Awesome barbershop! The best in the area, hands down! Lead barber and owner Alma is a great barber for all ages and she leads a great staff of barbers that are very customer oriented and skillful. The climate is always cool, comfortable, bright and the service is fluent without issues. ALL barbers there can be trusted with any hair texture and style! V/r, Flagg read more

Brought my teenage son here, showed a picture of what he wanted and the stylist delivered! Great service and very friendly atmosphere. My son particularly liked the massage at the end. read more

I needed an emergency cut for a wedding since my wife was staring at a botched hack job of a haircut at a posh new men's barber shop in Las Vegas. Five and a half hours of her complaining folks. So as we rolled into Avondale to gas up, my wife found a place down the street. This is where my $20 tip from the other place should have gone. Rafael was my barber and he cut me up old school style. We call it bald fade in Chicago - locally it's called a skin fade. This, a hot towel treatment along with lively conversation made it a great place. Better yet, my wife was now super happy with the cut. I highly recommend this place if you live in the area! read more

If you want a Super Cuts haircut And pay 34.50 plus tip then go here. It's called Gents Barbershop but I was the only gentleman in the place as it's just Hispanic females cutting hair at a barbershop? If that is your vibe then this your place. They also charge you to you use your card so that's another 1.50 charge that most businesses don't pass that charge to customers but I am glad I tried it once but will never go back and will tell anyone to steer clear as there is a lot of better barbershops in the area and are cheaper. read more

My mom spoke to a Hispanic lady around 9am yesterday to set up an appointment for my husband at 4pm, she confirmed the appointment. My husband gets there at 3:40, no one acknowledged him, he's black. Another man walks in and asks how long the wait is, they say 40 minutes, as soon as someone finishes a haircut they take that man and continue to IGNORE my husband. He waited until 4:05 no one acknowledged him so he left. I called them around 5pm & spoke to the lady, she told me "we don't really do appointments to avoid issues like this" & that she "doesn't remember my husband walking in that's probably because everyone was too busy ignoring him. How are you gonna confirm an appointment with someone, ignore them then lie & say you don't take appointments or remember seeing the person walk in. I don't appreciate being lied to & my time or my husband's time being wasted. I saw a couple reviews talking about how people were being ignored, they were the only white person there & weren't acknowledged or they were made to feel uncomfortable which makes me believe my husband was ignored because he's black. I never write reviews like this but the lady offered no solutions and flat out lied to me & wasted our time. If you have an appointment you really don't & they'll take someone else before you. Dont recommended 0/10 Very disappointed read more

I've been coming to this barbershop for the past five years and I will continue to return as long as they're open for business. Alma and Jonathon are my go to barbers and have even cut my twin boys' hair. I definitely recommend this shop to anyone who is looking for a classic gentlemen's haircut! read more

Came here on a Sunday at 10:45 AM, because their posted hours said they were open from 10-3, and that walk-ins are welcome. The door was locked, and there was another potential customer waiting out front, who told me he had been waiting since 10:00. I called their business number; no answer, and an answering machine did not pick up. I waited 20 minutes more, and then chose to leave. The other customer was waiting there when I left. If you're not going to be open on Sundays, don't advertise that you are. read more

My son has started going there no issues as of yet although but today 2/24/23 was charged $30 just to fade his hair. He has no beard nor requested a shave as it is not needed, this must have been an error on the female barber part as he had never had her previously. But currently very disappointed read more

The prices for the hair cuts are a little bit pricey .I payed 40 dollars just for a medium skin fade and a littlw trim, and they always mess up my bangs i ask for them to be even, but somehow they always end up lopsided. read more

No one is ever working here. It seems Alma is the only person that shows up to work and every time I go into this shop she is the only person working and a list of customers waiting. Service: Haircut read more

I have been going to Gent's Barber Shop for several months now and normally have experienced positive customer service. In my last 2 visits I have noticed a decline in customer service and today completely put me off from ever returning. I arrived and signed in like normal and noted that there were only 2 other gentleman on the list ahead of me. After 10 minutes passed by another gentleman came in and sat down ( didn't sign in), it was obvious that he was friends with the owner as she told him that they had a lot of catching up to do. When it came time for me to sit in the chair and get my hair cut the owner told me that her friend was next, I pointed out to her that I was next and had been patiently waiting. When I stated that I came in before her friend she said that he was in earlier and decided to leave and come back. I again pointed out that he had both arrived after me and he did not sign in. We reached an impasse and I decided to leave and take my business elsewhere. If your looking for customer service this is not the business to give your hard earned money to. read more

