First of all -- this place is gorgeous! The food was delicious and service was attentive. 5 stars for Victor. He really took care of us. I had the Tacos de Papas Con Carnitas. Victor said they were delicious and he was not wrong! My husband had the combo plate with mole flautas, pastor sopes and enchiladas verde. He loved it! The table also got a Mar y Tierra, which was also very good! Would definitely come back here again!

Don't pmo! I went for taco Tuesday. I don't eat meat they said u can only do pastor, chicken or, asada. Mushrooms & or potatoes are way cheaper. Do better!!! I ordered mushroom tacos they were good but that's not cool. Veggie peeps want to participate in taco Tuesday too! Wtf!!!!

This place came recommended by a friend and it definitely did not disappoint! It's beautiful inside! The food was soooo goood! A little spicy for me; but not so spicy that I stopped eating. I ordered the mole enchiladas and they not only looked beautiful, but the flavors were spot on! The tortillas are homemade and they were stuffed full of chicken. For dessert, we had the fried ice cream and it too was not only beautifully presented, but it tasted so good too! The service was exceptional! We were a large group of 12 and I am happy to say that we all enjoyed our dinner together. I highly recommend this restaurant.

THE FOOD HERE IS INCREDIBLE. I was taken back by how great this place is. After hearing some coworkers rave about this place, I decided to take my wife for dinner on a Friday night and they were PACKED!! Luckily the bar area wasn't busy so we got seated immediately there. Service here was great and our server was on it. The menu here is extensive with a great variety of items. My wife and I decided to share our meal and orders the camarones Zanendaeros and a combo plate with Enchiladas Verdes and a Chilli relleno and I kid you not our food was a 10/10. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE DISHES. Overall, we can't wait to come back and try more item off their menu. Great vibe, great food, decent prices what more could you want. Make sure to keep Rosa Madera in mind the next time your going out for dinner, you won't regret coming here. Till next time!

We have been back a couple times since my last review. I feel like the food has gotten better each time. The quesobirria tacos were delicious. Probably my new favorite thing on the menu. My husband had the potato tacos and really enjoyed them as well. Bar service is always great. Well margarita wasn't my husband's favored so he went back to the Catarino which he loves. Music started at 7. It can get loud but, it creates a fun vibe.

We stopped by Rosa Madera in Camarillo on a Sunday afternoon after a morning of shopping and decided to give it a try. I had actually been to this location years ago when it was a pub and later another Mexican restaurant, so I was already familiar with the space and thought it would be fun to see what they'd done with it. Right when we walked in, we were greeted by a really friendly hostess and seated immediately, which was a great start. The restaurant itself is beautiful, modern, colorful, and inviting without feeling overdone. They also had live mariachi music, which added a fun and lively energy to the atmosphere. Shortly after sitting down, our waiter came by for drinks and brought out duritos with hot sauce and lemon juice instead of the usual chips and salsa. If you've never had duritos before, they are those light, crunchy Mexican chips made from flour that puff up when fried. I honestly thought that was such a fun touch and a nice change from the standard setup you see everywhere else. For drinks, my partner ordered a beer and I tried the Hot Papacito cocktail, which I really enjoyed. It was flavorful, refreshing, and honestly one of my favorite parts of the meal. I ordered the asada nachos, and we also shared another entrée of sopes de asada and birria. Overall, the food was decent. Nothing bad at all, just not especially memorable. The rice was your pretty standard Mexican rice, totally fine, but nothing that really stood out. Honestly, most people compare restaurant rice to homemade family recipes anyway, so that's always a tough category to win. The refried beans were probably my least favorite part. The flavor itself was okay, but the texture was very thin and smooth, almost like a soup. I personally prefer refried beans with a little more thickness and texture. The biggest downside for us was the setup for the live mariachi music. The musicians were talented and entertaining, but some sections of the restaurant felt a little too small for the volume and size of the group. At times it was difficult to hear each other across the table. I think the experience would flow a little better if the mariachi setup was kept more toward the open side of the restaurant where the music could fill the space more naturally. Overall, Rosa Madera has a beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff, fun drinks, and a lively vibe. The food was okay, but the experience as a whole was enjoyable. I'd give it about 4 stars and would still recommend trying it at least once if you're in the area and looking for a fun spot with live music and cocktails.

