Kitchen sink was draining slow. Standard issue on an older home. Grease accumulation over time, regardless of how careful you may be, adds to the clogging of the pipes. Scheduled a 2 hr window and the scheduler called right at the end of the window to proactively say the guys in the truck where on the way. Very courteous. The guys showed up were respectful, courteous, proficient and took care of the problem at the special ad rate. I had some other non-urgent fixes they gave quotes on. I definitely respect their honesty. There appears to be some room on prices so don't feel pressured. They were very good at providing information and NOT hard selling. Very honorable. I am very comfortable endorsing this professional plumbing firm. read more

I needed my kitchen sink snaked out and called Rooter Solutions. Ryan came over on time, to checked it out. Not only did he clear my drain, he explained everything to me. About the pipes, the old building and what happens. He was very professional and very informative. Ran the snake twice to make sure it was nice and clear. I will definitely use Rooter Solutions again. I hope I get Ryan. read more

Needed a quick weekend response to a broken pipe and they provided it. Morgan, their technician, responded promptly and very quickly fixed the break and gave us some peace of mind from this unexpected situation. Thanks! read more

They begin with their ad stating $54 to clean a drain. Small print says that amount is for a drain "with proper access". After signing many documents presented to me by "Morgan", I did feel rushed into signing, not even being able to see or read the documents, but Morgan seemed nice and honest, so I put my trust into not reading any of the multiple documents that I signed on his lap top (a finger signature required). My husband and I both knew the drain was plugged directly under the sink, because my husband ran a hose down the outside drain pipe prior to our even calling a Rooter Solutions. But when Morgan got here, he still put the snake into the outside main drain. He said there was a "lot of grease, etc" in the pipe, and it should be "flushed" out. He then went back into the kitchen sink and said it would cost $189 to check and clean out the drain pipes under the sink!!! This was a bait and switch. I thought, oh well, the plumber is here already, so told him to "go for it", even though my husband said to him the cost seem high to simply take off the drain pipe to snake it out, considering it only takes 5-10 minutes to take the pipes off. After he took off the pipe, he then noted that the clog was within the wall, again reiterating to me that we should power flush all of our drains. He was then going to charge me $189, wherein my sink was still not draining. Their ad states "It drains, or you don't pay!" I pointed these ad discrepancies out to Morgan, and he said he would have to bring his manager back to see what could be done. The manager came back with a camera to stick into the main drain, pointing out to me the "grease" and the whole house should be flushed. It would cost $1100, but if I would pay the $189, I would become "one of their members" and I would then get a 20% discount. I finally decided to call another plumber (a relative whom I should have called in the first place), and explained to him what was happening. I put him on speakerphone with Morgan. My relative plumber, a cousin, told Morgan that since the plugged part is in the wall pipe, flushing that section would make a mess, and that he should just cut off the pipe near the wall and snake that section. Morgan most likely thought my cousin wasn't a very knowledgeable plumber, but I informed Morgan to leave the pipe he took off and just place it in the sink. My cousin will be by tomorrow morning. My cousin arrived at 10:00 a.m., quickly checked the main sewer line and saw that there was no in that main line, which certified that the clog was only in the wall. He quickly snaked that short piece of wall pipe, and PRESTO!, after filling up the kitchen sink with water and letting it drain, the water quickly vanished. I would never call Rooter Solutions again, and my cousin also advised me to never call any of the big plumbing companies that advertise at all costs on television and radio. He named them off to me, but I will not repeat their names. My cousin said they are all only concerned with making money, no matter how unscrupulously they present their bait and switch. I did end up paying Rooter Solutions $54, but only to avoid further disputes or claims since I did sign so many documents. read more

TOTAL set up ! Called for a simple drain to be unclogged . A young man came out and starts to snake the pipe , messes around for about 10 minutes and says he thinks their are Roots clogging the pipe and that he already called out his supervisor . Sure enough the supervisor comes out with a camera that of course doesn't work because the pipe is clogged ...... tells me I have to spend 950.00 to power wash the pipe so the camera would be clear to see the problem . About this time I notice the young man never put a TIP on the snake !!!!! This is when I asked the young man if after all his Snaking , did he check to see if it was now unclogged ????? He shockingly said NO I haven't checked !!!!! That's when I knew this was ALL staged ! Services were declined . Most people would have been scammed . The next day another company came out and unclogged it in about 7 minutes . He said this is a KNOWN scam in this industry ! First thing he asked was ..... did they have a TIP on the snake ! NOPE read more

