I reached out to Daniel about 6 months before we were ready to pick up a puppy and got on the waitlist for our future litter. Due to our extremely picky preferences we ended up moving to 3 other litters before finding the perfect puppy for us. Daniel was so understanding and was more than happy to let us move to the next litter to find the perfect pup for us. Daniel was super communicative with us throughout the whole process and even though I was worried I was asking too many questions he never made me feel bad at all. Daniel sent so many pictures of our future puppy once she was born and kept us in the loop about everything. Daniel's early training has paid off for us-- our puppy is super great in the crate and is doing amazing with potty training. She loves everyone she's met and is just a happy, loving addition to our family. Thank you Daniel for our girl!

I can't say enough to express how much I appreciate this breeder. My puppy is almost 6 months old now and has been the best companion, well behaved, intelligent and sweet, and so easy to love. I credit Daniel and Two Doods Doodles for their professional breeding practices and continued support I get in raising the best dog I've ever had. And I've had many wonderful dogs but this one is hands down the easiest to train. I would love to adopt a sister for her and will most definitely return to Two Doods Doodles

Parking is never an issue but there are a TON of signs stating to not leave your belongings in the car if so, you're taking a risk. I've never had an issues but I usually am just in and out (not the burger but you know) They have a good selection when it comes to pet supplies. We've been in for both our pups and our fish. They have a variety of fish in the back - (fresh and salt water) along with all the tank supplies. Take a look at their NFS tank - it's always filled with cool fish. They have an awesome selection of dog treats/food. The dog food is located in a separate section of the store - hard right when you enter & through another doorway. What keeps me coming back is the staff. On one visit, a cashier let me know a brand I'd been buying had gone downhill in quality and handed me samples of her top picks. That kind of honest, helpful advice is hard to find. The checkout area also tends to have timely impulse buys (hello, 4th of July calming chews) that actually come in handy. Great neighborhood pet shop with knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend!

Rachael and David, who I believe may be the owners, or at the very least managers (along with their staff), are always friendly, inviting and extremely knowledgeable about animals and what food, or toys may be best for your pet based on your circumstances. They are always inviting and willing to help. I have also found that the pet food products they carry are typically healthier for your pet, more so than you may find at the big chains and box stores. The quality and price points of the pet food are fair and they often times have promotions and discounts. Many of the promotions are buy 12 and get your next one free (ie; bag or case of food etc.). Also, on weekends they have vaccination clinics and sometimes adoption events. They even have a dog wash inside. Check with the store to find out when and how often the Vaccine clinics, pet adoptions and dog wash is available. This place is located in Modesto, in a shopping center that looks like an old western town (corner of Tully and Standiford). Bottom line, I am glad to have found a personable store for all my pets' needs and to be able to help support a local small business.

From start to finish, getting our little Charlie from Shellie and the Rooster Valley Golden…read moreRetriever Family was amazing. We initially found a golden retriever online from one of the services where you basically buy the dog in real time from hopefully current pictures and a couple of weeks later someone shows up at your home in a van and drops the dog off. After talking with our Vet, we decided to give up our $2000 deposit and go the more traditional route. The entire experience with Rooster Valley was exactly as our Vet suggested. We got to meet all the parents, both dogs and humans, and see where everything took place. Shellie's Family is friendly and welcoming and we got to do a meet and greet when the puppies were four weeks old. We later went back at the eight week mark, picked our little guy and left happy. Throughout the entire process, we were able to watch the puppies grow and play and thrive. Questions were answered quickly, and we felt like we were involved through the entire process. I would say commit early. We committed to the litter before our puppy was even conceived. Because of that we got the ever-coveted pick of the litter. They were all winners, but we felt like our Charlie was particularly cute from day one and had our eye on him so it would've been sad to lose him to another family. It is without hesitation that we highly recommend getting your golden retriever from Rooster Valley Golden Retrievers. Thanks Shellie, let your daughter know, "Orange" is doing great and is just as cute as ever.

He came to us at 8 weeks already so confident and socialized. We have a 4 year old lab and he was totally comfortable with her and with our kids. He is so smart and sweet and a total love. The breeders were great the whole way through - willing to talk to us on the phone with any questions and he came home with a stuffed animal dog scented like his litter and with a hearbeat you could turn on - I feel like that really helped him adjust to sleeping alone in the crate. All in all, great dog, great experience!

