Our roof was leaking around the chimney on rainy, windy days. Jason came out and inspected the roof and temporarily tarped our chimney and estimated the remaining life of our roof. We discussed options and they promptly sent a reasonable bid for the roof repair. As we no longer used it we decided to have the chimney removed. The technicians were on time, professional and finished the job in one day. They did a great job matching the tiles and also repaired some pipe vent flashing. I had them cleaned my composite roof. A young man, Ty, came on time and we had a quick chat. He was quite polite. He removed the ridge cap shingles to install a couple of D anchors for attaching safety harnesses. The slope of my roof is pretty steep. Then he air blew the moss and sprinkled a white moss treatment powder. He cleaned up the mess pretty well. The whole experience went well. Roof Therapy provided me with an estimate to replace two leaking and aging skylights at my home in Gig Harbor. I'd received a second estimate that was 1/3 more and a third contractor declined to even offer an estimate. Roof Therapy ordered the new skylights and updated me when they were in. Raining, had a leak and started calling roof repair folks. This one was close by and I like to do local so called them first. They said it would be a day before they could come out, not a problem but then they called back and said they could come right away to at least give us an estimate. Gave us an estimate and when I asked when he could do the work, he said he wasn't sure there were 20 jobs ahead of us. I called this morning and asked and the receptionist said, well sometime within a week. Obviously too many jobs, not enough people and somehow they need a better scheduling system. Completely agree with the previously recorded negative reviews. Our experience with Jason/Roof Therapy was disappointing and unprofessional. Similar to the review of "Janie P" our estimate included the installation of permanent anchors (nearly half of our $600+ estimate). In a rush to complete a few minor items before the close of our home, I initially approved the estimate via voicemail. I then found other companies who temporarily install their own at no cost. I let Jason know and he responded via text that he would need written authorization (specifically my approval via email) before he could proceed. He later stated he requested this in addition to my vm because he had a "bad vibe." We ultimately found another company to do the work. We never sent the written authorization Jason requested. Bad vibes or company policy, we understood this request to mean the work would not be done without approval. Days later, we learned he had proceeded despite. I texted and reminded him I never authorized the work. He said he would call to discuss and never called. He sent a past due invoice. I again texted and requested a call to discuss. He never called. Months later, we learned he contacted the company that represented the sale of our home. He shared with them my initial vm approval and none of the communications that followed. Perhaps this was an attempt to malign us while retaining his referrals. It was a bad look and an unsuccessful effort on his part. The nice thing about technology is that everything is time stamped. We are able to prove that his request for written authorization to proceed occurred after the initial vm approval and several days before the work was completed. In addition, he admitted the authorization was never received. We paid the bill despite his lack of decency or accountability. The lesson learned is that there are many other highly regarded roofing professionals in the area. Hire an honest professional. Check the Yelp reviews (be sure to click on the "reviews that are not recommended"...in this case they would have really been helpful). I wish I would have! read more

I was in the process of selling my home and at inspection the roof was found to have some deficiencies. I called Roof Therapy and Zach came out the next day to provide an estimate for the work that needed to be completed. I received the estimate the next day and it was very thorough and addressed each of the items identified on the inspection report. The crew arrived within a week to complete the job. They showed up on time, were courteous, left my roof and yard neat and clean, and just did a great job. They were also willing to work with with me on a very short timeline to complete the project. I love this company and can't say enough good things about them. I have used them for cleaning several times and for a major roof repair and oiling. Their work is guaranteed and gave me a lot of peace of mind. They were just out yesterday to clean off my roof. I emailed to set up an appointment, they responded to me that day and told me that one of the guys would be out to give me an estimate of the work in the next few days. I had the estimate the next day. The scheduled me for about a week out. The timing wasn't convenient for me so they rescheduled with no problem. The tech showed up on time and was super courteous. He was extremely thorough with the cleaning. The thing that blew me away was how well he cleaned up afterward. I'd had a small leak on an interior wall that I'd put off dealing with, but it recently became a bigger leak! I was really happy with Roof Therapy. Everyone I dealt with was super nice and professional. They came out promptly, gave me a very reasonable estimate, and explained what needed to be done. My roof is in its last few years, so I didn't want to spend a lot, and Jason suggested two other minor, inexpensive repairs (cracked shingles and aged sealant) to help it last safely [I've had other roofers try to sell me expensive additional work; that's NOT what this was]. While he was checking out the leak he even took down an old antenna that had come loose. The estimate was pretty much exactly what he said it would be, and the work was done within 24 hours (right before another rainstorm hit). Problem solved! read more

