Artichoke Heart Salad
Steve A.

Cool deli. It's easy to find something good. Rosalia's Deli has a lot of classic Italian salads. Get these in bulk. They also have pizza. Got some stuff for a gathering. It has a lot of salads in here. The one I got was the Artichoke Heart Salad. It's about $9 a pound. The prices aren't low but neither is quality. Has a lot to try and I got to come back here. It also makes their own pizza. Try it when you have time.

I highly recommend ordering a caprese salad from this deli! They put a wonderful blends of salad underneath the tomato and mozz which is so rare to come by!! This is one of my favorite places because of the salad. Thank you Rosalia's!

Incredible food!!! I order the Tuscan panini ( great quality chicken, delicious flavor), chicken and dumpling soup ( plenty of dumplings, chicken and ingredients, delicious!) snd of course dessert- yes I had to order 2 containers- prob best I've ever had!!! Do yourself a favor and go enjoy a great, super fresh meal at this cozy little deli

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Rosalia's. Caprese was just okay but the rest of the experience was spectacular.

Been coming here for a few years now and I will still say this is the best little deli for lunch or dinner. I sometimes stop here and pick up the lasagna for two for dinner. It's the perfect amount for two people, with a side salad and bread. I will say this and it's the only negative comment I can give is sometimes the salads you get on the side with sandwiches have old wilted and brown lettuce. It's very unappealing , and not sure why they don't notice ???? I still like coming and love that they have a wood fire pizza of the day. It's a great value.

Italian Sandwich (added ham)

Came for lunch with some work buddies I had the Italian sandwich, French onion soup, ordered chicken limone soup (to go), and friends ordered chopped salad & wood fire pizza! Even sampled the Italian cookie gelato! Everything was absolutely amazing! Service was quick, professional and very nice people! We will be back regularly! Highly recommend!

First time trying the Pepper n Egg Sandwich here, Delicious! A well made , very filling Pepper n Egg Sandwich. I had the Clam Chowder soup with my Sandwich, picked a few Cannoli's to go. I did ask if the Pepper n Egg sandwich was strictly a Lent Special as some places are, no. The Pepper n Egg is made year round, just ask. If you don't see it on the menu, they will still make it. Delicious! Enjoy!

The Russian, it's a Rueben with roast beef!

I try to giro this little gem any time I get the chance, they are open mostly for lunch hours (although Angelo's next door is related and open for dinner) they have a brick oven pizza that makes excellent pizzas, a huge selection of fine imported Italian meats, cheeses and wines along with premise meals, fresh made pasta and gelato! A one stop shop for sure. Every time I go here I make sure to order the baked French onion soup, they put a piece of garlic bread in there and then melt the cheese in the brick oven! So dang good! The sandwiches are excellent and so are the pizzas, I would recommend this place to anyone and will be returning again. They do have vegetarian options for those so inclined.

Goud Apple Panini (turkey, smoked gouda and green apple), $6.

Lived in Elmhurst too long to have just tried Rosalia's for the first time. Great subs and paninis and our little one loved the gelato!

My assessment: expensive meats, old interior and really poor, slow, bumbling customer service. I wish Gene's Sausage Shop would open here.

For an appetizer, we got the honeycomb with ricotta and honey. It wasn't bad at all--the bread was nice, and the ricotta was good, but everything combined was a little lacking in flavor. For entrees, we got Ella's Smash Burger with fries, the Rocket Man pizza, and the chicken farro salad. The smash burger was delicious! It's definitely not your typical smash burger since it was thicker, but all the ingredients worked so well together. The Rocket Man pizza was also amazing. Honestly, I could eat it by itself without adding anything else and be completely satisfied. The chicken farro salad was delicious as well and very filling. Our bartender and server, Kalina, was wonderful! She was very knowledgeable about both the food and drinks and took care of us throughout the entire evening. We really appreciated her recommendations and great service. The restaurant was clean, and it wasn't too loud, so we could actually have a conversation with the people sitting next to us without having to shout. Overall, we had a great experience, and I would definitely come back to try more of the menu!

