Once she opens the door you take a tight staircase down to the parlor room 56. Very intimate and holds true to a speakeasy feel. We were given complimentary champagne upon seating and a deck of cards that had questions on them. It really made great conversation while enjoying your drinks! The drinks were a hit or miss for myself. I think because the bartenders base the menu on their take of drinks aka also opposite of what the standard might be for that cocktail. I love a good speakeasy and the feeling of being transported somewhere else but this one felt more like a very small high end hotel lounge than a true speakeasy. It's stylish but it never really gave that "wow" or immersive speakeasy moment. On the positive side the cocktails were good they clearly have the mixology part down and the drinks were well balanced and thoughtfully made. The downside was the service which was surprisingly subpar for such a small space. Every time we ordered a round, it took about 25-30 minutes to get our drinks which really drags out the experience in not a great way. Also worth noting prices here are on the high end so be prepared to spend if you come through. We got lucky enough on a Friday night to get a table here without a reservation. But I would definitely recommend you make one! Once you get called in, you go through a secret door and once inside, you walk down a set of spiral stairs where you'll then find the hidden speakeasy bar. It's dim, cozy, and intimate. My friend made reservations online for Room 56 on a Friday night just around 7pm. Just a note, eat before or after this experience, as there are no food options! Old pictures and reviews show that they used to, but they are serving only drinks here for now. Each person must order $40 minimum of drinks and there is also gratuity included. Once you enter the Moxy lobby and check in near the bookshelf door, the hostess will walk you down a flight of narrow stairs to get to the speakeasy. The atmosphere was not too dark, cozy, and subtle. There were fun cards with questions on the tables, perfect for a date night or just getting to know someone! Almost every drink was crafted aesthetically, and service was great all around. Do take some time to find the area as they are strict on reservation times. We didn't have reservations, but put our name on the waitlist and got a text 3 hours later so we came back to try it. To start they bring over a glass of champagne.
