The school offers math club an hour before and an hour after school. There is also homework club, which is supervised, an hour after school. These options are at no extra charge. Downside? Yup... after school pickup has the same idiot parents as all the other schools. Taking advantage of the homework club or math club after school definitely makes picking up a much more bearable task.

Canyon Hills is a small school for special needs students with moderate to severe disabilities. Usually 80-90 students a year attend. I was extremely happy with her experience at Canyon Hills School. She was taught well and genuinely cared for. They are able to manage many students with behavioral problems and get them to focus on their educational goals. The staff teaches the students many skills that help them out in every day life. They go on field trips, get adaptive physical education, work on individual goals, they get speech therapy, have music therapy, they make friends and get socialization. Overall, Canyon Hills is a great school with many caring staff members who are dedicated to their students. And if she could have the option to go back to Canyon Hills School I would driver her there on Monday.

If you're on the fence, give them a chance by attending one of the campus events to hear what they have to offer and what sets them apart from other schools. For example, how many middle schools offer international travel opportunities? My daughter went on a 10+ day trip to Europe and made wonderful memories with her friends. Again, this school has it all (including pre-AP!) and so many parents I've talked to all agree it was amazing for each of their kids. No regrets!

Since day 1 we felt welcome, heard, and most importantly informed on our daughter's progress and what she needed to work on to improve. All of the teachers here, Ms. Ridma, Ms. Harshi, and Ms Janine have worked with our daughter for a year or more. Our experience after 4 years has been amazing in every way. The attention to detail, the education, the challenging of our daughter to improve, the homework, the care and love we couldn't be any more happy! We are actually sad to leave. Our daughter has had an amazing experience, loved all her teachers and she reads as a 2nd grader at the 6 grade level due to the incredible curriculum they teach at this school. She loves going to school and looks forward to it every day. I highly recommend you enroll your child at the school to give them an edge and challenge them in the areas they need improvement. Mr. Ronnie is one of the best security guards I know, he's so caring, kind, and always willing to help a student whether it's buying them food for lunch to make sure no kids are left hungry or just even making sure we make it across the parking lot safely.
