Katelyn is a talented girl. A bit pricey but worth it. I absolutely enjoyed my new haircut and highlights.

I've been a loyal client of this salon for over two years and have always enjoyed my experience, which is why this situation was so disappointing. I understand and respect that businesses have cancellation policies. However, I had an unexpected death in my family that required me to leave the state. I called approximately 22 hours before my appointment to explain the situation as soon as I found out and was told they would speak with the stylist (Selina) to see if there was any way to work something out given the circumstances. Instead, I received a call the next morning informing me that my card was charged nearly $200. Knowing that my circumstances had been communicated to the stylist and that the decision was still made to charge the fee made the experience even more disheartening. Life emergencies happen, and the loss of a family member is not something anyone can plan for. I wasn't canceling because I changed my mind or found something better to do. I communicated as soon as I reasonably could and hoped that, as a long-time client, there would be some understanding and flexibility. After this experience, I was left with the impression that the cancellation policy took precedence over any consideration of the circumstances or the relationship built with long-term clients. I fully understand why policies exist, but I also believe exceptional customer service involves using discretion when someone is facing an unavoidable family emergency. Reading the salon's responses to other customers with similar concerns gave me the impression that policies are consistently prioritized over empathy or finding a reasonable compromise. I hope this experience encourages the salon to consider that showing compassion in extraordinary situations can leave a much more lasting impression than strictly enforcing a policy. I had blonde colored hair. She convinced me to turn it another darker color, and costed over $350. It was not worth the price or the color change. read more

They lie about signing a policy for missed appointments. Missed one appt. Due to an emergency. Forgot to call. They charge my credit card $400.00 and said a policy was signed. I never signed one. I saw other reviews on here about their unprofessional behavior and charging . I don't recommend, The haircut isn't worth the price, Found a better salon now, with experienced stylists who treat you with value and know how to cut hair. read more

Katelyn goes above and beyond for her clients in every way. I've been a client for the last year and am SO glad I finally found a fit. The entire team is extremely talented, kind and professional and they make everyone feel amazing from the moment you walk in until the time you leave. Highly recommend Rooted!!! read more

They failed to tell my fiancé about her appointment coming up and then pro to take $400 out of her account which she did not sign a document of consent about this so called charge. Would not recommend. read more

Since they don't take feedback well in Facebook- I've been forced to come here where they cannot block you. There are some changes going on here- which is fine. But kicking out your stylists and canceling appointments 12 hours before you have them- bad business. Especially after making a post that all appointments will be valid and kept until November 1. This morning was the first time i had the pleasure of having my hair cut and colored by Katelyn proprietor of Rooted Salon and I must say I enjoyed every minute! From the first greeting by Katelyn and Gabby I felt not only at home but knew I was going to enjoy a throughly professional experience. Both ladies were outstanding! Katelyn, took the time to consult with and find out who I was and what I'm looking for, gave honest opinions when asked (regardless of monetary advantages to her) and ending up giving me one of the best haircuts and colors ever..... and trust me. I've been around the block quite a few times with salons all over the US and abroad. Needless to say I highly recommend Rooted Salon and have already scheduled subsequent appointments. The coffee was good and the owner was nice. The stylist seemed rushed even though I had an appointment. Came in asking for a new style, specified I was interested in long layers, face framing and a light bang. What I got was a heavy bang that was cut straight across, no face framing and no layers. When I got home, it really hit how bad a haircut it actually was. I had to go to a different salon where, fortunately, the stylist was very friendly, did an excellent job fixing what she could (she thought it was a very poor cut) and gave me an actual style for much less. Lesson learned, will not go back to Rooted and would not recommend. read more

I've been going to Rooted for years! The moment I walk in the door, I'm greeted with warmth and friendliness - everyone makes me feel welcome. And Danica does magic every single time I sit down in her chair (and trust me - my requests can be all over the place!!). Bonus - in the cute space where you wait for your hair to set, there's usually something delicious to snack on or coffee/tea to warm you up. Couldn't recommend this place more! read more

