I chose this orthodontist based on a recommendation and the very high rating on Google. The staff at the clinic are friendly and the office environment is pleasant. However, during my treatment I realized that most of the orthodontic work was done by assistants rather than the doctor himself. The doctor would give instructions, but in my experience it didn't always seem like the results were closely checked. My teeth were initially brought forward to open my bite. However, at one point they were pulled too far to the left by mistake, and then the team tried to move them back to the right. During those adjustments the wire was over-tightened, and the teeth on the right side ended up tilting inward. At one point, when I raised concerns, the doctor looked at my original photos and asked if the issue had been there before I started treatment. That moment made me question the progress we had made. Eventually the doctor suggested removing my braces and said we had achieved the treatment goals. However, by that time I had already noticed an asymmetry in my bite that had developed during treatment. Even with that concern, I was told the treatment was finished. Because I still had doubts about my bite, I went to another orthodontist for a second opinion. After my consultation, that orthodontist called my treating doctor. I don't know what they discussed, but afterward I was told that the clinic would not be taking me as a patient. I'm not a confrontational person. I simply came in hoping to get a healthy, beautiful smile like the one that was promised by the doctor's reputation Visually my teeth may look straight, and I have been wearing my retainers consistently as instructed. But the inward tilt of my upper teeth is now affecting the angle of my lower teeth, pushing them inward and exposing the necks of the lower teeth. I also continue to deal with headaches and neck pain. Now, about a year after my braces were removed, it's clear that I will likely need to see another specialist and possibly go through orthodontic treatment again to correct my bite. If I had known this would be the result, I would never have agreed to this treatment. read more

Dr. Roos is good. I'm happy with my results mostly. One minor complaint. The hygenist who shaved off my glue bracket for Invisalign lost focus or her hand slipped and she shaved a little bit off my perfectly rectangular front tooth. This is a review of Invisiline with Roos, with more than a year with invisiline trays, and my front teeth are not aligned, how can I not be frustrated? I believe it is the result of using the same process for everyone . Not looking at the details . No attention to detail in the sea of teeth ? I am also to blame as not raising the issue beforehand, however I cannot recommend this process. Probably it would have been better to use the old fashion way : braces , on that I believe Dr. Roos is great. My dentist referred me to Dr. Roos' office, but I ultimately asked my dentist for a different recommendation. My initial orthodontic evaluation and the follow-ups I had with the treatment coordinator were enough to convince me that I needed to look elsewhere. My evaluation was a tough pill to swallow. Of course, there's no easy way to tell a 30-something woman she has an impacted canine and will need to be in traditional braces for a long time (with a gap in her smile while she waits for the impacted canine to surface). That's my DNA's fault. But as I was trying to process the bad news, the sales pitch only got more and more aggressive. Yes, I should absolutely get braces--and fast! No, a dental implant would never be the answer. This would be cheaper in the end! This would be better! Honestly, I wanted to go home and have a little cry over the whole situation. After getting home (and crying a little), I went online and discovered there were types of brackets and wires that would be better aesthetically. I began to feel more hopeful; I began to feel that I could deal with braces after all. I e-mailed the office right away to ask whether the wires I wanted were available at Dr. Roos's office. After six weeks of mostly silence and a few dodgy responses, I finally got my answer: No, the wires were a no-go. Fair enough, but I wish the office had just told me right away so that I could resume my search for an orthodontist. I have since found another ortho who has the brackets and wires that a 30-something woman would rather wear. The sales pitch was, to my tremendous relief, much gentler. read more

I have been bringing my children to Dr Roos for several years now, and we have always received first class service. He treats my children with special care, respect and dignity the entire way through the process. He knows how to identify with their anxiety if they are nervous or unsure about something, he has a calm about him that is soothing to a child. We are just finishing with our second teenager, and about to start the process with our third child. His entire staff is like a big family, and they always treat us with respect and as though we are part of their family. Never have we experienced anything negative by anyone. Coming from a healthcare critic (me) that has 20 years experience researching quality of care issues in our society, you are not going to find a Orthodontist with more experience or knowledge in the field. A friendly reception hides a production line - over worked, off hand and less than impressive. If my daughters recent experiences are anything to go by... Stay away. We have had nothing but little niggles while the braces were on, but the final straw came when they came off and then - against our wishes he drilled into her teeth to fit a retainer and did such a bad job of patching and adding the bands we had to see our regular dentist to stop the pain. So far they have not responded to my wife's attempts to contact them, though our regular dentist is also planning to contact them for an explanation. If you care about the experience your kids get during this significantly costly process I would strongly recommend you stay clear. If they respond in a constructive I will revisit this review, but there is no excuse for this behavior. read more

