Been coming here for 6 years. Used to love it, but the quality of the cuts and the customer service has plummeted while the prices have skyrocketed. First, it was them not honoring the prices on their board. Then it was charging $5 extra to make an appointment. All while there are only certain barbers who will do anything but a basic trim. They no longer do the hot towel on the face either. Today was kind of the final straw: they all of a sudden said they don't honor military discounts on appointments, only on walk-ins. Being in the military, i get my haircut pretty often and after giving the Gentlemen Chambers a try- i am disappointed. It is really unfortunate to receive a mediocre haircut and not walking out feeling like a rockstar. I did a walk in during the weekday and i was seen pretty quick. I let them know i was looking for a high fade, skin tight, hard skinny part with a line up. After being handed the mirror, my line up was a trapezoid and my hard part was thick. I let the barber know what i wanted changed and adjusted but after receiving the mirror again I saw that my hairline was pushed back and just called it a day because i did not want it to get any worse. Although the environment and atmosphere seems appealing, craftsmanship and precision is not at this barbershop. I walked out and even say lumps of hair gel still in my hair. I have never had such a bad hair cut in my life (and I'm 75). I made an appointment for 9:00 am on 4/26/2024 and received an e-mail saying that I would be seeing Oscar Espinosa for my appointment. When I got there I was told Oscar Espinosa was not there and they did not know when he would be in so, they said I could wait or have another barber cut my hair. I opted to use another barber but did not get his name. When I sat down I noticed the foot plate on the chair was missing and found that odd. The barber proceeded to cut my hair and when he finished he turned me around to look at his job. It looked a little uneven on the sides and I pushed the sides around with my hand. He used his scissors to take a few more snips and then was done, I paid and left. When I got home I took a good look and was really ticked off that he had done such a lousy job. It almost looked like he put a bowl on my head and shaved around it. I was hoping to find a place I could rely on for a quality haircut but I wish I had tried somewhere else. I came to this barber shop after calling and being told that they would be able to give me an undercut. I asked the barber to give me a triangle shaped cut that went to the top of my ears in height and taper it out at the ends. He did not do any of that as you can tell from these pictures. The cut was about an inch too high, there were crooked lines everywhere, no triangle shape at all. I will say Jose did an excellent job, after telling him what I wanted he executed flawlessly! I might say he even did a better job then my old Barber!! The shop was clean and welcoming! I am so glad this barber shop opened up. When I need a haircut I look for an actual barber shop and that's what these guys are. They're true barbers who know and hone their craft. They take their time to make sure what you want is achieved but they even go beyond that. Doesn't matter which barber I get, they're perfect. I'm in the military so obviously that's the haircut I need. It had been a while since I found a barber who could do it right every time. What I love the most is the straight razor. This seems to be a dying thing within this business just because people don't want to get certified on using one. Realistically you get a perfect fade with one. We have tried several different barbers since moving here two years ago. Gentleman's Chambers has been by far the best. Oscar is courteous and professional. The barbers are respectful and their attention to detail is spot on. I most appreciated the atmosphere - it was not overly loud or boisterous; there was no loud music blaring, and the programs on the TVs were appropriate for everyone in the room. okay so this place cuts amazing i will say...the reason for the 4 star is because i came in one time and i got cut (can't remember who cut my hair) regardless, i asked how much the haircut would be (my 2nd time i forgot the rate and there wasn't a sign yet) and he told me $35 i told him i didn't have $35 cash so i'd pay card he rang me up and it was $25 (i gave the barber a $10 tip because he obviously needed the money and i wasn't going to be rude about it) but that shows me dishonest business. everyone else that's cut my hair i treated them well and tipped more than that and they've been a pleasure. good spot, do better though on some of your employees gentlemen's chamber, no one likes a snake that wants extra money. read more
