Very few times I get this kind of service. Like always it's all subjective to the barber and the attention they give. However they listened to what I wanted, suggested some better fit and cut than what I was used to, and they weren't scared of suggesting. My normal spot became very impersonal, and I was looking for a new spot. The vibe inside is pretty standard, it's very cool and laidback. Definitely will keep going here, until something changes, I highly recommend it. read more

I had to console my son after taking him to Josh Sosa to get his first haircut at a "real" barber shop. This man was very unprofessional and disrespectful to women. He crossed so many personal boundaries of mine. Not to mention he fucked up my son's hair. Find another barber.... ANY other barber/shop. read more

WOMEN BEWARE OF BARBER JOSH SOSA! My experience at this shop was awful, traumatizing. Josh Sosa made me feel extremely uncomfortable by making vulgar, inappropriate remarks on my body, along with being incessantly aggressive after I told him I was married & not interested. This was ALL IN FRONT OF MY 13 YR OLD SON! I rarely leave reviews, I felt compelled to warn/urge other women to be very hesitant when going to this shop read more

I would give no stars if I could! First of all this was the last place I wanted to even try by just how horrible the reviews are on Yelp and on Google. But I was in the area and needed a hair cut. You think they would want to be available and WANTING TO WORK (after no work during COVID restrictions). But NO, they are LAZY and have HORRIBLE customer service. The people cutting hair were not even cutting anyones hair (empty), showed up 30 min before closing, and was told they are "CLOSED." But the sign said otherwise (closed at 7 not at 6:30) and was then flipped off immediately for pointy that out. I would try Kimmies Barbershop down the st next to the tattoo & mariscos spot on the corner. They took me right away and also 2 other guys after me and they had the same closing times as these Trash barbers. read more

The bad reviews of this place speak for themselves. Funny the business owner wants to try and act like I didn't come here?! I haven't taken my business here since and I'm glad I never gave these guys another shot at taking my money for less than quality service. read more

the haircut came out good but during the haircut the guy kept being rough with the clippers. He sorta kept rushing cutting my hair a couple times. Some point during the haircut he tapped the back of my head with the back of the clippers. I just wansn't satisfied with the process of the haircut. read more

Got hair cut on this past Thursday by one of the Iranian brothers with the first chair on the right side when you enter. I noticed after leaving that he literally pushed my hairline about a half inch above my ears. The soonest I could return to the barber shop was Sunday, today due to work. I had taken pictures and asked the barber to just blend the hairline as a low fade to fix his mistakes. He told me I would have to come back in one hour. I returned and he made me wait 2 hours, and then another barber was asked to correct his problem. Then the other Iranian brother asked me to pay another $25. Both brothers were very rude considering that I have been coming there every week. I have even recommended several friends but I will now advise them to use another barber shop. I will never return to this barber shop because I feel that they discriminated against me. They clearly screwed up but tried to take it out on me. They have no class - beware. read more

I've heard good things about the place so I figured why not, definitely not disappointed. The two gentlemen in there were extremely good barber's and kept a conversation the whole time i was getting my cut (shadow fade with a box line up in the back and something spicy in the front) I came in here with about a month and a half of growth and the barber navigated like a champ, I never felt the heat of the clippers and never once did i feel any hesitation. Line up was crisp and had me looking like a zillion dollars on a non pay day weekend. The atmosphere was nice, the inside was air conditioned and there was a fan on recirculating the cool air. They were playing Van Helsing via DVD. They have a soda machine that sells: coke, Dr pepper, brisk iced tea, mountain dew, Pepsi, grape, and Hawaiian punch. They've got a restroom for paying customers, and a good vibe throughout. I can most definitely see this slowly becoming my regular spot as they do a good job, they offer a military, LEO, and senior discount and it's not too far from my place. read more

