Tech went as scheduled and told me he did a quick check at the unit and then to the electrical panel. And said now if he needs to go into diagnosis, it will cost $175 , and either he can fix it OR that $175 will be used to swap a new unit at $4xx. Since I'm remote, I can only agree to it to move forward. 10mins later, got a call from the tech saying, "there are good and bad news! Good news, the unit was indeed completely fine and it's working alright. The unit was slightly "UNPLUGGED" from the outlet and it works perfectly after I plugged it back in. Bad news, the $175 is due. " I appreciate that the "diagnosis" save me hundreds instead of replacing a fully working unit, but I would have thought the first free initial check should have looked at the connection in the first place. Definitely feel a bit rip off BUT they did give me a small discount in the end. I'm not expecting free work BUT $150 to get someone out to plug it back in? Is that the norm?

I had to tell the plumber how to do his job. He takes his screw driver and starts trying to push down on the drain and stabbing it. He says I have to go through the drain because of the p trap. No snake is going to fit through there. It's a small opening. Every plumber I know goes through the over flow to snake it. He finally does what I suggested and magically he gets the hair. My drain is free. I decide to double check his work and look at the pipes through my access panel. Lo and behold now I have a leak from his screw driver stabbings. He comes back and tells me this happened because it's old and illegal? WTF are you talking about? Everything was good until you Fd up. He wants to charge me 300 to replace the tub stopper and 1200 to replace the pipes in the leak he just caused!!!!! We are not in the same world. I told him no thank you! Do not use this company!!! They will cause you more problems, don't take accountability and will double charge you for their mistakes!!!

He explained the root causes, showed me the evidence behind his recommendations, and even cleaned items he noticed during his inspection. As an engineer, I particularly appreciated his approach. I've worked with plenty of contractors where recommendations can feel commission-driven. I never got that impression from Elias. Luckily, I called Henley's Plumbing, and they managed to schedule a technician to arrive by 6:00 PM. Since it was late on a Saturday, I didn't expect much, but David and another team member arrived exactly on time. After diagnosing the issue, they had to remove the toilet and discovered that tree roots were causing the clog. Since the toilet was out, I decided to replace both toilets in my house. Despite the late hour, David and his partner went out to purchase the new toilets, cleared the root clog, and stayed until 10:00 PM to finish the entire installation. I was amazed by their willingness to stay so late on a weekend just to ensure my family had working toilets. To make things even better, David promised to return on Monday with a camera to inspect the pipes for cracks. True to his word, David showed up on Monday with two other team members.
