I searched high and low for different vendors that fit the fusion that we wanted, but couldn't find anything that fit just right (or that didn't break the bank). Then I somehow stumbled across Rebel Catering on Google. They had a wide variety of packages for food varying from Asian, to bbq, to Mexican. They didn't have a ton of reviews, and it seemed like they mostly did corporate events, but I gave them a call. I'll be honest, I was a bit apprehensive of how incredibly chill Rahul is at first (because I was already stressed out), but when I told him about our vision, he immediately checked with his chefs and created an incredible menu for us. My mom and mother in law's primary request was copycats of the other restaurant's corn fritters, and he even delivered on that. I'll attach a picture of the menu, but our minds were blown at the quality and freshness of the food. Buffet style brisket is HARD and he and his team crushed it. I even had friends with allergies and he accommodated them without question. The most popular part of the night though was the shaved ice. Part of Rebel Catering is their shaved ice package with alcoholic shaved ice (TABC bartender included). They had custom flavors to match our Asian fusion theme, and even brought their truck in to serve our guests! They also created a custom flavor named after our cat and created a sign with a cute cartoon of him. They also had tons of other drinks including sodas, jelly drinks, boba drinks, and energy drinks. We had such an amazing time on Lake Travis thanks to Willo and Float On. Willo gave superb instructions on operating and piloting the boat including an overview of relevant customs and laws while out on the water. Our group had six adults and one 2-year old and they had plenty of water safety devices for all ages. On a side note, it was wonderful to see how genuinely excited Willo was about Lake Travis once again having a healthy water level after several dry years. In terms of our experience on the lake, we got excellent advice on where to travel based on our team's interests and after following his directions it felt like we had arrived on our own private lake. We probably only saw a handful of other boats during our 3-hour excursion and that was only in passing. The boat came with a Garmin GPS that made it really easy to retrace our steps. For those wondering, there was excellent cell phone service out on the lake and we were able to use our phone GPS, make calls, and stream music. The boat had some nice integrated speakers with Bluetooth connectivity and we were able to jam out to our own tunes. There was also a cool flotation device attached to the back of the boat called the Aqua Lily Pad which we unrolled after anchoring, we had multiple adults laying on it without sinking into the lake. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience and we would highly recommend booking with Float On.

He was introduced to me as the boat owner and came across as relaxed and not at all pushy--qualities I appreciate when considering a business, especially since part of my motivation for attending was to explore options for my birthday celebration. Unfortunately, Paul's friends left a negative impression. A couple of them outright refused to acknowledge me, turning away when a gentleman attempted to introduce me. Others made inappropriate jokes about my accent in a condescending and offensive manner. One individual even made vulgar comments, implying that Paul should get my phone number to discuss event planning details later, which was completely unprofessional and inappropriate. While the event itself was enjoyable, the boat ride interesting, the behavior of those around the boat owner and the fact that the boat owner never replied to my text message trying to discuss my event, was disappointing and detracted from my overall experience. This experience left me with a negative impression of the boat's management, and I strongly feel that they are not welcoming to immigrants. The group consisted of older white men whose behavior was filled with prejudice and hostility. And for that reason I felt compelled to post a review discouraging people like me- and those against this type of behavior - to stay away and make better choices. We can use our money to invest in a much better experience elsewhere I left the boat traumatized and truly disgusted by those old men behaviors. Do better!

When I signed up with Lifetime Fitness, I made sure to set up a tab to ensure unfettered access to both the cafe and the salon, in the case of a dietary or manicuring emergency. Thankfully this is a tab that is taken care of for me, so I've shown remarkable restraint and judgment in its use. Clearly, that concept is new territory for me. As far as food goes, my go-to meal is the turkey avocado that comes warm on ciabatta bread (sides include a small salad with balsamic dressing, and a cup of fruit). There's a wide variety of sport drinks, but I just stick to Evian. Also, when I forget to bring my water from home (which happens a lot), I can just pop in here and get what I need. Life Cafe lists relevant nutrition facts beneath all of its offerings, and I wouldn't expect anything less from a cafe located inside a gym. And while the totals on carbs and fats may seem high to me, it's usually easily integrated if I have burned enough calories during the previous workout. It's supposed to promote LifeCafe's Nutrition Philosophy: "Avoid 'dieting' (Translation: Eat, damn it); Whole, natural foods (versus fat and sugar dipped in chemicals); Proper hydration (yeah, but where's the Voss in the pretty glass bottles?); Food as fuel (so I will be strong enough to drink and hold court later); Mindful/sensible eating (as opposed to mindless, unaware consumption of crap); Body awareness (Believe me, I'm body aware...of mine AND yours); and Personal responsibility" (Well...I do take the extra couple seconds to recycle my water bottles and spoons, does that count?). Prices are reasonable, and there are several specials for $3, $4 or $5 depending on the meal. Of course there's a whole list of different smoothies or parfaits to choose from as well. BE CAREFUL, though. Not all menu items are automatically "healthy"; at an afternoon tasting, the Lifetime woman wanted to make sure I was aware that the BBQ chicken pizza wasn't low-fat by any means. Obviously, I already knew this, but you'd be amazed how many people probably don't. That's why they have clipboards with sign up sheets for nutrition classes available at these things. In addition to made-to-order food, there is a whole wall of energy bars, protein powders, and even gluten-free snacks. I'm not sure how prices compare to a store like GNC, but I'll occasionally grab something if I forgot to pack my own Kashi bar. The aroma of warm bread is pervasive in the lobby, and is perfect for enticing people to stop in. I suspect they do it on purpose, because even when no one is in there, I smell that delicious bread. I swear they are probably required to press a piece of bread every hour just to keep the aroma around; maybe I should ask my friend who works there the next time I see her. The moral of the story? If you're a member of Lifetime Fitness and haven't tried LifeCafe, give it a whirl. I'm sure you'll find something you'll like. Just don't check in enough to take away my Dukedom. 4 Stars.

They also have ready-made salads and wraps. They have beverages such as topo Chico. They sell Siete chips. They have an adjoining room with a sitting area and a bar where they serve beer and wine. They also have some seats in front, outside, so bring your dog! Upon entering, we were greeted promptly and treated well by our server and sandwich maker, Vanessa. Vanessa was very informative and very helpful in helping us decide what we wanted & telling us about their products. We ordered two sandwiches, a smoothie, a juice and a six dollar bag of chips and our bill was $76. That's a lot of money for two sandwiches, a smoothie, 1 juice and a bag of chips. We could've gone to some fine dining restaurant for $76. The juice was exceptional, my son liked his smoothie. The sandwiches were good. They weren't amazing, but they were good. They were very overpriced! So as for atmosphere and customer service this is an exceptional place to be. I just wish the prices were lower because if they were, I'd come here every day! I will be back for juice, but I can safely say I will never be taking anyone here for lunch. Not at these prices. Oh, they also have a rewards program. For my $76 purchase I have $7.60 rewards to spend. I do like rewards.
