memorial of September 11th. Somehow we ended up being really close friends after only knowing each other for a couple of weeks. Then again, our moms became best friends and are still close today. It was an interesting 2 years of my life. I would have to comment on some of the teachers, but then again, some of my teachers may have left already. My brother goes here now, and it seems okay. He does have some of the teachers that I had, but the place looks a lot newer than it did when I was there. New buildings and parking lot.

The principal decided to HANG up on my ex husband because she was uncomfortable with the concerns he addressed. I went as far to get the superintendent involved because of her lack of professionalism. I absolutely love the education that the Brea schools provide. The quality is unmatched.But the office at Brea Jr high is a pure embarrassment. I avoid going in at all cost. I have had no issues with the other schools my children attend and have not had this same experience with ANY previous schools office staff. Someone needs to make a change.

I even gave them a little history to help pull some timeless pranks that sent us rolling. A few "mistakes" on the checkout sheet is all it took. Honestly without their threats of removing my children from daycare and taking a hard stance on not being involved in the courts I never would have been able to remove there father like this. When I was in 5th grade, Miss Minshall always pushed us getting us ready for middle school. She was so amazing and the the teachers only get better and better. Miss Alfaro is so funny and actually understands us so well and yet knows when it's time to be serious. Miss Grasz gives excellent Spanish class teaching with her "Gabi" stories. Gabi is a cat who we read about in small cartoons. She does crazy stuff and makes that class so enjoyable. Mrs. Young is basically the same as Miss Alfaro. She's amazing! Mrs. Min always forgives no matter what. Our class is 30 students, and it is not easy to deal with us. We are very talkative. She keeps her cool and is always so nice to us. Mrs. Blain is great and always doing what needs to be done. Pastor Eric provides great Church messages getting us all closer to God. If you're looking to put your kid in private school and you're close to Brea, I would encourage you to bring your kid here. 5 stars for sure!

My son had a basketball tournament here and it is has been one of the nicer high schools to play on. Tournaments are very expensive and the parking at high schools are usually free. They have several divided basketball gyms and they serve Chik-Fil-a at the games.

Our family participated in the program for seven years. Based on our experience, there was limited emphasis on consistent conversational Spanish in daily classroom instruction. Although we were informed that the program's language balance would shift over time, we did not observe a meaningful increase in Spanish use with students. After several years in the program, our children were still not able to comfortably speak Spanish, which was unexpected given the program's stated goals. Families considering this program should be aware that additional private tutoring may be necessary to support language development. We also noted limited availability of Spanish-speaking support staff, which may impact reinforcement of language learning outside the classroom. In addition to academic concerns, our family experienced student safety issues. Over a prolonged period, my child was subjected to bullying that eventually escalated into a physical incident. These concerns were brought to the attention of school administration, including Mr. Barrientos. From our perspective, the response did not result in effective resolution or prevention. Certain leadership statements and interactions raised concerns for us regarding school culture and accountability. While interpretations may vary, these experiences contributed to a loss of confidence in the administration's handling of both academic programming and student well-being. I am sharing this feedback so other families can make informed decisions and so these concerns may be reviewed and addressed moving forward.

Okay lets…read moresee, spanish teacher Sr. Miller would ridicule me infront of the class while I could barely hold myself up from passing out because of my severe depression, Mr. Davis gave me multiple eating disorders from health class, Mr. Acton was really pervy around the girls in PE, Mrs. Braun was indoctrinating her students putting her politcal views into her lessons (including very racist messages), Mr. McRae told his students he would join ICE (teachers politics should not be mentioned in schools), the students are incredibly misbehaved, VP Mrs. Chapman is very rude to students, the cell phone rules are too much (seriously, at El Dorado they allow phones and theres almsot nobody misbehaving), overall this school is horrible. The amount of suffering I was put through going to this school is incomprehensible, the students are torturous and the staff are rude and push politics onto kids. (Also shoutout to Mr. LeGrand, Mrs. Lapworth, Mr. Taberski, Mr. Gonzalez, Mrs. German (retired), and those are the only notable staff members that I've met.)

This review is for the music program only. My nephew who is a junior and will graduate in the class…read moreof 2020 is in the Jazz Program. He's in Jazz 1 which is the highest level of student musicians. There three levels currently...3, 2 and 1. We've attended several concerts in the El Dorado Music Center. It's a great place with good seats and great acoustics. But best of all is the music director, Eric Sampson. He's done a fabulous job with the kids. Usually when they have a concert they will invite a big name musician to come and mentor and play accompany the band. This year they had Bijon Watson an accomplished trumpet player. If you get a chance to come see these kids play, do it! They're unbelievably talented.
