Ambience was kinda perfect for a dinner setup. Loved their cocktail options with South American presence to it. People out there were friendly and our server Kenya was an example, she was helping us out on food options, checked in and ensured we got our food right. We had tostone and tofu tacos, both were amazing especially the dips available for those. There is this peanut flavored sauce, it was delicious and added great taste to our food. Excellent South American menu and prepared food and drink. Presentation was fantastic and flavor was on point for all dishes we tried. Highly recommend the smoked pisco sour and the arepas. The empanadas and the Brazilian steak were like eating heaven. We had great service and the server was knowledgeable and helpful in menu translation. Found this mid-pandemic and we were delighted to find that their carry out traveled well. Once they started outside dining we enjoyed trying more and more dishes. The ceviche is best I've ever had - really nice size pieces of fish - and the shrimp dish is a family fave! Cocktails are interesting and well made. The cocktails were unique and refreshing. The food is also unique, bold, seasoned perfectly, and tastes amazing and authentic. For cocktails we tried the Caipirinha, Smoked Pisco Sour, Piscola, and the Roots Passion fruit. We got the Pincho, Argentinian Empanadas, and the Spanish Style Bruschetta for dinner. For dessert we got Flan. Everything we had was perfect and fairly priced. It's best to get a bunch of plates and share. We will be coming back to try more from the menu. Highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys trying something new and exciting. read more

This is exactly what Springfield needed. Their menu is pretty diverse. Their meals are hearty. I've enjoyed several of the meat dishes. There is one that I personally am not a fan of, but my husband loved--Pique. And I know many others who enjoy this dish with franks. I love their unique drinks as well--big fan of the pisco sour. Love the presentation. I'm not a huge fan of the inside and the decor. I like the wood at the bar and the wooden tables but the lighting is off and the art is very minimalistic. Not a complaint, but would like to see it a little "warmer" inside. I'll be back many more times to continue to tour the menu! read more

Fantastic food. I just can't say enough about the great food. Springfield has needed something different like this (not a chain) and Roots Latin Grill is it. You can try several dishes at your table like a small dish place, or just stick with your favorite dish for a slightly lighter meal. I highly recommend the empanadas, the Ensenada fish tacos, and the Pincho. read more

Atmosphere is very modern and pleasant. Small plates were all very tasty. Empanadas, shrimp, were the standouts. Nice to have a selection of food different from anything else in Springfield. The restaurant was busy and would recommend ordering all your food at once. Service was inexperienced but hopefully that improves. read more

Have eaten at Root several times. Had Argentinan Chorizpan. The accompanying veggies were tasty snd fresh but the Chorizo was cold which made the dish less tasty. The yucca fries were not quite cooked inside and not hot. The Flan was outstanding , best have eaten. read more

My husband and I have lived in many different cities, have traveled to many places, and have dined at some wonderful places. It was definitely hard when we moved to Springfield with the lack of diverse food offerings. This is by far one of our favorite restaurants. The food is incredible and we have never been disappointed. We have ordered take out and have dined in and both have been fantastic. We have hyped it up to friends and after they went they said it did not hype it up enough. Do yourself a favor and go eat at Roots! You won't be disappointed! read more

Had a most excellent meal and experience at this wonderful Latin Grill. Started with the 'national drink'. Not sure what was in it other than the lime but it certainly was an excellent start to our evening. First course was the Tostones sampler. We had the beef cheese and pork versions. They were excellent. My wife had the Pincho. She loved it and there is extra for me to sample . I had the Pique and it was extraordinary. All my favorite food groups were in this wonderful dish. We had the Tres leches cupcake for dessert and split it and it was wonderful. What a great evening. read more

This review is long overdue. I am really glad this place exists, and that it provides a broad range of Latin American cuisine I haven't been able to find elsewhere in town. I have visited several times for dine in and take out, and had a delicious meal with friendly service every time. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. I like it all! read more

This is a wonderful place. Excellent food (some pretty spicy), service, drinks, and ambience. Menu offers selections from almost all the countries in South America and Latin America, Mexico, and Spain. The flan is the best I've had. Did take out this evening. First time trying the restaurant. We were not disappointed! The pollo saltado was well seasoned and grilled. Extremely flavorful. The rice was perfectly cooked, as were the fries. They held up even as takeout. The picanha steak was also excellently seasoned and grilled. The plantain salad had a nice but not overwhelming sweetness to it. We topped it off with the avocado. Deliciously lime! Overall, highly recommend. Will definitely return. read more

Sorely disappointed by the staff at Roots. We were seated relatively quickly. Then sat at our table for 15 minutes watching wait staff help tables around us and COMPLETELY ignoring us. We finally got up to leave and my husband was being gracious. I was going to be also, but then the waitress said I should have said something. When you're sitting there, menus closed for that long , IT ISN'T MY JOB TO GET YOUR ATTENTION!! And then for you to berate me for not doing so is completely unprofessional. I'd like to give you the benefit of he doubt, but you, young lady, crossed a line. read more

My husband and I went to get sushi but decided we should try Roots which we had thought about trying several times. Kat made the experience so wonderful. I think I would be disappointed if we went and didn't have her serving us again! She was so knowledgeable and helpful. Some friends and I went to try this restaurant when it first opened without much of an idea of what Latin food entailed. We were wonderfully impressed by how tasty and filling all the food was. We had a large group and ordered multiple different items and they were all great!