In the process of getting the pipe replaced going into the septic tank. Initially called for a clogged drain and had an amazing technician, Dylan that cleared it out. This is an ongoing problem with a super old pipe going into the septic tank so it always gets clogged and had plumbers come out and say they'll remove a clogged drain for $69 and then end up charging $250 before leaving. This company was very honest and honored their online special to clear the clogged drain for $55 so my thoughts were that they were going to be fair. I got a quote to dig up the area and replace the old pipe going into the septic tank for $3,200 with an estimated time of about 2 days. I had a similar quote in the past. They dig out the area and find that there is concrete patched up around the septic tank that they'll have to chip away. Now the price is $1,000 more, and completion time is the same time as before. I don't get it. read more

In the first week of January we had a sewer drain blockage. The sewer pipe runs under the house in the cement slab from the northwest corner (washing machine) to the southeast corner where it exits from under the house. Approxamately 50 feet. The distance to the street is twenty feet from the house. At the street it is six feet underground. I called Rooter Solutions who ran a snake down the sewer cleanout access next to the washing machine. After two attemps using two different snakes they announced that they would have to access the blockage in pipe from the other end, outside the house. They would have to dig down six feet in my yard to access it. They initially quoted $7000. They later changed it to $5000. I asked the cost if I dug the hole and they quoted $3500. I said hold that thought. I'll get back to you. My gardener quoted $500 to dig down to the pipe. Just to be sure, I called another drain cleaner company to snake the drain. They put the snake in the same drain as Rooter Solutions and they cleared the drain in less than one minute. So the lession learned is to always try a second opinion or service if you are quoted an insanely huge amount of money to fix the problem. read more

Ryan was professional and friendly. He helped me clear my drain and did a great job. Highly recommend

"It drains or you don't pay" is their slogan, and they really mean it. I thought I'd try them to clear two area drains after receiving their Spring Savings drain cleaning offer in the mail. When I called, I was given a same-day appointment ... and Junior arrived about 2 hours earlier than scheduled. He tried snaking the lines but hit obstacles, namely the 20+ year old lines had been invaded by roots. Another tech, Blake, confirmed this with video of the lines. Since they couldn't clear the lines, there was no charge for the service call. read more

Great and thorough job by Morgan clearing out my shower drain. Fast response from the company.

They broke sprinklers while putting in drains or just took sprinklers out and they said they will put them back they just put them in the ground connected to nothing. Installed drains that are just in the ground going no where filling up with water that doesn't connect to anything. Damaged the whole yard!! Fraudulent company. Showed the boss how the pipes are just sitting in the soil not connected to anything and got a silent response just stared at us like it's our fault. No words. No apologies. No shock. Interesting update. 7/18/23. Just got off the phone with a supervisor from the California State Licensing Board. Rooter Solutions does NOT have a valid and current license as plumbers. They will be receiving a warning letter from CSLB. If they continue to operate unlicensed, they will be fined. I encourage everyone who even considers using this company to find someone else. If you must call them, check their plumbing license status first. They are the worst. read more

I rarely write reviews because I am incredibly busy and I forget or just don't make time for them. However, I have to write a review for rooter solutions. They were amazing from start to finish. My mom used their company a few months ago and felt like they were honest and fair. They fixed one thing that was broken so she called them back out to look at her garbage disposal, which was done correctly it is just small, and they didn't charge her anything. Fast forward 3 months when I needed help. I called then because my mom was so happy with them and Pablo came out, which happened to be my moms plumber, and he recognized her, and offered to place a camera free to see what the damage was or what needed replaced/fixed. It turned out to have cracks and breaks all throughout (this house was built in 1960s). We then discussed our options and I had a huge project all of a sudden. To put it mildly, I was stressed and disappointed but this company really was wonderful. I got financing through them immediately and they started the next day. They had to jack hammer through concrete in my garage and dig up my whole front yard which was turf, to lay all new piping and they had to drill through my bathroom to replace all the existing pipes as well. It was a mess. However, these guys worked so hard and efficiently and I basically had all that work done in a week. Minus a few things here and there that they will need to finish this week but everything is livable :). Honestly I would NEVER call anyone else. They truly did seem to care and were honest from start to finish. They showed me everything and gave me options and scenarios without pressuring me into anything. Mark and Pablo were who I spoke with mostly but their entire team is amazing!!!! Thank you for the least amount of stress in such a big project and decision. read more

We have used Rooter Solutions in past for snaking drains, THIS time was a nightmare. We have a break in our main, I was told I needed to sign a contract for $22,000+ for a kitchen pipe re-route, I did so and paid a deposit, I was told job would be completed in 3 days, I asked multiple times for my contract, never received it, I was then told we had to reroute remainder of house, and 1st contract would not have warranty until 2nd contract was signed, THEN I was told 1st job could not be completed until I signed for another $48,000. Was told my driveway & garage needed to be jackhammered up, pipes couldn't be re-routed outside house Equipment used was not professional, 18 foot crack in my driveway, chipped & cracked concrete on trench in garage. day 4 trench still wasn't dug. 4 guys on jobsite, 1 shovel, but lots of cigarette butts. Was told crew doesn't work Saturdays, website shows hours Monday-Saturday. Was harassed, lied to & completely taken advantage of. Rooter Solutions was completely out of their league on this job, stick to snaking & drain clearing. DO YOUR HOMEWORK, get multiple quotes. It's against CA law to do work for over $500 without a contract. read more