I got a botox treatment and it was shy from terrible.... My hair is thick and curly/wavy. The most disappointing part was that the girl couldn't even straighten my hair without burning it with the flat iron, which I normally skip when I go to my hair dresser. I feel like because my hair wasn't straightened properly, the treatment didn't work much, just made my hair a bit softer. Not to mention my hair was super oily and she only did two washes and left it dirty. I felt super gross...I had to wash my hair four days later because my face broke out in a rash from what I think was either the hair treatment or just my hair. If you are sick and need to reschedule your appointment even calling days ahead, the owner Katelyn is nasty and says she wants to charge you and then refuses to allow future appointments... oh and btw Katelyn had an emergency and had to cancel her appointments for the same day... I've gone to Rooted twice now for a cut and color and both times I was extremely disappointed. The assistants who shampoo hair are very friendly and good at their job. The stylists, however, are so rude and charge you an obscene amount for everything. I felt like I was getting my hair cut by the mean girls in high school. When I asked to come back to get my color fixed (I paid 200 dollars to get the red out of my hair and walked out with the same color) they told me they were going to charge me again to come back two days later because I chose the "budget friendly option." What did I pay $200 for? They make it very clear that if you don't want to pay hundreds of dollars every time you go in that you won't get good service. read more

Came here to bleach my hair on a whim for a school charity. Wife begged me not to do it...she ended up loving it! It looked so good I came back to get it done again in the summer. Haircut was awesome too. EVERYONE here is so friendly, welcoming, and professional. Oh yea, when they heard that this was being done for charity, they didn't charge me for the cut or color, but told me to pay it forward instead. Brandon and Katelyn are good people. I had a very bad experience at Rooted Salon. To summarize: My hair is 1.5 to 2 inches uneven on both sides. Then the owner did not show up to our appointment to fix my uneven cut. I hadn't had my hair cut since March because of Covid 19. After I checked reviews online, I made an appointment with Lauren since she has good reviews. She was very polite, but I found immediately after the cut that my left side is about 1 to 2 inches longer than the right side. It was so obvious that I saw it even without my glasses. I told her and she corrected it a little bit, but did not even wet my hair before her correction. It will take a lot of time to do the whole head correction. In the next couple of days, many pictures I took clearly showed the uneven cut. I contacted the owner and sent them three of my pictures. The owner Katelyn told me: "We do not offer any refunds but I can offer you the opportunity to come in and have it corrected. This appointment will not include a wash or style, just the corrective haircut." I accepted it and visited the salon at the appointment time. However Katelyn wasn't at the salon. I was told she was quarantined and waiting for her Covid 19 result. Katelyn DID NOT NOTIFY ME AT ALL that she cancelled our appointment. This is not professional behavior. For the $55 price plus tip, I am very unsatisfied with their services. Both the quality of their job and the way they treat their customers are unbelievably terrible. Maybe they thought they could treat me like this just because I have an accent and a foreign appearance...this is the first time that a salon owner has done this to me. I have been to Rooted one time and loved my experience, mind you this is after being double booked and told I needed to change my appointment because they did not have enough chairs. I refused to cancel my scheduled appointment days before a wedding. I then went to book another appointment which was scheduled for a specific date, and I then was asked numerous times to reschedule because of staff. The front desk women are very disrespectfully and will hang up on upset clients. They will charge your card under assumptions, double book clients and rush them out the door. 100% will not recommend anymore. read more

I would like to give this place a review but I can't. I was new to the Lehigh Valley and this place came highly recommended so I made an appointment. Then Covid hit. The state hadn't closed everything yet and I was not sure if my appointment would be cancelled. Apparently the salon closed down but I never received any notification that this had happened even though they had my contact info. Once salons reopened, I thought they would reach out to all appointments that had been cancelled to try and reschedule but I never heard anything from them. So disappointing considering what I had heard about them. Too many other choices around that care about customer service. What a disappointment! read more