A great spot in Elmhurst to get a guaranteed good meal every time!…read more I love their appetizers including the ricotta and honey (my favorite), the zucchini fries, and the homemade chips/onion dip. The pizza is both super doughy and cheesy, but also crispy on the edges. A bit different from a typical deep dish or thin crust though, as a heads up. And the vodka pasta is a super garlicky/spicy/creamy solid dish you have to try (I get it every time without fail). I've also never had a bad experience with servers at Ella's! They're incredibly nice and even let us bring in a cake/brought us plates for my dad's birthday. And finally, the ambience is as expected. It's an Italian pub, so think elevated bar space with some nice paintings and outside seating where you could go either dressed up or casual.

The tomato sauce was flavorful, and the shaved Parmesan and arugula complemented the dish beautifully. Unfortunately, the arancini themselves were disappointing, as the coating was much too thick compared to the small amount of rice filling inside. For our entrées, my husband ordered the Chicken Parmigiana. The chicken was unfortunately very dry and overly salted. I chose the pappardelle with short rib ragù. The fresh pasta was excellent--perfectly made with a wonderful texture--but the ragù was also overly salted, which overshadowed what could have been a great dish. One of the highlights of our evening was the service. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout our meal. The hostess, who may have been the owner, also stopped by our table to check on us, which we appreciated. Overall, this certainly wasn't the worst Italian restaurant we've visited, and there were several things we enjoyed. However, the entrées ultimately fell short of our expectations, especially for a special dinner.

Once we arrived, the hostess could not have been more sweet. She was all smiles and was very welcoming. Our server was just as pleasant. She remembered my friend from previous visits. After a few minutes, we're brought bread and a nice oil with an olive salad, balsamic and cheese. Excellent start. Except... no waiter or waitress for at least 10 minutes. That's OK. We've got our ice waters. After our drink orders we taken, we were certain after about 15 more minutes that our waitress forgot about us. Not only that... it was extremely hard to get her attention. Finally got our lunch order in and the food was out not too long thereafter. The chicken parm was average. A little too well cooked and burnt on the edges. The cheese, sauce, and pasta were all good. The piccata was also just ok. Perhaps there are other things on the menu that this place does a lot better? I'm hoping so. The restaurant itself was nice with a ton of tables... and not too jam packed. Has a definite Italian feel. The porch/patio is nice with a cover and side walls for when it's cooler or there's weather. For the price point (greater than a $60 lunch for 2 people without alcohol), there are too many other excellent places in the immediate area. Would have to be convinced to come back and try something else.

That filled up quickly, I might add! They have an extensive drink menu, and some great specialty drinks. We started with the Four Cheese Aranchini. Not too bad. The outside was quite hard, and I do wish I knew all four cheeses were in it. The pasta we had was fabulous. My husband ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara. I had a bite, and the cream sauce in that was absolutely delicious. I went out on a limb and ordered something I normally wouldn't, and got the Truffle Fondue Cappellacci. Which is a folded pasta, almost like a ravioli. But I would have to say better. It had a black truffle brown butter sauce on it and I was wondering if it may be a little too sweet, but the aged balsamic was perfect enough to cut through it. And the toasted pistachios on top gave it a slight crunch. The dish was perfect! Just perfect. I ate the whole thing except for one piece of pasta. Who doesn't love fresh pasta, especially when done right & great flavors! Wow. We will be back. We ordered desert to go, so I didn't get any pics but that was probably the best tiramisu I've ever had. I have never had a tiramisu with orange mascarpone in it, but that was something else!!

Once we arrived to the table I provided my wine club membership info and the experience started ok. Following our initial drinks and appetizer/salad being delivered something changed. We waited at least 45 minutes for our pizzas and when we asked for an update the waitress replied the kitchen is backed up and they should be out in 5-10 mins. The pizzas arrived to the table already cut, one was cold, and one we found a white string in. The experience went downhill from there. Upon bringing it to the attention of our server and a manager, we were told pizzas were cut to save time, the server seemed to be aware that the once pizza was not hot saying this is the one that was not hot right, and minimal response was given to the issues. Meanwhile, it had been over 20 mins for a person in our party to get a 2nd drink. I ended up having to find another management staff that identified himself as a corporate leadership staff who did try to help but things did not improve with the service. There were limited bus staff clearing the tables of previously use utensils and dishes. We did not get birthday desserts until after the check was given to us, more than half of experience was dealing with service and food issues, and the check was not reduced comparative to our issues. Furthermore the dessert was a tablespoon of ice cream with caramel drizzle, enough for 1 bite. This was an unacceptable situation experience, I will not visit this restaurant again for a special event or for a weekend night out.
