The staff's attitude immediately gave me the impression that customer service was not a priority. When I politely asked for some hair product and to wash my hands, I was met with an attitude that made me feel like I was inconveniencing them. The haircut itself was even more disappointing. The barber seemed determined to rush through the appointment, attempting to finish my haircut in about 10 minutes. I had to stop him because I wasn't happy with the result and asked him to fix it. Throughout the entire appointment, he made no effort to engage in even basic conversation. I tried several times to be friendly, ask questions, and make the experience enjoyable, but received almost nothing in return. I paid $70 for a haircut and beard service, and I genuinely feel like I wasted my money. The beard trim, which cost $30, lasted no more than two minutes and looked like almost no work had been done. The entire appointment felt rushed, careless, and completely lacking in attention to detail. I don't mind paying premium prices when the quality, professionalism, and customer experience justify it. Unfortunately, none of those were present here. Instead, I left feeling disappointed, frustrated, and regretting my decision to give this place a chance. With how difficult the economy is today, customers deserve businesses that appreciate their support and take pride in their work. Based on my experience, this barbershop fell far short of that standard. I cannot recommend this shop to anyone, and I will not be returning. It was BAD. That left me scrambling to find somewhere to fix it. I decided it would probably be best to take him to an actual barber who specializes in his type of hair cut. That's where The Dapper Devil and James comes in. I made an appointment for 5pm (now the day before picture day). Well... when we got there, my son was tired and generally overwhelmed by walking into a new place that looked different from the type of places he's used to going. He just melted down. I tried everything to talk him down and get him to come around to the idea. James was amazing, trying to get him excited but it just wasn't in the cards for us last night. James asked when I drop him off at school and offered to come in at 7am, THREE HOURS before they open to get my sons hair fixed up. We didn't need to be there till a bit later so 8am was totally doable for us and he insisted we come at 8am. Fast forward to the next morning (today). We got there at 8am and James was ready for us. My son was in a much better place and was happy to be there, but still a bit nervous. James was SO patient, kind, and even a little silly to get my son comfortable. He showed my son everything he was going to do, let him pick the comb color, the water bottle, etc to allow my son to feel like he was a part of the experience. James gave me some pomade and explained to me how to use it best to get my sons double cowlicks to sit down properly. And then.... He REFUSED to let me pay him for the hair cut OR the pomade. I practically begged to let me pay and he refused. He said he was happy to get my sons hair fixed up and give him a positive experience so he's excited to come back. Hair cuts have always been a touchy thing for my son, so thank you so much James and ALL the barbers there on Thursday evening who tried to help my son through the nerves. We will ABSOLUTELY be back for every haircut!