2nd day in a row that they refused to take me in for a cut. Yesterday I was there 20 mins before close, today 40 mins. If you close at 6:00pm instead of 7:00pm, or if you won't take a customer in after a certain time, then post it somewhere or update your hours. It would save someone the hassle of driving down there only to be turned away. Or better yet, if your employees are lazy, then get rid of them. My son & I have been going to this place for a few years now. We won't be coming back. Advice for everyone else: Do yourself a favor & look for another barber that has it's customers as it's main concern. read more

This place is usually packed early in the morning (right when they wake up)and right after school lets out. I have been coming here for about two years. I would recommend coming mid day or after 6pm Monday-Saturday. Everyone is great and have a good work ethic. A general haircut usually takes an hour and a half easy. read more

Buzzed my head about 3-4 months ago with a 1-inch buzzer, so it was getting pretty grown out. Asked the barber for a light trim and to shape up the edges. The barber shaved down a small section and asked if I agreed with the length, which I did. He then proceeded to cut my hair shorter than the agreed length, and finished it off with massive amounts of goo and spray, which left me with a suuuper unflattering style. I am not very picky at all about my hair so for me to complain about it, it had to be pretty bad. I am a girl so maybe they just aren't experienced with women's styles, which I get, but my hair was buzzed originally so it's not like it was different from a boy. Aside from that, the workers were pretty nice and the ambiance was chill. My boyfriend likes this shop, but I won't be returning. read more

Has a barber this is a great barbershop to get a haircut, because we're always giving the best in service. Hate the waiting line? we have our shop number so you can call and ask, if we are busy or not. Please be considerate, weekend gets busy. Weekdays exist. If you like to get a haircut by a specific barber, please ask personally his phone number. I don't expect to be "like" by everyone, even Jesus got haters. No matter what, I'll always be a barber, and my passion is to give the best haircut. If you haven't got a haircut in A-Town Barber Shop, then you don't know Arizona. Thanks to God and all of you for your support. I'll take responsibility of my words, any questions? DM at my insta @danny_el_barbero To the haters, I'll recommend you to start praying to God, so your heart can start healing. Love and Peace my peeps. read more

Took my son for a haircut and even though my son wasn't letting himself josh still did an amazing job totally recommend josh !

Honestly, all I can say is that the barber did me dirty on my haircut. The place was nice though which is why it's getting a 2 star.

Cool environment. Chill. Had to wait a while. They were busy but the guys working were paying attention to detail. My impression of this place is that they strive for quality of their work versus rushing the job. I would recommend this place and will come back myself. Great job on my sons and husbands hair. Thank you!! read more

A-Town Barber Shop - Great attention to detail on the hair cut. - Barbers Near Me - Avondale, Arizona

The worst service. I walked in with my son to get him a haircut and no one acknowledged me which at first was fine, what ever. But after that they took a kid who had just walked in clearly not having an appointment before not acknowledging me again. So I continued to wait. Then I saw a guy finish up a child's haircut so I assumed I was next but no as soon as he was done he sat down in his barber chair just using his phone, clearly disregarding mr and the fact that I've been waiting for at least 30minutes! WORSR CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! read more

Ok ... here we go .. I took a hiatus from Yelp for a while because I didn't really feel like I was the right person to give reviews . This last visit made me re-think ALL OF THAT ! I cannot believe the incompetence of the employees . I cannot believe how unsafe and unsanitary these people are ! Like the guy literally finished cutting someone's hair and told me to sit in the chair RIGHT AFTER HIM. I asked him if he was going to clean up the hair first and he said " are you afraid of a little hair "? No, who in the hell is afraid of hair ? It's unsanitary ! I told him that I wanted him to clean the hair first and then sanitize the chair ! Like really ? He told me that Covid isn't real and I shouldn't worry about it . He said the owner doesn't make them follow the guidelines so if I don't like the way they were doing things I could leave . ABSOLUTELY ! Grabbed my stuff and on to the next one ! DO NOT COME HERE . read more