This spot is definitely a 10/10! Tucked away in Camarillo CA, this gem of a restaurant is an amazing find. Let's start with the decor.. the interior is a mixture of rustic and new, with a heavy Mexican influence. Great spot for a date, family outing or hanging out with friends. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable - with great suggestions. The food... the food is heavenly. Like mana from mount Olympus. From the carne asada to the birria tacos and everything in between... this is one of my new favorite stops! Do yourself a favor amigo, and stop by here and try some of these delicious dishes.

Been waiting a long time to try this spot because of all the hype and reviews from friends -- and we finally made it! As expected, the line was HUGE and it was extremely crowded. I highly recommend making a reservation. We had a party of 8 and booked for 7pm. They did let us know over the phone that the entire party had to be present to be seated, which we completely understood. Everyone arrived by 6:45, we checked in around 6:40, and ended up being seated at about 7:30pm. It was super busy, so it was understandable. Once seated, they greeted us and brought out chicharrones with Valentina -- which I loved. We love a cultural restaurant moment They offer a lot of traditional Mexican dishes and a detailed drink menu with plenty of options. I ordered a cucumber and lemon agua fresca and it was delicious -- not too sweet, just perfectly balanced. For appetizers, we got the trio (chimichanga, tacos de tinga, and al pastor nachos) and that was a solid 10/10. So flavorful and definitely a great choice for the table. For my main dish, I ordered the molcajete. It was good, but not the best I've had. I think it needed a bit more seasoning and flavor. I'd rate it a 6/10 -- not bad, just not amazing. The only downside was our waitress. She didn't seem to be having the best day and came off a little irritated, especially with the size of our party and some of the questions we asked. It wasn't the most pleasant service experience, but we didn't let that ruin the night. Now let's talk ambiance -- 10/10. They had a live group singing old-school Mexican jams, which I absolutely loved because it brings back so many memories. The inside is beautiful with gorgeous murals all around. The vibe is definitely there. I would come back, maybe with a smaller group, and try different dishes to see if something else stands out more. Overall, I'd still recommend checking it out for yourself!

Food was amazing! The carnitas melt with asada fries upgrade is such a unique menu item. It didn't feel too heavy or fatty like it was cooked with a tub of grease. I appreciate that. Service was friendly and there were a couple of Birthday celebrations in the restaurant that night. The staff makes quite the deal with lights, sombrero and the whole shebang! Fun atmosphere The restaurant was very pretty and classy. Date night worthy for sure.

Beautifully decorated. Music choice matched the vibe, not too loud but you can hear every word. Victor was our server and he was very attentive, we never felt like we had to look for him. We had a great experience, the cocktails were delicious. The food was good, a little on the spicier side but still enjoyable. Especially adding the amazing home made tortillas. I really wanted to like this restaurant because the food was honestly very good. We visited for the first time during the week and, while the food was great, the service was disappointing. Our server never made eye contact and spent the entire interaction looking down at the device he was using to enter the order. Instead of greeting us or asking if we were ready to order, he simply said, "What do you want to order?" and "What do you want to drink?" in a way that felt rude and unwelcoming. To make matters worse, my horchata was served in a broken cup. The drink cost around $6, and the cup was cracked enough that it was leaking and spilling. When I politely asked if I could get a different cup because it was broken, the server looked irritated and acted annoyed that I even brought it up. I wasn't complaining about the drink itself I only asked because it was literally spilling due to the damaged cup. We decided to give the restaurant another chance and returned on Father's Day. Unfortunately, we had a similar experience with a different server. She was not friendly, seemed annoyed, and was not attentive to our table. We asked for lemon and never received it until we mentioned it to another employee at the front. Even after that, her attitude remained rude and unhelpful. It's disappointing because the food is genuinely good, but customer service is a big part of the dining experience. We gave the restaurant two chances and experienced poor service both times from different employees. Great food, but the customer service needs significant improvement.