I undertook a significant amount of research on Golden breeders in the extended area, focusing specifically on hobby breeders that had wonderful sir and dam lines that were well documented and highly reviewed. Tammy and Dream Golden Retrievers fit the bill. From the first series of communications, Tammy was awesome. It is so clear that she loves Goldens, and she provided us with a WEALTH of information. Everything from how to prepare our home and children, to the best vet to select, to the best trainers in our area. I can't imagine doing this on our own after having Tammy's support. Was debating between a "farm" in the Sacramento region and Jam's, but saw red flags of likely a puppy mill at the other. Also, Jam took the time to talk to me because she wants to ensure that the pups are indeed going to great homes. Asked her if she had any pups available and she pointed me to the pup who is now my baby. His name is Bear (originally Wednesday), and I saw he was perfect. He is adorable and sweet and spunky. Drove down from Sacramento & got him in July 2023 and he will be 2 in February 2025. A lady stopped us on our walk the other day to say how much she was admiring him. Bear is the smallest of the bunch, but he is the head of the household. Thank you Jam!

We can't thank Jam enough for our sweet baby boy, Archie!…read more I have a soft spot for the yorkie breed. When my husband and I first met, I had a Yorkie named Maverick. We absolutely loved him and had no clue how lucky we were to have such a great pup. When he passed, we were heartbroken and after a few years adopted our pup, Isabella. She was a fearful rescue but after putting in the work, she's a great pup - though still stand off-ish and scared of people. At daycare, her reports cards always came home telling us she snuggled with her friends - two yorkies. It was then we decided that we'd eventually get her a yorkie sibling. When we finally got serious about adding a pup to our family, I started looking high and low for a reputable breeder. As someone who'd always rescued, I'd heard horror stories of bad breeders and am fairly certain that Isabella came from a backyard breeder before we adopted her. I was determined to find a breeder we could trust. We knew that with Isabella's fear issues, we couldn't have a second fearful dog that barked at everyone. Our hope was that we could find a well-socialized, happy puppy that might even rub off on Isabella. For that, we knew we needed to go with a breeder. I did extensive research on how to spot a bad breeder and felt like I knew enough to ask the right questions. Jam wasn't my first phone call. Before her, we spoke with a different breeder that came highly recommended from someone we met on vacation in wine country. After a few calls with that breeder, I saw several red flags and wouldn't move forward with her. Several more breeders later (& feeling more confident in what to look for), I found Jam's website. From my first phone call with Jam, I could tell that she LOVED dogs. She answered all my questions and then some. Importantly, she listened to what we were looking for in a pup. She asked questions about us, gave tips on how to evaluate a pup, and I never felt as though she was half-answering or dodging a question. She never pressured me to move forward. Best of all, her pups were raised in the home and even sleep in her room! When the puppies are 8 weeks old, they get introduced to the rest of the pack and socialize with her adult dogs. This was essential for us. With some conflicting obligations during the holidays, we couldn't pick him up until Dec 2 and so he stayed with Jam until he was 15 weeks old. He got an extra 3 weeks to socialize with the pack! We flew to the Bay Area to pick Archie up and from the moment we got there, we knew we had made the right choice. Archie has been such an angel! The absolute best disposition; friendly with other dogs and people. He is always so happy and boy is he SMART! He learned his name in one day - seriously - one! He's nearly all potty trained and he happily goes into his crate at night right next to his sister. He loves to explore and when things seem a tad too quiet, we find him sitting at the front window looking out into the front yard and sniffing. He loves chewing on his toys and rolling around in the grass in the backyard. And oh is he a daddy's boy - when he hears the car turning the corner, he starts jumping up and running towards the door. Although, he loves Isabella the most. From the moment he gets out of his crate in the morning and then all day long, he follows her, antagonizing her to play, snuggling up for naps, and watching out the window together. Archie was exactly what we - and Isabella - needed. A happy, sweet, BRAVE, inquisitive, funny, well-adjusted, healthy pup that completes our little family. I could go on and on about him and his cute personality. Thank you, Jam! It's been almost 5 months with him, and he is more than we hoped for. We absolutely love our sweet Archie!