Not sure why this place gets bad reviews..this is the only place I go for a cut and the people who work here have never been rude to me. KILLED IT!!!! I went in the shop with only hopes and dreams, now I got the ladies confusing me for Usher. "U-S-H-E-R" Seriously though, the gentleman who cut my hair (Jamié) was extremely professional and stuck the job out until I was satisfied. I got a 2 on top with a shadow fade (1) on the sides, and "ice pick" side burns to top it off. One more happy customer. read more

This barbershop is probably the best barbershop in Avondale. All the other ones I went to either were dirty, rude or, really don't care and give you a shitty haircut. Got my haircut here on Saturday and my haircut was exactly what I've ask for! Friendly staff and not a bad wait on a Saturday. (Only waited for 30 minutes) This is my second time coming here and I have to say, The barbers here really get into detail in what you want and how you want it. read more

Guys are great. They all cut legit. Super friendly. Have never been dissapointed and great with kids

On my way home stopped by this place to give it a try. Hair cut came out clean and left satisfied. Will go back.

Took my son here for his first hair cut on a Sunday, only had to wait about 10 mins which is AWESOME with an impatient 2 year old. They were really nice and didn't look at me like a crazy mama when I asked to collect his hair to save. Will be going back again read more

Best barber shop and a good costumer service and the people work there are amazing I had a fresh haircut and I love it

OK, this was my first visit to A-town and I have to say I'm quite impressed! I called at about 6:15 to see if they could cut my son's hair. He's mixed so I wanted to make sure that I went to a shop the new how to cut his hair. I didn't get there until about 6:25 and even though they close at 6:45 he still cut his hair. The barber was very professional and did an amazing job with my son. I have a new Barber. I'm sorry that I forgot to ask his name but today is November 2nd and he said his birthday was tomorrow if that helps. another gentleman came in and was incredibly friendly as well. Great job, I recommend them for anybody! read more

I usually take my son to his usual barber who always did an excellent job, but unfortunately he up and left from his job with no where to be found. So I had to choose a barber from the many in my area, and I choose this place. I used the already positive reviews to help me decide, and all I can say is that I am glad that I did choose this place. Miguel the barber my son was assigned too did an excellent job! I'm glad I was lucky in choosing a good barber on the first try. Miguel took his time, and was very detailed in his work. The atmosphere is very dude like but very nice compared to most barbers. I will definitely come back for all my sons haircuts. Price was a little higher than the other barber I use to go to but it matches the quality I suppose. Ask for Miguel. read more

I made the call to see what the wait was like & if they do walk ins? He said "There is a wait but nothing we can't handle." I drive over with my nephew to get his hair cut & a design at 1:45 p.m. We ended up sitting here for over an hour. (I did take this kid away from his skate time with his fam. We are visiting for the day & it's been months since we all connected. What is my point? I just feel like the barbers don't care about our time.) During this time 2 customers walked out because it was taking too long! It came down to us being the only ones waiting. Then this lady walks in, takes a seat, waits about 15 mins & they take her in. I'm thinking wow! But she could've scheduled an appointment? I need to add they charge more if you make an appointment. So after observing, it was his cousin he took in. Family preference here, but if you don't mind waiting & your related to someone here it might not be a big deal. Anyway, once they cleared some customers, some barbers walked out to smoke with the customers they just serviced. My nephew was finally called up & another customer walks in but this cig is more important with the last customers. I understand they need breaks but to wait this long? It's ridiculous. This will be the last time I ever come here. read more

Visited from out of town. Jaime took really great care for my son. He has tight curls and lots of hair. Most barbers would want to just clipper cut it all but that not what we like He took my son and picked out his fro, and took his TIME on shaping it up SO NICE, and lined him up with not just the trimmers but the old school blade. Eyebrows and all too, even though it took a while to cut his hair, I loved how he kept going back and picking the hair out and making sure every pieve laid just right. The other gentleman in there Alex, was also very nice. Both of these men made us very comfortable and most of all made my son a very happy young man. Thanks again guys, we know were to come form now on when we visit. xoxo Nancy read more