I got my orthodontia done at Roos Orthodontics from Feb 2009 to Dec 2010. I must say I had a good experience except for one concerning kink. To start off, most orthodontic offices offer first consultation for free. I took advantage of this and consulted 4 different places before Dr. Roos' office won my contract :)! Here's why: - This was the only office that took an X-ray of my jaws during the consultation to explain me, in details, what my treatment plan was going to look like. - While some offices mentioned "jaw surgery" and what not, Dr. Roos' approach was the least invasive. - He further advised me not to get Invisalign even though he'd have earned about $1500 extra from that - did a good job instilling my confidence in him as an ethical practitioner. - Even with non-invisalign, his office turned out to be the most suitable for me both financially and length of treatment wise. - Dr. Roos often makes it to the Top Orthodontists of the Year on the Eastside. That was a good to know too. So my treatment progressed in due course of life itself. I often had questions for his staff - Suzy, Patty, Vicki, et al, and Dr. Roos himself. Always got pretty much everything answered. The scheduling coordinator, Dani, was extremely easy to work with and did a great job resolving conflicts. I also loved the "goodie bags" I got after each follow-up. Not to mention the b'day gift! At the end of my treatment, I *wanted* to get my braces out just a couple of days before my upcoming international travel and needed my retainers at the 11th hour. Thanks to Sandy, it all worked out! One KINK that did concern me though was that I somehow felt Dr. Roos was not as careful enough while working on the patients as he should have been. On a couple of occasions, he hurt my lower or upper lips with his instruments and/or caused me pain in the teeth. Agreed, I have a low pain threshold, but it's the same for him and his staff. He did apologize though. Either way, I was expecting more mindfulness from an orthodontist of his stature. All in all, I am quite happy with how my teeth look right now. We see Roos for my daughter's braces. The office is clean and efficient, with everything kept on track. We're there every 6 weeks and I don't think we've ever had to wait for an appointment. I appreciate how they try to make it friendly for kids, with drawings for prizes, and over the summer, a big map for everyone to post a pin to show where the went on vacation. My daughter hasn't had any problems with the braces and everything has been explained very clearly along the way, so we always know what to expect. The staff are always pleasant. read more

I saw Dr. Roos and his team (I had braces) from Sept 2009 to July 2011. I only had to visit once every 2 months for tightening and I was always greeted with a smile from the front desk staff. My treatment manager was Michelle (she left because she moved across the state) and she was fabulous! She was so nice and caring and I always looked forward to seeing her for my appointments. Dr. Roos was very nice as well and felt like he always knew what was going on with my treatment even though he had a lot of other patients. I love Dr. Roos and the staff in the back. Everyone is so friendly! The only thing that makes me give 3 stars is the reaction if you are late. Most medical offices will give you a 5 to possible 10 minute grace period. Unfortunately that is not the case here. Here you are already late if you show up at the time of the appointment. Fantastic service was what I received at Roos Orthodontics. As an adult, the thought of getting braces was daunting, but they treated me so kindly and supported me through the entire process. Every person on the staff is competent and able to focus on the patient's needs. Dr Roos is thorough and very systematic in his approach. I am most impressed with the way he has orchestrated a fine tuned organization. His attention to detail is reflected in every aspect. My braces are now off and I am so happy with the results. Dr. Roos office was extremely thorough in setting up the treatment plan. I especially liked that we took our son there a year ago and he advised us that he did not need treament at that time. It was nice to see that he didn't just take our money. Wendi is awesome is her explanation of how the treament plan will progress. She shows great interaction video's that are great visuals for the kids to see. It shows them what their appliances will look like and how their teeth are going to move. My son loves the fact that they have monthly drawing for really cool raffle items, if he wears his tee-shirt, or recieves a good check-up from his dentist. I have had an enjoyable interaction with all the staff at Roos Orthrodontics. Dr. Roos was very matter of fact with what we needed and didnt need in our treatment plan.
