We contacted RoofCrafters after the big hail storm this past Spring in Central Texas. Our insurance company told us our 1 year old roof and gutters were completely damaged and needed to be replaced. We had Al come out to give us an estimate and he came out immediately and even did some remediation to the damaged roof to temporarily stop any leaks until they could get the material ordered and scheduled. Al did a tremendous job keeping us updated throughout the process and even worked directly with our insurance claims representative. Ronnie then did a great job coordinating schedules and timelines for the roof install. Once the install took place, the workers showed up on-time, were very polite, and did a tremendous job cleaning up after themselves which is a big deal with dogs and sharp nails/pieces/etc. I am hoping I don't need a new roof anytime soon, but if I do I will definitely use RoofCrafters again and will mention them to all of our neighbors! read more

After my neighbor refered Roofcrafters and I realized they were a local company, I was excited to support a local business and improve my roof quality after having damage from a hail storm. They provided me with a lot of details and consistently checked in with me, that is until I signed the contract and paid the insurance deductible. After that, it seemed that I was their last priority and I was never kept in the loop on my roof + gutter scheduling. When the guys arrived the day before the roof job, they didn't even let me know they were at the house and we just heard loud bangs on the roof. Overall, the quality of the roof and gutters seems great and I haven't had any issues. However, I noticed that they added some type of flashing on the front of my house and sloppily caulked it and painted it with a color that didn't match my house, as well as got paint on my home's stone. I have contacted them and they denied doing this twice. Luckily, I had before and after photos showing that it was indeed added and they agreed to fix the job. Well, almost 3 months have gone by and I have contacted them at least 5 times and nothing. I was told they would come by "in a couple weeks" and then was ghosted. I even called the main office to explain the issue and showed them photos and still, nothing. If you go with this company and want communication/updates or are unhappy with the job, don't expect any response. read more

My husband and I were looking for a solution for the pergola extension we had added to our house. We were tired of rain dumping on the patio and wanted to install a professional roof to the area. I called roofcrafters becuase they were highly recommended by a friend, and brainstormed a solution with them. We chose a flat roof. Once we paid the deposit, the job was scheduled within 2 weeks and they completed the job (undoing the top of the pergola and screens we had installed on it, and installing a new roof and timber under it, and reattached our gutters afterwards) in 1 day! So we reschedule for Mon @ 3:00 pm, called @2:50 to say that he was running late and that it be close to 5:00 told him to never mind, he can't keep his Appt's. Very unprofessional. read more

