Paul at Allied worked with me over the course of four months figuring out the best way to deal with the problem. The solution was a channel drain that would lead to my existing gutter drainage system. Because of the topography of my existing driveway, I assumed that there would still be a fair amount of puddling even after the drain was installed and that I would just have to live with it. In the days just after the install however, it rained quite a bit, and the drain worked pretty much perfectly. The puddling has been reduced by about 95%, and the water that does collect is shallow enough to handle easily. After the rain stops, the remains evaporate after a few hours. The small lake that I used to have to walk around is gone. The guys who did the install were professional and very courteous and Paul was very knowledgeable and patient in response to my many, many questions and emails leading up to the install. Wise Choice uses a platform for selecting materials and so forth that was great in theory, rather questionable in practice, and our wires got crossed more than a few times. The time issue was simply that the projects took a bit longer than we'd planned. The time problem though was at least partly our fault (changing our minds about design, etc), and that was compounded by suppliers actually sending the wrong product on occasion, so certainly not all a Wise Choice issue. Other than that, they were great to work with, very pleasant people all around, very conscientious (cleaning up work spaces thoroughly every day), and the entire project came in under budget! We will definitely reach out to them again for our next remodel.

We first learned about Wise Choice through Yelp, and although we were initially nervous about choosing a contractor for such a large job (they gave us the best estimate, by far!) without a personal recommendation, we couldn't be happier with our decision. They were great to work with throughout the entire process, from architectural and engineering plans, permitting, and the actual construction. The project manager, Sergiy, and foreman, Bogdan, were very honest, helpful, and responsive every step of the way. The project was completed pretty much on budget (with only a couple of unforeseen issues outside of their control) and on time. We love the results, and several people have commented that the addition looks like it should have been there all along. We can't recommend Wise Choice highly enough!

I had "Innovative" Foundation Solutions (IFS) raise a foundation wall at my home that was below…read moregrade. The experience was far from innovative. The project had so many mistakes that it's amazing it was ever completed. During the project, they dropped the corner of the house off the supports while it wasn't supported by the foundation, they redirected AC drains to go up instead of down which caused flooding in our basement, they poured a non level, and non true wall, and finally when they replaced the framing that they had removed they replaced it with framing so poorly constructed that it didn't actually support the weight of the house. To top it off they installed this framing right before the winter holidays, and then left us with springy floors and didn't return our calls or come out to fix the problem until after the holiday season had ended. Now about a year later the wall they poured is leaking, and they seem completely disinterested in honoring their warranty. I cannot recommend that anyone use this contractor until they: 1. Can hire labor that actually knows something about foundations and framing 2. Learns how to actually provide customer service, and honor their warranties.

I ungraciously assumed it wouldn't have been attempt to price match, but to take another opportunity to push me more on his proposals.