My cousins wanted to celebrate their birthday here. We arrived at 11, and even though they were supposed to be open, they didn't open until about 10 minutes after. Once inside, we were able to sit anywhere we wanted. Unfortunately, some of the tables were not clean, and we had to ask them to clean them before we sat down. Needless to say, it started off rocky. Once our waiter arrived, he made up for all the mishaps. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. I couldn't decide on which drink to order, but with his help, I decided to try "Amor Eterno," but instead of vodka, I asked for tequila. I enjoyed my drink; it was delicious. My sister and I shared a molcagete, which was a pretty large amount of food to share. The molcagete comes with rice, beans, and handmade tortillas. The food was delicious, and everyone was saying how much they enjoyed eating here. The restaurant is so beautiful; I love their decor. I especially loved their artificial trees with red roses on them. It's also a very large restaurant that can accommodate large groups. Overall, we had a great experience here and would go back.

Great food, margaritas, happy hour, ambience, and service. We've had the pleasure of being waited on by Diego. He is extremely efficient and unbelievably nice. You can tell he truly likes people and enjoys giving them a wonderful dining experience because he always has a huge smile on his face. We've enjoyed everything we've tried on the menu and recommend the quesobirria and birria chimichanga. The mango chamoy and pomegranate margaritas are my favorites, but try all of them because they are all very good! read more

I have been wanting to try this restaurant and I'm glad I did. Appetizer, drinks, food, and dessert were all delicious. The Rosa Del cielo was nice and sweet, especially the espresso martini. I have never had an espresso martini made the way they make it here with a hint of banana flavor. I'm sure the other drinks are good as well. Bartender/server was nice, very accommodating to my requests. Going to come back to try the rest of the menu! read more

Each person in our group of 8 had a difference experience with their food. So liked it - chicken salad was good- tacos were ok , enchiladas were ok Had to pay for chips and salsa , didn't like that , salsa was bland, the food items description was better than Joe the food tasted . Service was good our server was nice. She was just very busy things were delayed a bit. Ambiance /decor was nice but they had a mariachi band that was SO SO loud people were covering their ears, and we love mariachi bands Over all it was as OK Been to much better Mexican restaurants read more

Ran back here to leave an updated 5 star review for their Happy Hour here at Rosa Madera. I still absolutely love this restaurant and they are such a breath of fresh air here in Camarillo. For too long Camarillo needed an elevated but fun restaurant and Rosa delivers on all fronts - food, cocktails, ambiance, decor, and service. My girlfriends and I came back tonight as their happy hour menu has dropped. We were super impressed with the amount of options they have for both food and cocktails on the HH menu. The prices are super cheap for how much food they give you. We were shocked! Literally for one cocktail/mocktail and three appetizers split it was only $20 a person. Literally you cannot beat those prices. I haven't had a bad dish here and I'm a sucker for all of their cocktails. Tonight I couldn't drink alcohol and even their mocktails are on point. This is a great place for people who don't drink because they put a lot of flair and fun into their mocktails and for that I felt included and it was fun. Definitely sharing this secret with all of my sober friends. Shout out tonight to Jonathan who was literally the best server and vibe at our girls night table! Super sweet and attentive throughout our two hour yap session. He checked up on us often and was super helpful when we needed mocktail and appetizer recommendations. Such great staff here always but wanted to highlight how personable and on it Jonathan was tonight. Great vibes and we'll definitely be back for happy hour again soon. read more

Popped in for a late lunch. First time in! The transformation from the previous establishments in this building was so cool to see. Last time I was in it was an Irish pub. Love the decor and bright colors. When we went it was during happy hour and Taco Tuesday. Sat at the bar. Quick service as it was not busy. Street tacos were tasty and the margaritas were a hit. What a nice surprise this place was for me recently. I went with a large group and loved it. I had not been inside since it was Brendan's. They've remodeled it and it's fresh and airy. The drinks program is excellent. I found they do not skimp on size or alcohol. I very much liked my equivalent of a pina colada for $15. The food was also excellent. The mocajete was truly divine. The shrimp were large and tasted delicious. All of my party liked their food and we all loved the potatoes brava appetizer. I cannot wait to go back and try more things. The prices were fair and plates were generous. See website for hours and details. Parking is free and plentiful in the lot. It can be noisy and overwhelming for some because they do a big production for birthdays at tables. read more