We just had our house in NW Austin re-painted by Roof Crafters, out of Leander (512-331-5500). Actually, it was our main house + a small office building in back + a metal tool shed -- to make everything match. We called them because they did some extensive work for us in 2009 -- new shingles, plus a new roof over a porch which involved lots of carpentry work + interior painting. They did an excellent job for what we considered to be a reasonable price back then, so we called them again when the peeling paint & irritating color finally got to us. They have an excellent painter, who is not only good but extremely meticulous. He is always nit-picking his own work and that of his crew to make everything perfect. For example, he finds a seam between some siding and brick, something that most painters, I am sure, would ignore. They'd just paint the siding and move on. But Julian, the Roofcrafters chief painter, insists that the seam should be filled and not just caulked. He mortars it -- then he caulks over that -- then paints over that. So, it's perfect. That's the kind of work the guy does. Even so, the price we paid was the price we had agreed to originally on the contract. Nothing was added, nothing had to be re-negotiated. We think they are not cheap but not over-priced, either. And they are amenable to a little negotiation downward as you work out the contract. They do at least roofing, carpentry and painting. We've not only had them do the two major jobs for us now, we've referred them for roofing jobs to two other people, who both reported back to us about the great job they did. Our brand new garage wasn't built yet, but we knew we would need a roofer. We had already estimated how much it would cost, but I contacted five different companies to get exact bids. Only two companies even bothered to get back with me! Roofcrafters provided the lowest quote of the two, and Jay at Roofcrafters sent their proof of insurance at the same time, which saved me from that followup question. I was mostly panicked about timing. We still had to build the garage and get it ready for roofing. But we couldn't provide an exact date for when the roofers could start. Jay was very patient and he reassured me that they would be able to get the job done right away, once I called to tell them that the garage was ready for a roof. I also worried that the garage shingles wouldn't match the house shingles, but Jay came out, had a look at the house, and said it would be no problem to match. Everyone at Roofcrafters was very professional, and they took time and care to answer my questions. Sure enough, when we were at last ready for shingles and I called, Roofcrafters scheduled to start a couple days later. They showed up on time, and they finished the job and cleaned up that same day. The shingles matched the house shingles perfectly. My husband approved of the job. Roofcrafters even sent out a guy the next day to give the roof a quality inspection and address any questions or concerns we might have. We certainly didn't expect that! Sustainable high winds and roofing shingles often times don't get along. I experienced this event this week where the winds have been a fairly consistent 40 mph for the past few days. My shingles ripped off like dominoes falling. I called Roof Crafters and spoke to several of their staff/sales team members. Without fail, every single one of them were on top their game and over the top awesome. Their sales manager, Chris Cogburn, was at my house within an hour, inspected the damage, wrote a bid and had the job ordered with Ronnie Stone at his office within half an hour. Their field tech, Jeff, was at my house four hours later and had my entire roof repaired within an hour or so. Same day service? Until yesterday I would have said "what's that"? Roof Crafters reminded me of what that means yesterday. Kudos to them for understanding and practicing superior customer service. They are a relationship sort of company. Hard to find these days. We have worked with Roofcrafters since 2008. They were recommended by our State Farm agent. They replaced a roof on our personal home and 2 of our investment properties. In 2013, Roofcrafters added a 3rd car garage and did an excellent job for us. In late 2015 and early 2016 we did some remodeling inside our house. We changed our outdated "wet bar" to another 1/2 bath. We also had them knock out a stone wall to add another staircase to make the living area more accessible. We are very pleased with the work that was done. I also must mention that Al Cooley was the one who kept the project on schedule and was always attentive to our calls and questions! We had Roof Crafters come out to our home in Taylor to put up Hardie Siding on our home and to replace some of the doors on our older sheds, as only the doors were rotting. We also had them replace all of our old, unsightly gutters. The crew came out and completed all of the siding work 1st and then the they replaced our old gutters that were in terrible shape. The work that they did was so impressive!! The new gutters are almost invisible as they blend in so well with our home. The crew completely cleaned up after themselves each day as well. We are so pleased that we have our home looking like we wanted it to look. This is a great First Class company and we would recommend Roof Crafters to everyone! Called them and scheduled a meeting to review my roof. I have a flat roof of some sort of foam material that was at end of life. The estimator was great and assured me that he would contact me. I called them 10 days straight trying to figure out whether or not they would provide a quote, and each day I was told that they would. On the 10th day, I called asking if my quote was ready. The gentleman said he would check and he called me back say "sorry somebody else should do your job.". We really could have gotten to that understanding much sooner. First off, I'll admit I'm picky. It took me a year to decide what roofing company to hire to replace my roof after hail damage. Last summer I hired Roofcrafters, based on a positive referral from someone in my neighborhood yahoo group. They are not cheap (higher than the 3 other bids I received), but they seemed very professional and knowledgeable up front. In other words, excellent sales. The roof work itself turned out fine. Not perfect, but fine. (And I actually got up on the roof to look at it.) However, attention to detail & communication have been poor. Some of the carpentry work was left incomplete, and while they seem willing to send someone out to do it, they are totally unreliable about communicating when the heck they are coming. They definitely could have done a better job of cleaning up. There is quite a bit of roof debris left in my attic, and I've found a number of roofing nails in the yard & in my gravel drive, including one that gave me a flat tire. A window screen got torn and hasn't been repaired. A section of gutter was removed & not replaced, as discussed. Basically, you feel like a valued customer until you're on the hook. After a major hail storm last April, we had RoofCrafters do everything; roof, gutters, windows, paint, driveway, patio, garage doors, a very large job. Due to hot weather we opted to defer roof work until cooler weather, but wanted other work done as soon as possible. Come August, I had to fight for every step of progress. Work slowly began in September. In October I escalated to one of the owners hoping for progress. On my bird-dogging the work was finally complete in mid-December, months after all surrounding homes were repaired. RC is a family business, so accountability is not there when you try to escalate. Their sub-contractors are low quality, you'll have to manage them after RC makes the appointments and takes 20% overhead and profit. Balls were dropped everywhere. Just had a GAF Designer Roof installed Roof optically looks like a clay tile roof, very cool. Not an inexpensive project, but this looks awesome. Roofcrafters did a great job. Had insurance adjuster for hail damage. Mike met him and walked the roof with him. Big project, had to wait about a month for schedule and product, worth the wait. They picked up debris and the lunch and water bottles around the house. They submitted everything to insurance company. Neighbor using them now. Great job. Highly recommend. read more