We called Rooter Solutions out to fix our upstairs toilet that had overflowed - they diagnosed the problem after snaking the drain -- our 40 year old toilets simply needed replacement. Their initial diagnosis was very reasonably priced. We purchased 3 new toilets and they came back out to replace them, as well as an angle stop, and again, a very reasonable price for labor. Joseph was super sweet and we felt 100% comfortable with him in our home, along with others on his team who came out to help him finish up late on a Friday afternoon. I'm so happy to find a great team of plumbers, and will definitely reach out to Rooter Solutions again for any future plumbing issues. read more

I guess they forget about customer service after they get $16,000 from you, at least that's my experience. I have been waiting on documents from Rooter Solutions to send to my home insurance company for well over a month and have called multiple times to follow up with them to no avail. I can't make a claim because they have not provided the necessary documents. I was told they would get the documents to me back in September. I am not pleased. read more

I was so happy to find an affordable plumber these guys saved me from a ridiculous price someone else wanted to charge me.

Lost my main sewer line to the septic tank. Called Rooter solutions, they said they could have some one out that day to look at the problem. Very friendly people answering the phones, very professional. Special Kudos to Alejandro and Andrey. They stayed out in the cold and dark to make sure we could use the house plumbing that evening. I originally had this company come out using a weekly coupon to snake & examine a slow drain with their camera. They were wonderful! Friendly, competent, & it was a great price. Then, another drain stopped working. So, I called them again. What they found was a serious problem. My home is 65 years old & had still the original cast iron sewer lines. One had corroded & cracked. It was leaking under the slab foundation. I got to see everything the camera showed & supervise the job from start to finish at each phase. My opinions on how I wanted things done were accepted graciously & implemented, while the technical aspects were explained clearly so that I could make informed decisions. Which, as a woman, I found very refreshing. It seems this kind of problem is their speciality. I was in one of those 'emergency' situations & the work needed to be done immediately. I must admit the price quote freaked me out. But they folded all the earlier work charges into that total & I didn't have time to go looking for other bids. So, I signed with them to do it. The old adages "You get what you pay for" & "You pay for what you get" both applied here. The team excavated under my home thru tunnel openings they jackhammered out of the slab in my laundry room & an outside walkway as if they were archeologists searching for Pharaoh's Tomb. They ran into many & varied unexpected problems but just handled them as part of the deal. They also managed to avoid damaging as much of my floor & wall tiling as possible & protected the areas they worked in from unnecessary damage. Using the most modern tech, they recreated a new sewer main, replaced all 4 sink, 2 toilet, & 2 shower drains from UNDERNEATH the slab! Only the back-to-back toilet closets required removing some existing tile floor inside the house in one bathroom. And they kept that hole as small as humanly possible. They also brought the main sewer line cleanouts up to the latest building codes with respect to septic tanks. The new cleanout close to the tank is a "pop-up" so that if the tank ever backs up it will release itself outside, instead of coming into the house. They even made it possible to clear the kitchen & laundry room sink drains thru a second cleanout at the other end of the main without going inside the house. The concrete installation crew did a wonderful job refilling the holes, too. Fernando helped me arrange for an instant, interest deferred* loan to get the work done, as well. When all is said & done, I am thrilled by the job they did. All their people were wonderful. Joseph had been the main lead on this job & I adore his great customer service attitude. There was nothing I needed or wanted that he wasn't ready to do himself or send someone to handle if it wasn't his area of expertise. As with most such jobs, it took longer than estimated (Murphy's Law applies, & his wife & kids will certainly stop by). I just accepted that fact. And, there will DUST! Lots & lots of fine, nose-irritating DUST!!! Protect &/or cover EVERYTHING you can, even if you think the dust won't get that far. Have some extra rags available to soak up water in case they are needed. BTW: *Be aware that deferred interest loans are tricky. If you can't be sure you are able to pay each monthly payment on time & in full, AND pay off the 'balloon' at the end of the deferred period BEFORE the due date they will cost you many times what the job costs, depending on how long it takes you to pay such a loan off. I knew I was able to set up my future finances so that I could do that. Please READ any such loan contract VERY carefully. 25% or more interest is NOT something you want to be charged! read more
