Considering most of the patrons were drinking light beer, we didn't expect a lot in terms of the cocktails, but we underestimated this place! The friendly and very competent person behind the bar (could have been the manager, not sure)- was happy to take your likes & dislikes and make a recommendation. From mezcal margs to black walnut old fashioneds, my husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed our well made drinks. Also relative to Chicago - a total bargain!

I wanted to only stop by for a few drinks but I definitely enjoyed my visit simply because it felt like I was back in time into a 1870s saloon but it's way more modern. It's got cool Pina Colada wine slushies. Bands are featured here. Coming here late at night too is just great simply to engage with the locals around here and not really bump into any tourists. Bathrooms are clean, establishment itself is very clean. Prices are fair and the bartender was really friendly. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

When we got into town, we headed to the cave but didn't have enough time to go in, so we headed over to the winery for 45 minutes. The inside is quite spacious and plenty of place to lounge while having a glass, flight or bottle of wine. They also have an outdoor area with umbrella tables, firepit and what looks like a stage for live entertainment. Paige was extremely helpful with our wine tasting and also some good local things to try. Our Wine tasting notes: Mark Twain: one of the dry reds, but smooth and fruity. Could be dangerous. Would be good with spicy food. Hometown: definitely dryer with slight fruit flavor. Not too bold or strong. Roundhouse: Not from this winery.. Definitely dried out the tounge and more fruity on the back. Strong bold flavor on first sip. After the 3rd it went down very smooth. Would be great with beef for sure. Mischief: Peppery smell, but a surprise that is doesn't seem as dry as the last two. Seems more tart than the others. Very yummy.