I had a leak in one of my bathroom skylights. I called our insurance provider and they recommended Roof Crafters. I called and was put in touch with Danny who was able to come out for same day service for an estimate. Not only did he fix the issue on the spot, but he was incredibly courteous, prompt, and flexible with when to meet. He got right to business, and diagnosed the issue immediately. We no longer have a leak and it's all thanks to Danny! Not only that, but because of the ease of the fix, he even waived the service call fee! I can't thank him enough. They took 9 months to do a job that should have been weeks, over charged me and caused a residual problem that will cost me at minimum 6 months to fix. Their response to an independent assessment was to absolve themselves of any liability and to date, I've talked to nobody but the 'Project Manager' who oversaw the fiasco in the first place. To say they are unprofessional is an understatement; I'm a technology executive and if one of my PM's had performed this poorly or had such an insolent attitude, I'd have fired them. read more

I needed my siding replaced and someone in my neighborhood recommended Roof Crafters. I called and got an immediate response. Chris Cogburn was at my house in next to no time. He talked to me about what I wanted, told me what he recommended and he took measurements. Chris came back in a couple of days and went through everything he planned to do to make my house look beautiful. I already had a couple of other bids that were outrageous and I was afraid to see what the price was going to be for what Chris was describing. I was happily surprised by a lower bid than the others and told him to "sign me up!" The contract was extremely detailed and Chris went over every bit of it with me. Chris and his crew were outstanding to work with from day one. The work crew did an awesome job pulling off the existing siding and installing the Hardie siding. They cleaned up everyday when they were done and they were always very polite. It did't take long and now my house looks brand new and it was built in 1979. Roof Crafters did a totally awesome job replacing and painting my siding. A great price and a job well done - what more could you ask for? We had a interesting experience with a FLAT roof installation by roof crafters. The roof material is a lifetime material called (IB- Membrame). We had a good experience up until the work started and it was installed. The cost of the lifetime roof is around $32,000 for Flat roof, big long house. We have no problem with the IB Roof material that we paid for, but we do have an issue with WHO and HOW the IB material was installed. It was installed by shingle roof installers, that were not familiar with the material at all.The installers ran out of material and patched almost one whole side of the roof. We have been unhappy and not satisfied since the completion date Nov. 2014. Looks like we are going to have to seek legal advice on how to move forward with Roof Crafters. Brooke S. read more

I highly recommend Roofcrafters to do your house repairs. They replaced my siding with hardiplank. They were very efficient and professional. Chris Cogburn was the GC. He advised with great care and attention to what we needed and made recommendations that made our house look brand new and its 25 years old. When we start on our interior we will definitely contact Roofcrafters again. In addition to our siding, they replaced our front, back and garage doors. Added electrical outlets outside and had cedar park garage doors install the garage doors and install new openers. I just had Roofcrafters replace a metal roof with a new one. The old one, which they did not install, was put together with spit and glue compared with the new one. While I hate to tempt fate, I can't imagine this roof ever leaking after the very solid installation that included decking, ice and water shield, and a hand-crafted roof. This was a very polite and hard-working crew that showed up on the day they said they would and worked a couple of long days to get the job done. Their estimate was also very competitive compared to other roofing companies with whom I consulted. I would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

