We have been eating at Roosters since it opened way back when, after the Sizzler closed. It has simply the best food in town, generous portions and great waitstaff. There aren't that many restaurants that make home made noodles. The chicken soup is to die for as well as the clam chowder on Fridays. In these days of fast food, its good to sit down to a homestyle meal. We have traveled the northwest and I get sick of paying insane prices like 20 dollars or more for 3 undercooked green beans a half portion of meat and a poorly prepared potato or hard rice. Our waitress was a sweetheart, however, the service was extremely slow, and the food not good. I had the fried chicken. The batter was tasteless and the skin appeared to have been boiled first. The fresh vegetables were frozen and had some seasoning that I could not identify. The gravy on the mashed potatoes was good but the potatoes were instant. The salad was an ok bagged mixed. Had to redo my review. I was out to dinner with grandfather and was not too hungry (he eats at 4:30). I ordered the chicken he had the halibut. Our potatoes were stone cold. I ate my salad ang got my chicken to go. Later on pulled out chicken leg from fridge and it was bloody. Dito for breast and thigh. Most of these stars are for the service. We were warmly greeted and shown immediately to a nice table. Our waitress came over quickly to take our drink order and gave us some time to look over the menu. The menu has quite a variety and the prices are comparable to most family restaurants. The kids menu is quite advanced with selections such as a hamburger steak, pot roast, and fettucine dinner. They have a great little play barn for the kids and butcher paper and crayons on the table for everyone to be an artist! The waitress was able to offer up suggestions and did not try to upsale at all. Our salads came out quickly and were fresh and very tasty. Our entrees were served nice and hot. I got the pot roast dinner with mashed potatoes and veggies. The mashed potatoes were good, the pot roast fork tender and enough gravy to need bread to get it all. My husband ordered the Rooster's Catch, and it was all good and a huge portion. The food was good not great, and the kid's meal was quite a small portion. The kid's meal came with a small ice cream cup that the kids get to go into the little play barn to get themselves. Like I said, the service was outstanding, the food fair. I've gone to Roosters about 50x. Love it. Food is "Diner Cuisine", but infinitely better than the chain restaurants (ie: Denny's, Shari's. Sambos, etc.). Wish we would have found Roosters years ago! The fries are hand cut, crispy and seasoned to perfection. My husband had the Reuben sandwich today, which was the best we've had in a very long time. The rye bread was grill toasted nicely. There was just enough pastrami without it being too thick to get your mouth around. With great kraut, melted cheese and Thousand Island, I was ready to take it away from him. The homemade chicken noodle soup was amazing! Thick but soft homemade noodles made this soup satisfying and filling. They put real butter out for the soft fluffy rolls, and the service is A plus. We will definitely be back. We were traveling home & stopped to eat dinner. Wanting more then fast food. We both enjoyed our meal. My husband had the roast beef hot sandwich dinner. And myself the grilled hamburger steak with mushroom onion gravy. They were both like eating at grandma,s house. We topped it off with the marrionberry cobbler topped with scoop vanilla ice cream. Horrible experience with out waitress who I didn't get the name of. First she snapped at me about my breakfast option then when I went to hand her my menue she yanked it away and spilled an entire glass of water. She just stood there for a second without apology then matched off. She later walked by and put a paper and some napkins down for ME to clean in up but still never said a word. I am disappointed by her rudeness. I am giving two stars because the food was good but it's not anything out of what would be expected. Very disappointed! read more

Stopped here on our way back home, the place was nice, clean and neat. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. We ordered the chicken strips with fries and they were alright. This place has an attitude! I ordered hash browns and a hamburger pattie. When I got my order the pattie was raw the red juice running on to my hash browns. When the server finally came back I told her I wanted a pattie that was well done and not raw! 15 minuets later I heard the server ask the cook "where is the pattie" the response was "getting well done"! When it finally came it was burnt, my dog didn't even want it! Servers were standing around talking and not taking care of the customers and they were not busy. Our waitress was the bomb. Great great to go with the great service. Had the Prime Rib Dip and it was the best I have had in a long time. The Au Jue kicked it up a knotch! We ordered fried chicken thinking what with the name of the restaurant it might be good. Well we were wrong. The breading fell off the chicken and all that was left was rubbery skin. The chicken itself was tough and rubbery also. The mashed potatoes were a blob of glue and the steamed vegetables were so over cooked they were mush. Had a difficult time ordering as the restaurant was so loud that the person Answering the phone could not hear me. Also had to ask for utensils and napkins.