YES YES YES!! We went here for my husband's birthday and what an experience! We tried going a few months ago when they first opened but the wait was over 3 hours. We decided to come back for an early dinner and had no problem getting a table. The food is extremely fresh and the flavors were wonderful! Margaritas were quite amazing too! Since it was my husband's birthday, they offered him a birthday shot or a small dessert for only 1 extra dollar which was great - came with an embarrassing birthday song and strobe lights! Only negative was no offering of chips and salsa when you get seated. read more

So we went there a couple of nights ago. The restaurant seemed a tad busy but the hostesses were friendly and got us seated shortly after we put our name in. Our server was Michael, who was super friendly and actually remembered us from a couple of months ago (which was the last time we went there). We had out of town guests with us this time and he totally made sure they were taken care of too. I ordered the Bistec Encebollado... AMAZING!! The flavors flowed with each bite. Well cooked, delicious... I can't say enough about it! Between the food, the ambience and wonderful staff like Michael, we will definitely be back!! We came to Rosa Madera on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised to find they had live music. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, with a really inviting vibe. This place is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the vibe pulls you in. The interior is seriously one of the coolest I've seen. It feels authentic, colorful, and full of character! You can tell a lot of thought went into every detail, like the beautiful large murals of Frida and Mary on the walls. The food is just as impressive. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and truly authentic. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but the Enchiladas Verde and house guac were standout. Truly one of the top restaurants I've ever eaten. What really made the experience though was the service. The staff was so welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. Diego is AMAZING! If you're looking for a spot with amazing food, great energy, and top tier service, this is it. Definitely a place you'll want to come back to again and again. read more

Rosa Madera ...where have you been nt whole life? I love this place! Located in the same parking lot as Presto pasta. Never walked into Rosa Madera before. Darker quiet but friendly cozy atmosphere. Sat in the bar area instead of the tables. They serve you the Mexican wheel chips with spicy sauce (addictive yumsies). Always start with drinks. Margarita was deliciously strong. Food...ordered crispy potato tacos (tacos de papa) with every bite so satisfying tasty. Topped with just right amount of cabbage creama, cheese and rojo salsa. Beans and rice was same with a satisfying grin during every bite. Question is how do they make it so much more tastier than other places? Flautas same results but tacos is still my first choice. This place can get busy so be prepared to wait especially on weekends. Parking is plenty but be prepared it may be further in the parking lot during prime times. Came here on a tuesday evening. Had a reservation for a group of 7. Service went super well! Our plates came out pretty quickly within 10 mins of ordering. The pinwheel chips with valentina were fresh and crunchy! It was very beautiful the moment we walked in. Lots of tables. Pictures did make the place look even bigger than it was though. Very lively, loud. Whenever they sang happy birthday, they would blast a song on the speakers. I tried the enfrijoladas con bistec. The rice was super flavorful and the beans were nicely seasoned aswell! The beef that came with it had flavor, wasnt dry at all. It also came with a charred jalapeno and a piece of green onion. My only complaint was that it was made of corn tortilla and was slightly burnt so I could barely cut into some parts. 8.5/10 I also got to try the quesabirria tacos. They were massive! Birria was good and small side of consome was also tasty not too salty or oily! I was not a fan of the beans. It was completely different compared to the enfrijoladas. It did not come with a charred jalapeno which would've made sense. 7/10 Both plates definitely filled us up very well. We would definitely recommend and come back to try something else next time! Also, definitely worth the reservation because even on a tuesday around 5:30, the parking lot was full! read more

Rosa Madera is a wildly lovely experience in Camarillo. We were lucky to have mariachi bands play while we dined! It was a Thursday and the place was bustling with good food and service and ambiance. Our helper was named Camila from Camarillo. She provided lovely service and surprised us with delicious recommendations and surprised us with their favorite virgin drink. NEVER going to this place again!!! Service by the bartender when ordering food or a drink is ridiculously long, they disappear and you never see them. Not to mention my friends were there when I arrived they said the service was OK and then I walked in, sat down next to them & they noticed the bartender's attitude completely changed to avoidance - enough said-horrible service! read more