I have to say that I'm a very patient person, however, my patience has been pushed to it's limits dealing with this company. I had a modest job. Replace my back sliding glass door with a pair of french doors and replace an upstairs door with a matching door. Because of the size of the door, it was a custom order, so I was given the estimate of taking 6-8 weeks, so far, it's taken about 38 weeks and I'm still waiting for the final resolution. After about 10 weeks, I called to try to find out what was taking so long... turns out it was a scheduling thing with the sub-contracted door installer. When the installer finally got there, he said that the door was ordered with the wrong swing.... so I had to wait for another order of the door. This time it was about 12 weeks before they came out again. This time, they installed the doors, but they were about 10 inches smaller than they needed to be... Imagine, almost a foot off on your measurements... YIKES! By this time, I find out that my company is moving me and I really need this project completed. Many many calls were made trying to contact they guy who i've been dealing with and I could never get ahold of him... finally, he returns one of my many calls and we get the doors installed. Sheetrock and painting remains. They come out and do the finish up, but at the end of the project, the last contact I had on the project didn't speak any english. When I inspected the work, there was plaster splashed on the wall, parts of the wall was only painted in one coat, so you could even see paint strokes. Parts of their work didn't have texture on it, and now portions of the paint is pealing.... only after 2 weeks. Very very poor quality. So here we are at 8 months later and I'm given an invoice for the full amount... no discount for a job, by their own admission was botched and full of mistakes on their end. I asked for a modest %15 discount.... and of course they are not accommodating that, even though they take full responsibility for everything that went wrong.... just doesn't make any sense to me. read more

I had my house reroofed this month (Jan 2014) and couldn't be more pleased with the professionalism and quality work provided by the employees of RoofCrafters. Danny worked with me and my insurance company and made things as easy as possible all along the way. He was very responsive to all my questions and concerns. A couple guys arrived on a Monday to drop off all roofing supplies and the crew showed up early on Tuesday and Wednesday to complete the whole job which was extensive. We recently had hale and about 4 dozen roofing companies hounding us in our neighborhood. I met with Danny at Roofcrafters for over an hour to get an estimate. When I told him that I was getting quotes from a few others he was shocked. He would not send me a quote via email or mail until after meeting with me again and frankly did not want to waste time with this co until I had more info on their pricing. Part of metal roof was damaged. Danny came out and was very energetic and confident that he could get my entire metal roof replaced. He had worked with many insurance companies. His company would also handle the wood repair near the damaged metal roof. He was very receptive until a few days later when the City of Austin experienced a severe hail storm. Danny's interest disappeared and I never got a bid. When I finally got ahold of him he said he had responded to the hail area, had been very busy and talked to some of the senior adjusters and roofers also working the hail damaged area and they all told him there was no way I could get the entire roof replaced. So he left it at that. Basically, he was not going to put a bid together to send to the insurance company. So I reached out to a competitor and they discovered that my older style of metal roof no longer existed (true statement). The insurance company approved replacing my entire metal roof. I am now going from a 20 year old galvalume rainguard roof to a striated snap lock standing seam roofing system. Danny couldn't see the forest for the trees. read more

Having to wait 5 weeks wasn't so great but I get that there was a lot of business. Having to tell them to get off the grass that we were trying to grow even though there was stakes and strings was a bit annoying as was telling them to clean up their lunch trash out of my yard. Then having to call them back to fix the several things that were left undone/unfinished which, thankfully, they took care of right away which was good. However!!! We were told that they would send us a bill after they contacted our insurance. Got the bill...no insurance adjustment. Another one...no insurance adjustment. Didn't think much about it being summer and travelling so much. Third bill comes with a threat of collections for NON-payment!! Ummmmm.........where were the TWO guys that were supposed to do their job!!!! So WE had to call the insurance!! Got the money and sent them a partial. Two weeks later get a letter with threat of lein against our home!! REALLY!! Y'all don't do your jobs and then treat us like the bad guys!! Come on.....get it together!! read more

I just replaced the hail damaged roof of my rental property. Based on Yelp Reviews, I called couple of roofing companies with BBB members to get an estimate for my hailed damaged roof. One company gave an estimate without covering the porch and shed and did not want to deal with insurance companies. Another one did not show up on time and then project manager had an attitude problem. Finally came across Roofcrafter. As mentioned by the roofcrafter appointment scheduler, roof crafter project manager Wes called on the same day to schedule an appointment. He was on time for all appointments...for taking measurements, giving estimates, later on for inspecting. Team at Roofcrafter too were very co-operative and prompt in responding. They made sure to get the GAF warranty as promised. Wes Specifically reviewed approved Insurance documents and defended my case for better coverage. Roofcrafter team worked very well getting the invoices to the Insurance company on time. This helped me to get the insurance money within one month for my on time payment. Wes specifically followed with the insurance and always responded back to any question or queries I had. Was Very happy with the way my project was handled. Was Pleased with Wes's role in managing my project and highly satisfied with the roofcrafter team in getting this project complete.