Rude and rough on my sons haircut he had scratches from the clippers and one side of his fade was a full inch and a half off of even. Save your time and money. Go see James at nipper clippers Hester best I've seen read more

The service was great. The lady that cut my 4year old son's hair did amazing. She was quick, and really good to my son. He was very comfortable getting his hair cut by her. This was our first time here and I will be returning. read more

Just left!! What a great initial haircut! Clean shop. I usually don't get a great initial cut at a new shop, but this surpassed everything. Plus the female barber was beautiful and smelled good. Always a plus!! I will be back!! Thank you... read more

I have had haircuts at Gent's several times over the past 6 months; each time with a different staff member. Every cut was done very well. Everyone that has cut my hair was friendly and made sure that they knew how I wanted the cut done before starting. Each time I have had a haircut, there are several staff working and the wait time is brief. Facility I clean, pleasant, and comfortable. I highly recommend! read more

Take my boys here every two weeks. Myself and brother go religiously. All the barbers are amazing our Barber is Alma. Simply the best.

I went today, and Jonathan was my Barber. He trimmed my beard as well, did a great job!

Great barber shop and opens early.which is great since I work nights.havent had a bad experience yet.

Just in town visiting and I dropped in for a quick hair cut. I was served immediately and received an excellent and thorough barber shop haircut! Wish I could find guys like this at home! read more

This star is because how rude they are. I walked in and signed my grandson in, NO ONE greeted me. They basically ignored me. Then we requested a certain person and as they all checked people out, again, no one acknowledged I was next, to tell me it will be a few minutes because you requested a certain person. Which would be understanding. The person I think we requested was the rudest. I will leave out other details but we did leave. We went to a place when we walked in 2-3 people greeted us and made us feel very welcome. Too much competition to be deliberately rude and go to a place that doesn't care that you are there. read more

My son loves getting his hair cut here. Friendly, quick and always a treat for the kids. They do a great job! Clean cuts.

My husband and son have been coming to this barber shop since they've opened, we keep coming back for Alma! She usually has a person or two waiting once we get here, but she's worth the wait. So professional, talks to you, not over you. She also cut my daughters "First Hair Cut" in which I was SUPER picky, and got exactly what I asked for! read more

So tonight was my husband's third visit to this barber. This time it was dirty and the employees talked over and around customers. Also, my husband's haircut took a fraction of the time it did on the other visits. And his beard trim was lazy - there are many stray, long hairs. Lastly, this was the first time my husband was offered a frequent customer card. He mentioned that this was his third visit and the gentleman helping him ignored this completely. Doesn't seem like the best way to earn repeat customers. Disappointing, overall. We probably won't return. read more

Great customer service! Alma has amazing talent and knows how to move her scissors when it comes to kids. She's a perfectionist! I see other barber's there do an amazing job as well. Im just speaking highly of Alma because she has been the first barber to cut my boys hair and been seeing her ever since. read more

I have been coming here for over 3 years and absolutely love this place. All of the barbers are great and have treated me well. I have been to other barbershops in the area and will drive out of my way to get here. They are friendly, engaging and have a laid back atmosphere. Alma and Rosa are great and I highly recommend them to anyone I search of a new barbershop. They serve all types of clients and I appreciate that. read more

I arrived at Gents barbershop shortly after 8am on 8/22/2018. Only one barber working, last chair on the left. I wrote my name in the book. I waited to finish his customer . He rang this customer up, customer left, he started playing with the register tape, like I was not even there. He never greeted me, I asked him if Alma was working. he replied no, and walked off. He did not offer to cut my hair, did not bother to tell me when Alma was working. WTF?????? read more

I bounced around several barber shops over the last few months trying to find a new place to call home. I got tired of waiting over 2 hours to get a cut at my previous barber so I started looking. This is my third visit and although I've had a different barber each visit, I've gotten a great cut every time. Alma (owner) and her team are very welcoming and keep a clean shop and inviting atmosphere. I think I finally found my new Barbershop! read more

My son and went to get haircuts and they completely ruined my beard&mustache and my sons hair. the barber didn't seem like he new what he was doing. He botched my mustache that I wanted to grow out, he randomly took clippers and buzzed at it with no technique. He didn't bother shaping it or trim it with precision. My sons hair looked fine at first only to find out that the barber did some weird comb over that left one side uneven. There's no personal touch here and they just wanna get you in and out. I went to another barber that day and they salvaged my beard and fixed my sons hair. They were shocked at how bad our haircuts and beard were done. These haircuts, if you can call them that were done by two different barbers, so I'd be cautious. read more