I had the company rep, Jason out several times. When he actually answered my emails. I gave them free reign to tell me what our new homes roof needed. It seemed to me they didn't want to do the work. I did have them fix a few leaks which now need to be re repaired. Jason told me their work is NOT guaranteed. . I also had the entire tile roof cleaned and inspected for any issues. More than once. I was told they saw nothing wrong. I am now in the process of finding a tile roofer to fix all of the obvious things that need fixing , the obvious items Roof Therapy told me nothing about. I suspected a leak around my chimney and gave Roof Therapy a call. They had someone out first thing the next morning. Pablo was polite and on-time. He gave me a bid for having my flashing replaced, but told me in his opinion there was no leak around the roof and that my chimney mortar was probably bad. He referred me to a masonry company and gave me their number. He was honest and didn't try to sell me work I didn't (yet) need done. 04/08/2017 The roof leaked after the repair and caused damage to the interior. Took Roof Therapy to court and won a judgement in Pierce County District Court against them. Case #6Z902537C. They had to pay back the money I had paid for the re-repair of their supposed repair.. Avoid trouble and stay clear of the sales pitch by this company. The salesman is a mealy mouthed Eddie Haskel type, who might be able to talk the legs off a chair, but the company did defective inferior work on my house. Horrible experience and terrible work. Try Tony's Roofcare instead. They know their craft. They fixed my leak correctly. Tony's business is built around ability to do the job correctly instead of say-anything sales pitch. Roof Therapy has substandard skills and no guarantee, so you have to take them to court to get your money back if they don't do the work correctly. Avoid them at all costs. Roof Therapy both cleaned and stained our cedar roof two years ago. They did a fantastic job. Over the past two years, we have had shingles fly off every now and then. For no cost, they have come out to replace the missing shingle and in a VERY timely manner. They are very courteous and customer service oriented. read more

This is a much belated review. In July 2014 I hired Roof Therapy to fix a leak caused by someone who installed a screen on my roof to keep pigeons from under an eave. Since it was summer and we had no rain I didn't know if they solved the problem. Since then we've been through two very rainy winters and there has been no problem. I should also add that I hired another roofer for the same problem the previous winter. I called that guy back after his first repair failed to solve the problem -- when his second attempt at the repair failed I looked for another roofer and hired Roof Therapy. They found the problem and fixed it in short order. The crew was friendly and the owner followed up -- I'd hire them again in a minute should I have another roofing problem. read more

Be very careful about considering Roof Therapy Inc. (RT) for roof work. Recent experience (Nov. 2017) was terrible. The advance estimator 'Z' gave us an estimate of $510 + tx for a roof repair over our garage that he couldn't identify, or locate, and wouldn't warranty the work. Eventually the bill for the repair (exactly ONE hour on-site) was $510 + tx, exactly (amazing yes!), which included $60 worth of materials. When we complained this amounted to $450 per hour for a semi-skilled, non-licensed worker pounding nails on our roof, and it was OUTRAGEOUS and OPPORTUNISTIC, RT manager 'J' just responded that it was a quote for the work (A LIE), and wouldn't reveal any rational basis for the charge. In addition, as yet RT has not repaired their damage to our driveway and a subsequent complaint process with the BBB in Tacoma yielded effectively no helpful response from J. In short, we as retired senior citizens feel strongly RT pricing is also PREDATORY and their business ethics extremely poor. read more

Was disappointed in customer service and quality of work. I was charged $65 for a permanent anchor to attach to my roof. Other companies had their own that they used and removed. It is questionable whether it was even used The roof treatment was sparsely and randomly thrown on roof top and one pitch side had none. I had skylight Windows cleaned ( $10 each)that were poorly done. I spoke with Jason the Mgr/ owner? Twice He claims that all roofs are treated that way and refused to acknowledge the side totally missed. . I did send pictures of completed work so he saw what I was talking about Jason offered to send PAblo back out however to hang a hanging plant back up. Lol. I said no thanks. He stated that they were not in the window washing business but he would reduce the statement to reflect that. Pablo did clean up debris well. Wish I had used a groupon for way less money and stayed home to inspect work afterwards. Not the worst but not the best service. read more

Having used this company three times in the last three years I have become increasingly disappointed in their performance. The man they sent out to do the work was surly and difficult to talk with as I tried to relay a couple of trouble spots in the roof. He left the deck, the gutters and my large windows a mess. He failed to complete the one task I had specifically asked him about and, had I not arrived home early I would have missed him, leaving the house a mess and the job unfinished. In addition, without asking, he used up my entire recycling bin, leaving no room inside for any additional yard residue. When I called Jason, he promptly reminded me that I had complained last year as well. Then he argued that "everyone else loves the guy that came to your house". He also made a point of telling me that Roof Therapy is not a window washing concern, nor a gutter cleaning concern, nor a deck cleaning concern, effectively telling me that it was OK for them to leave a mess. In his defense, he knocked $60.00 off of the bill. Jason, you may not understand this but I would have gladly paid that and more for 1. A job professionally completed and a serviceman who was not surly and unapproachable. 2. For your not assuming that my recycling bin was available to you without my approval. Note to Jason: I pay for that bin, not you. All in all a poor performance worthy of note. I will not use them again. I suggest anyone thinking of using them seriously consider another roofing firm. read more

oct 2016, I finally found someone who understands shack roofs. jason came out and inspected my 25 yr old roof {which was built with #1 heavy shakes] gave me a bid and did exactly as promised. power washed roof. replaced 7and a half bundles of worn shakes and two weeks later came back and oiled,preserved and stained. the work was quick and efficient and they really cleaned up after the job was complete. I am really pleased to have found Roof Therapy and highly recomend them. read more