We arrived just as the place opened on a Tuesday, so we avoided the long lines that we've seen outside on the weekends. As the photos show, the facility is gorgeous. I really wish that the food was commensurate with the decor, but it simply wasn't. All three entres were delivered lukewarm, if that. It all tasted underseasoned and you had to beg for salsa after the fact. All of us felt less than great the following day. The service was adequate. I think that the draw to this place are the cocktails. If you're in your 20s and need a spot to woo-hoo it up with your bachelorette limo friends, this is your spot. If you want great food, I'd suggest somewhere else. read more

My wife took me for my birthday and honestly the service is horrible, the food was delicious to be clear the service is ugly. We understand probably because its weekend it can be very busy, but we had to wait for our table around 30 min and its very reasonable. But we wait on the bar and the service on the bar was horrible, we wait around 10 minutes to get the menu then the bartender with tattoos came take our order and another 20 minutes waiting for it and while he was just talking with some lady's he never made our drinks. After 30 minutes our table was ready and the hostess told us, we must pay our drinks at bar. Even though we never received the drinks, because they can't transfer the drinks to our table. Also the Cocktails tested like a medicine, the güera picosa and the humito de madera was okay but the worse cadillacs margarita I ever had. Honestly I don't recommend the drinks. The food is good the Molcajete Michoacano the cecina is bomb and the appetizer we choose los favoritos. read more

After checking out of our hotel in Santa Barbara and before heading to the Camarillo Outlets, my wife and I stopped at Rosa Madera--and it did not disappoint. We saw a few negative reviews complaining about price or food quality, and honestly, those couldn't be more wrong. This is why you experience places for yourself. Customer service was outstanding. Huge shoutout to our waiter Michael--attentive, fast, and on top of everything--and Juan at the front, who set the tone with a warm, professional welcome. That level of service matters. Now the food... next level. We're LA-based foodies who eat out weekly, and this was hands down some of the best Mexican food we've had. The birria chimichangas were insane, the carnitas were unreal, and my wife's chorizo skillet and mazapán French toast were absolute standouts. Bottom line: amazing food, elite service, and worth every dollar. If you're anywhere near Santa Barbara or Camarillo, Rosa Madera is a must--don't think about it, just go. read more

First time here. The decor is really beautiful here and the food looks amazing. Our server was great; got drinks refilled, grabbed us sauce or whatever the request was quickly. I ordered the Fajitas trio. Yes, the presentation is gorgeous but it just felt like it was a lot of bell pepper. I even asked for them to forget the steak and just do double chicken. I just felt it was a bit too skimpy on the meat. It wasn't balanced at all. The handmade corn tortillas are a nice touch and they tasted great. The rice and beans also had good flavor. Great experience all around. Camilla was an awesome waitress, super attentive, friendly, and made the whole night even better. The food was excellent with really solid portion sizes. The menu felt a step above your classic Mexican spot, more elevated and flavorful without feeling overly fancy or overpriced. Definitely a place we'll be coming back to. read more

Pretty good food, pretty atmosphere. Manager was nice to work with both times when we had a large party. First time we came, someone got food poisoning from their chile relleno (no one else got one and everyone else had similar foods and no one else got sick so we came to the conclusion it had to be that). That was a big bummer. Second time everyone was good and were happy with their meals. Still giving them a 4/5 because I'd like to think that one time someone got sick it was an unfortunate one-time experience. read more

One of the best upscale Mexican restaurants in the area! We stopped in for the first time to try it out after getting the recommendation from a friend, and it was incredible. Everything we got was super tasty. The ceviche tropical was sweet at first from the mango and pineapple, and then the spiciness of the habanero kicked it and blew me away. The homemade salsa was fresh and delicious, the carne asada fries were crispy and flavorful, and the fajitas trio was great as well. The interior design and ambiance was perfect with the nice wall paintings and wood branches throughout. The only thing lacking a bit was the service, as it was a bit slow, but I don't blame them because it was super busy for a normal Tuesday night. Can't wait to go back! read more

