I must've had at least 7 or 8 different Roofers climb up on my Central Coast roof & then send me their estimates. Efficient Roofing did an excellent job on installing a new roof on my house in summer 2022. Rafael is quick to respond and provided a competitive quote. My quote from Efficient Roofing provided additional customer confidence by capturing everything beyond installing a new roof, like replacing old rotted wood and caulking piping on top of the roof. They cleaned up all old roofing shingles left on the premises after each day on the job and use a large magnet to capture all of the old nails as well. It is my pleasure to write this review. Every homeowner knows who has, or is looking into investing in a new roof how stressful the process can be - especially if the owner isn't familiar with roof details. I am familiar, as a former property manager; I feel qualified to give accolades for the work Efficient Roofing performed. I took in a dozen bids and carefully reviewed each word in response to my requirements and extra requests. Just know that when it comes to the price of the job - you get what you pay for. I don't trust low bids. My roof is "equity."Efficient Roofing gave me a bid higher than my sweet spot, and I am so glad I chose them. My roof was in such bad shape when they tore off the shingles I still feel guilty that they didn't come in higher. Most of the plywood and the facia was rotten and had to be replaced. (See the pics.) The bid included line items which other bids charged extra. I had one bid that wrote into the contract "the right to a change order" on every line item. (The right to charge more $.) Efficient Roofing is HONEST. That's gold! They didn't lay down that cheap, thin cellophane plastic underlayment, they used a substantial, durable material called "Diamond Deck," it felt like Kevlar! $ ! You know that's not cheap! The quality of the job is "Security." $ ! The details of the job are as important to Efficient Roofing as they are to you - even if you don't know it. Of this I am certain. You will be taken care of. The owner, Juan Sanchez, who runs his company with his "talented craftsmen" like a family, and his right hand man, Rafael Gonzales (golden) never leave the job site. One of them is always there. They work harmoniously, quietly, respectfully. The owner works right alongside his team. Who does that? The foreman Tony, is so personable and polite and eagle eyed that I stopped worrying and gave them space to perform their art. I had solar tubes installed. They were so careful and amazingly clean and tidy. What a difference with the natural, bright light. I am so thrilled! I asked for attic vents, which are low profile and do not mess up the roofline. This last heat wave didn't impact the interior temperature of my home compared to last year. That's $ ! They can install solar attic fans and old school attic fans. That's my next project. Efficient Roofing rolled down the street with big, beautiful trucks, a serious operation! I was impressed. They do their own tear off, everything is "in house," nothing is left to chance. I highly recommend Efficient Roofing for their quality of workmanship, customer service, and professionalism. Rafael gave me a competitive quote for the two roofs - the main house and a mother-in-law unit in the back. He explained things clearly, and responded quickly to all of my questions. When his crew came, they were on time, and worked amazingly quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality of workmanship. They were able to finish the roofs for two houses in two and a half days. They always cleaned up completely at the end of each day. The two roofs look beautiful. They noticed that caps were missing on our water heater pipes and replaced them, and replaced some rotten fascia boards and other roof boards with no extra charge. Rafael has a drone and provided me with lots of photos of their progress and the final result. He was able to show me close-up photos of a skylight that needed replacing due to a crack. Gutter extraordinaire! After discovering that the downspout from the gutter has steadily been damaging my wall, I sought assistance from Efficient Roofing. Rafael squeezed in an appointment to view my gutters. He saw that a piece of metal, which is supposed to connect to the downspout, was not connected because of a loose screw. He immediately fixed it. Since he was at the property, he gave me a free roof assessment (it's good, thank goodness) and cleaned out my gutters from the excess of nearby pine trees. He didn't charge me for any of this! He fixed my long-term problem and educated me on maintenance of gutters. Due to neighboring pines, it's something I will have to do every 2-4 months. I'm new to the gutter thing so it's good to know maintenance recommendations. What an incredible service! An HONEST company! I love it! We needed to replace about 80 broken tiles on our lightweight concrete shingle roof. We called several roofing companies to get quotes and only a couple cared to respond when we told them it was a small repair job. Efficiency Roofing gave us a bid on the spot. It turned out to be our best bid. Unfortunately, our tiles were no longer being manufactured. Efficiency Roofing did an excellent job of locating the additional roof tiles that we needed and scheduled the repair work promptly. In completing the repairs, we learned there were more broken tiles than could be seen before the work started. Efficiency Roofing managed to locate additional roof tiles and pick them up at a location near Redlands California. Work was completed on schedule. Efficiency Roofing honored the original bid price despite having to get more tiles and make the trip to pick them up. All work was completed in a very workman like fashion. We were very pleased with the work that was completed and the excellent level of communication. Last April I noticed some decolorization on the ceiling in a couple of rooms after a big rain storm. I saw the positive reviews on Yelp for "Efficient Roofing" and contacted Rafael. He responded back that day and completed the work within 10 days. Fast forward to October when the "atmospheric river" hit San Luis Obispo and one of the 3 areas that had problems in April was damp again. I contacted Rafael that day and he called me back immediately and came by later that same afternoon. He had a good idea of what was wrong, but wanted to wait until the rain stopped and everything dried up on the roof. He came out the following week and pulled up a bunch of tiles and found that the paper had deteriorated over time due to large amounts of water draining into a small area. He repapered a large area on one side of my roof due to the damage. When I asked him what I owed him, he responded "nothing." I very highly recommend Efficient Roofing Inc. to anyone in their service region. They responded quickly and provided a very competitive estimate. Raphael came over to examine the roof and showed me places with additional layers of shingles, wood issues and other things to be addressed. Competitors' estimates did not incorporate additional amounts for taking care of such issues, just stated there could be additional costs if issues were found. Efficient roofing took all that into account in their estimate. That inspired some confidence in them. They were very flexible about incorporating my requests regarding additional venting, an attic fan and skylight replacement. The work started on the agreed date, was done in a very professional and conscientious manner. There were no additional charges despite some unforeseen issues. They paid attention to details such as placement and blending-in of vents and flashing and the addition of a shallow gutter where a normal gutter wouldn't work. Our roof had a cracked tile that needed to be replaced. I requested a quote from Efficient Roofing through Yelp. I got a phone call very quickly and I asked him if I could email him a photo of the tile. He agreed and sent me his email address. I then sent him the photo. Had my roof replaced in Nov 2020. There was extensive leakage and water damage that needed replacing. Efficient Roofing was the only one of several estimates that gave me a contract quote. They got all the permits and inspections done within that price also. The others were all "estimates" that were open ended depending on the damage. Efficient Roofing spent more time assessing the damage than even the insurance company did. I received email pictures throughout the process. They had to strip three layers of old roofing, repair and replace boards and some facial boards. It was all done in a few days.
