I ordered the massive masala onion dosa for the first time ever and the dips it comes with were amazing, it was extremely filling and had plenty of leftovers for the next day!! My friend got chicken tikka masala with rice and the garlic naan made fresh. Per the newspaper on the wall, this establishment has been around and has heart and soul! The food is made with love, attention and detail and to order . The ambiance is simple and open space. My guy loves spice so he gets the medium and it is enough for him to still enjoy his meal. The garlic naan is a must, the perfect addition for dipping into that sauce!! 10/10! We were in town for work, one of our members was from Belgium. We chose this place due to gluten free being marked clearly of the menu (for me). We went on a Thursday evening, it was not busy what so ever. I ordered one of the chicken appetizers and cucumber salad as my meal, my coworker ordered the butter chicken and the other ordered the cheese in sauce and they split the bread. They both enjoyed their meal, the butter chicken order ordered his spicy and he said it was just right for him. Mine was naturally spicy, it didn't really kick in until I finished my dish and then I felt the heat, it was not uncomfortable. Served with tamarind sauce) along with the veg pakora (fried fritters drilled with mixed vegetables, flavored with spices. Served with a coconut dipping sauce). Both were extremely flavorful! For our entrée, we ordered Chana Masala (a chickpea dish cooked with tomatoes, ginger, garlic, & a blend of spices). We asked for it spicy & the waitress asked if we were sure. Since we both love spicy food, we said we were sure. But they definitely weren't lying about the spice level! So scrumptious but made one of us sweat lol We also ordered a side of garlic naan & avocado parota (100% whole wheat bread filled with fresh avocado & spices). Been here a few times. It's hit or miss, most consistently miss. Last time I went and got the same thing and it was good. Today it was almost inedible. It was matar paneer. It was curdled and slightly sour. Bread wasn't the normal garlic naan and my mom got chicken tikka masala and the chicken was very thin cut and very dark- questionable even for dark meat chicken. Most of the time that dish is made with white meat. Meat was very poor quality and we asked and were told it was chicken, I'm still skeptical. I am hoping my mom doesn't get sick. The chai was however delicious. Staff is not friendly and barely checks on the table. We were the only people in there. They have no half portions or children's. There's a better place near Killeen and several in Austin that are worth the drive. This one is convenient, but I think they have no quality control due to the fact there's no competition in the area and most people likely don't know better if this has been their only Indian food experience of how things should taste. I am married to an Indian and very familiar with the Americanized and authentic cuisine, so even for Americanized Indian food, this isn't good. read more

Wow. I was with my family tonight visiting from out of town. My sister-in-law recommended this place and I'm so glad we did this instead of anything else. Food was outstandingly flavorful. Service was incredibly personable and nice. Our table started with samosas, pardon if that's not spelled right. They were crunchy and fresh. I got the chicken 65 appetizer as an entree. I asked for spicy level heat and it was extremely well balanced between a nice kick and flavor. I got the lemon rice as a side, and it was crunchy and delicious. It's the star of the show, in my book. The flavors are rich and complex, a blend of spices and herbs that'll leave you wanting more. The chicken itself is tender and juicy, perfectly cooked. It's the kind of dish you'll be dreaming about long after you've left the restaurant. As for the rest of the menu, everything I've tried has been prepared excellent, not a fan on the fish pakora. The naan is pillowy soft, the curries are flavorful, and the chutneys are on point. The Indian Lemonade and the tea are wonderful. The staff are attentive. Honestly, the only downside is the location. Roopa's could definitely benefit from a more prominent spot to match its high-quality offerings. But in a way, that almost adds to its charm. Little Indian restaurant situated on canyon creek drive in temple. My husband and I have always ordered take out from this restaurant for the year and change we've been here and I asked him if he wanted to eat inside for a change. After work we went and it was a relatively good time, not too busy and the wait staff was attentive. I tried out a vegan dish and it did not disappoint. We usually get samosas, but I ate a bunch that I'd bought from Costco earlier that week and my husband wanted to try something new. We ended up trying Masada vads and veggie pakora. Both were delightful and flavorful. I will say it was a bit more spicy than what I am used to so be prepared for that runny nose if spicy isn't your Forte. The coconut chutney helps with the spice a bit. My husband had had in the past: butter chicken (spicy), chicken vindaloo(spicy), chicken Tika masal, and now he just tried chicken kurma. For him he loves spicy, but when we compared take out to sitting in the restaurant we felt the spice level went up! He didn't mind it at all and stated the flavor of the chicken kurma he tried was absolutely amazing! I've tried pretty much the same dishes as him but this time around I tried the Chana masala. All of the delightful flavors minus the meat and substitute that with chickpeas! I will say I ordered mines medium and It was a kick in the taste buds! I wouldn't have it any other way it was so delicious! If you ever come here definitely try this dish with the veggie biryani! You will not be disappointed! My mother and I order takeout here. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and she ordered the ginger chicken. We also ordered naan which was quite good. Both dishes were tasty and savory, and just the right level of spicy, but overall I felt that there was something left to be desired in terms of flavor. I expect chicken tikka masala to be a little bit more creamy and less broth-y. I'm no expert in Indian cuisine, but based off meals I've had in the past, I felt the dish likely could've benefited from additional coconut milk, spices, and maybe a garnish of cilantro and lime. I may come back just to see if it was a one off day, but it wasn't exactly what I was craving- even though it was decent. The restaurant appeared to be very nice and clean. The staff was professional and friendly. The prices were very affordable - and they have a rewards program. On the phone ordering and pick up for easy and quick. Of note: my mother said her ginger chicken was absolutely delicious and she had no complaints.
