Our entrees were great! Service was wonderful! I was a little disappointed in the rolls, however. They are a bit expensive for what they are. When I saw them as an appetizer, I figured they must be pretty spectacular in someway since most places have bread or rolls as complimentary. OK, went there on a Friday night with friends who invited us to go - forgetting that we had been there before within the last 3 months. How's that for forgettable? My GF ordered a burger and I ordered the chicken and tips dinner. Talk about disappointing! My GF's burger was ok but the chicken on the dinner plate was undercooked and the texture was not good at all. I called a server over and notified them of the condition of the delivered food. The server took the dish back to the kitchen and they delivered me a complete new meal. While a good gesture, the amount of time trey took meant that when my dinner finally arrived, all other parties at the table were done eating their dinners. I tasted 2 pieces of meat and requested a to-go box. I know I will NEVER spend another dime at Ro's Grill. What's amazing is that the food isn't all that great. I suggest Ro's up their game before Old Black Bear opens up their Athens location. 3 out of 10 stars for this place really. read more

This restaurant is always good. My family has eaten here for lunch and dinner on several occasions and the food is consistent, service is good, restaurant is clean. I work in food service and I never have a concern or complaint here. It's a locally owned restaurant and I feel that they take pride in their establishment and the employees do also. Our favorite is the Cash on the lunch menus, and the CBR on the dinner menu. Grilled or fried is delicious either way, fries are delicious and the hush puppies never disappoint. read more

Searching Yelp for an idea for a stop off point for lunch, the reviews for Ro's made this our top choice. We can't say enough about our server, he was simply amazing! Top notch service throughout the meal. When my gf asked for a side of BBQ it took him awhile to get back to us. As soon as he arrived he apologized for taking a little bit, but here was the side of BBQ and if she had never tried it before he thought she might like a Ranch and BBQ mixture he put together. As soon as I saw the Bearded Stuffed Pups I knew we had to try them. Hush Puppies stuffed with Bacon, Cheddar and a mild pepper ..... these were the best hush puppies I've ever had then add in the signature dipping sauce (still don't know everything that was in it) and I could have made a meal out of a couple orders of those. For my main course I had the Pork tacos that were served on naan bread with slaw. These were the best pork tacos I've had. Great flavor and tons of meat. Ended up eating only one taco with the bread and ended up eating the insides of the other two. My gf had the Aloha Burger, another solid choice. I've been twice and have not been disappointed. I've tried the fish and chips and the grilled chicken salad. The chicken on the salad was perfectly grilled and juicy. Their ranch taste like it's made in house and it has the perfect flavor. Their lunch menu includes a drink. This place has great prices. It's a drive because I don't live in Athens, but it's been a great spot for meeting friends. The parking lot is small and a little confusing on which spots or handicap if any because they have both blue and white stripes for the same spot. read more

We stopped at Ro's Grille based on the Yelp reviews, and we are so glad we did!!! The food was delicious, service was pleasant, the price was very reasonable, and the place was packed. I had Three Little Pigs, but they were out of pork (it was toward the end of the day), and asked if it was okay with chicken. It was more than okay. It was scrumptious: flatbread wrap (taco) filled with slaw and shredded chicken, topped with beer cheese (times 3!). Side of crispy, tasty fries and a great big glass of sweet tea rounded out my meal. My husband had grilled shrimp, which came with hush puppies and slaw, with a side of a sweet potato. His review? I give this place five stars. I was staying in the area and found them on Yelp. It was close to my hotel and was easy to get to after my walk. I place an order to go and when I got there it was ready. I ordered the Land n Sea with grilled broccoli. Usually food picked up isn't as good as eating it at the restaurant, but my guess is that this last was as good as it would have been at the restaurant. It was perfect portions and the steak and shrimp were cooked perfectly. I really liked the grilled broccoli. I also got the fried mushrooms which I really liked indeed. Have been here twice. Since it is local wanted to give it multiple chances. It is crowded.. loud. Servers have too many tables. First trip was meh. Second I got food poisoning from the grilled chicken. After we waited for 40(!!) minutes for grilled chicken pita thing and hamburger. Maybe it turned in the window!? Lovely restaurant if the owners had a clue. Bright lights at the bar and throughout the restaurant. Great menu but the food quality didn't justify the menu. Now I know why the ribeye is so cheap! They need to hire a restaurant consultant because they have all the makings of a wonderful opportunity in an up and coming town. They are obviously catering to the locals and are clueless to the fact that outsiders are quickly outnumbering the locals in this community. Misleading from the outside but it's a small & Charming mom and pop dinning. Friendly greeting when we arrived, small wait, 10 minutes- it was a Saturday night @ 6:30. Food was incredible and portions were large. I ordered the catfish tacos, my husband ordered the shrimp po boy and my daughter ordered the chicken strips( made in house, claimed the best she's had @ 11) Waitress was attentive and friendly, Prices were unbeatable ! Very good spot to grab a meal in Athens! We stopped in Athens as a halfway point to Florida and gave this restaurant a try. Very nice staff with generous portions and yummy food. I'm taking off a star for the flies inside of their establishment. Onions straws very good and the burger was tasty as well. If you're not into fast food I'd recommend this restaurant. Ratings below. (Ratings take into account taste, quantity, and presentation, in that order.) Onion Straws- 7/10 quite good however portion could be bigger and a little more grease than I'd like Chips- 8.5/10 Excellent Homemade Chips, Some of the best we've ever had. A few a little dry and they didn't all taste the same but still very good Hush Puppies- 6/10 not very crispy and not as much flavor as we would've liked Fries- 7.5/10 Pretty good with good portions. I don't have a huge knock just not the best I've ever had Burger- 7/10 Not a juicy flattop burger but still quite delicious. Very good portions and I'd consider it a "stand alone" burger meaning you don't need a lot of toppings to make it taste good. With that being said the jack-Jack was very good. I'd recommended it if you like the toppings. Chicken Bacon Ranch- 6/10 Better than fast food or a chain but not special or life changing.