Walk in and you'll notice a dimly lit cocktail bar perfect for a date night. Promptly greeted we were sat in a partial booth with a natural wood table, facing the bar. The ambiance at lunch was quiet, relaxing, which I'm told is not the case certain nights when they have a DJ, band, or mariachi. Our waitress was super friendly despite being all over the restaurant, having tables scattered throughout the restaurant, perhaps covering for someone's break. Now to the important part, the food. We ordered off the lunch menu to try several items. Lunch is available Monday through Friday until 2pm. Just a precaution, the lunch menu is $1 more than the picture I posted as they had given me an old menu. We orders the enchiladas verdes, enchiladas con mole, and tacos de papas. Everything came with rice and beans, and everything was pretty tasty. The enchilada con mole were my favorite and probably the best enchiladas I've ever had. They were flavorful with a nice spice to them that lingers but doesn't over power. The Cafe de la olla had a bit too much cinnamon for my taste, but was ok. The horchata was better, refreshing and smooth, doing a fantastic job balancing out the spice. The only downside was the flan, which though it had a decent flavor, it had an odd texture, clumpy/chunky and a little gritty. That's this critic's review, until next time, I'll be eating. read more

When I read some of the reviews I didn't have high expectations because I feel like service is really important and the reputation of every restaurant that was in this building was a failure... but honestly, the food, atmosphere and service was beyond my expectations. We were on the waitlist for only less than 15 min. I expected 45 min but we were seated very quickly. Diego was our server and he was absolutely wonderful and attentive. We loved his energy and kindness. We hope to have him again! The atmosphere and energy of the restaurant was a vibe and we thought it was great. Food and drinks was absolutely fantastic. Presentation and flavors were amazing and thoughtful. I never order enchiladas and the verde enchilada with chicken was perfect. My husband's trio fajitas were cooked to perfection. Salsa was very good. My espresso martini was the best one I've ever had. They use the Mexican cocoa with a toasted marshmallow on top! Loved it. Perfectly crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and paired really well with the caramel sauce. Sweet, but that's exactly what you want from a treat like that. They also offer a good selection of drinks. I went with the guava lemonade and it was a 10/10. Refreshing and flavorful. There is some seating area indoors and more outdoors which is nice, but I do with they had heaters for the outside seating when it gets cold.

You use a provided pair of tongs or plastic bag to pull your choice of pastry from the various trays. We tried two different croissant style confections and both were a hit. Though I have to say these were huge and we brought them home to eat them over a couple of days The fiilings are not overly sweet and have unique tastes like mango or pineapple. The crust is not flaky like a croissant nor is it dense like a cake but something in between with the creamy filling. There are picnic type tables outside on a narrow patio that you may have to clean off yourself if the previous patrons haven't tidied up after themselves. Inside, there's a wonderful, immaculately clean dining area with classic Mexican barrel chairs and tables. The floor is covered in dark tiles and it is very spacious. This is an order at the counter shop with the register and small bodega in the front as you walk in from the street. You place your order from a menu posted above and behind the register. That order is sent to the kitchen and your food is called out when it's ready. Happy hour menu seems to bring in the crowds but I do think there are other places with a happy hour menu that gives you more bang for your buck than here. The food is average in many ways but very comforting. Probably I'd rate all of the different dishes I've tried between 3.5-4 stars depending what you get. I really love their albondigas soup and that's one of my favs. Never steers me wrong. Also their crunchy shell tacos aren't bad. I came for a beef taco with rice and beans and was pleasantly surprised. This isn't Michelin star food people - just classic no frills Mexican food that seems to have kept them operating all this time, impressive if you ask me. The blonde server and the dark hair rude old lady , STILL didn't say a word when we walked past them to leave. Rest assured, they ran to where we sat to see what we left. Weird they all knew where the table was when we weren't sitting there. This crap of a service can stay hidden. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!! I have NEVER been treated this way. The first few times we came here we really enjoyed the experience and the food was great. The previous 5 or 6 times we were there, they were super busy, this time less than one third full. We enjoy sitting at the bar and initially they had higher end bartenders/mixologists who made great unique cocktails and enjoyed conversing with patrons. This last time the bartender was engaged with other parties and though we tried to get his attention and were sitting directly in front of him he didn't pay any attention to us.
