Excellent marinated ribeye, very good pizza too. In fact, every thing I've ever had here was good.

I've been going here since I needed a high chair. It's the definition of a small community restaurant and the tenderloins are huge!!

I was eagerly waiting for this place to open since the sign came up and it did not disappoint!…read moreThe place is spacious, the interiors look welcoming and the music is loud enough to drown the voices around but quiet enough that you can hear across the table. But the best part of the place is the food. The buffet (which is the only option for now but a la Carte is coming soon) is aptly priced. There are 10-12 entree options which as many sides, a fully functional salad bar, and soda and desserts. Everything was cooked to perfection and refilled promptly. It was obvious that the whole Padilla family has put its heart into the place. Make sure to try this place ASAP and talk to the owners. You will not be disappointed.

First, the best way to describe this place is a buffet featuring all the items you typically find in the American food section of a Chinese buffet. Blah! It's the stuff your average finicky child might want, like Chicken Nuggets, Hot Dogs, and Mac n Cheese, but not as a feature for a restaurant. They do have a decent fresh salad bar, but not any better or worse than other salad options available in downtown Peoria. My lunch consisted of fresh veggies from the salad bar, with olive oil. The olive oil was of particularly low quality, mostly flavorless. Also had a couple chicken tenders, which were not bad. There were baked chicken pieces, three different types of potatoes, rice, pan broiled white fish, the items listed above, sauteed veggies, pizza bread, and pulled pork sliders. Drinks were sodas, ice tea, and cool aid. Yes, cool aid. Food quality is akin to what you might find at a hospital or cafeteria. With meat being overly greasy and overcooked. At $15 per person, I will spend my money elsewhere. The title of the restaurant is misleading. Nothing multi cultural about it. This restaurant is a way to fill your stomach, full stop.

The empanadas each came with their own curated sauce, which paired very well. The carne and pollo empanada were my favs since the meat was flavorful. The spinach and queso was pretty regular but a good veggie option. The chicken panini was decent, but the plantain chips on the side were phenomenal! They were crunchy, salty, and made the perfect side for the panini. For coffee we got a latte and a cafe bombon (my fav). Cafe bombon was such a delightful, strong, and sweet pick me up. Highly recommend! Overall, this place is such a gem! The owners are kind, the food is delicious, the coffee is flavorful, and the inside of the cafe is beautiful. Definitely stop by even if you're passing through Peoria, you'll live it!

I recommend coming in for a coffee date or girlie lunch with your besties :) I will be back! I got: 1x empanada (jamon y queso) 1x empanada (espinaca y queso) 1x hot latte total was about $20. I think I'll get one empanada for me and share the other half of one with my partner next time. the guacamole salsa is really REALLY good (it's not your typical super avocado forward guacamole but like a salsa that has avocado in it) and the spicy salsa is a manageable & tolerable spice level for my spice palate.

There are two locations in town, and I went to the one on East Jackson Street. I was immediately seated in a booth. Water and chips arrived before I could open the menu. The chips were excellent, and the salsa was quite good, though surprisingly oregano-forward (I'm pretty sure that was the flavor). It's like they replaced the cilantro with oregano. Unusual, but tasty. I ordered the Alambres dinner, and this massive plate of food instantly appeared. I don't know what kind of magic they have going on in the kitchen, but I've never seen dinner arrive that fast. Delicious rice (perfectly cooked and seasoned), a nice pile of lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, etc. But the star of the plate: lots of shrimp, thin strips of steak and chicken, sauteed yellow/red bell peppers and onions, smothered in a cheese sauce. All very tasty, perfectly seasoned and cooked. The cheese sauce was a little thin for me, but that's a very minor issue with this impressive plate of food (it was so much food that I ended up finishing it later that night in my hotel room - still good). The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was fast and good, and the price was ridiculously low.

The queso was smooth, creamy, and incredibly addictive, you'll definitely find yourself reaching for "just one more chip." For my entrée, I ordered the Arroz con Mariscos, and it was an outstanding value at only $17.50. The portion was generous, loaded with grilled shrimp and scallops, all covered in a rich, creamy cheese dip. It came with rice, fresh guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, and tortillas, making it a complete meal that easily justifies the price. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and comfortable. The restaurant has a great ambiance that's perfect whether you're meeting friends, having a family dinner, or just enjoying a meal after a long day. Between the excellent appetizers, generous portions, fair prices, and friendly service, Ranch Nuevo continues to be one of my favorite spots for Mexican food.
