However, less than two years after the first repair, the roof began leaking again in the exact area they had previously worked on. I contacted Andrew multiple times by phone and text message, but he never responded. As the leak worsened - becoming more severe than the original issue - I also sent emails and called the business line, yet received no return calls or responses of any kind. After exhausting all attempts to reach B & R Roofing, I hired another roofing company to repair the issue. That company documented B & R Roofing's prior work and confirmed that the repairs were incomplete. Specifically, B & R Roofing only patched a very small section where the leak was visible and did not replace the roof underlayment, despite quoting and accepting payment for that work. After reviewing other customer feedback, it is clear this is a pattern in how B & R Roofing operates. I strongly recommend that potential customers carefully consider their business practices before hiring them. I will also be filing a formal complaint with the Santa Barbara Contractors Board

The work was done quickly, by professionals and looks great. Now the good part. The work crew performed the repair in half of the estimated time. McLean's called back afterwards and said they were cutting the quote in half and to wait for a 50% invoice. When was the last time you heard of that? They were on time and on budget. Nathan Anderson handled everything as my point of contact and he was always accessible and accountable. He is professional and manages an exceptional team. The day the beam was replaced I was amazed at how well the crew worked together and removed the existing beam and replaced it with a new glue lam beam. The beam jutted through the exterior wall so stucco had to be torn out and patched. The final product is better looking than the original! The project was not without any glitches, as most usually are not! However I am pleased with the results and the manner that issues were handled. We have 2 homes with tile roofs as well and one had to have 2 major leaks fixed. One leak was from a nail that was part of the roof install originally but caused a long term leak. Two areas of the tile roof had to be completely removed down to the wood and replaced. The shingles were saved and put back on and you cannot tell it was repaired. The fascia had rotted from the leaking and was replaced. Excellent work.

Mr. Melena is a nice guy but the quality of work by his crew is terrible…read more They broke several brown roof tiles and did not replace them they just glued together with white caulking. They replaced portions of the sheeting and it was not cut to fit, leaving gaps in the rafter joints. The sheet metal channel was not installed with proper alignment to drain rain water efficiently. Small areas of facia board replacement were not cut properly and the joint caulking was not actually caulking but spackle compound. They tore an eighteen inch gash in my slider screen and did not have it repaired. They were also hired to replace additional fascia board and never returned to finish the job. I learned my lesson, a handshake is worthless.
