I read this palace has boards for steel darts. I love the dart boards and the lighting and seating for league play! I didn't try any food but the Heineken on tap was horrible! That being said I can always beat a bottle of beer but to find a place to play darts is difficult. Ron's Pub has just gotten a new face lift!! Come Check out their new modern digs! I believe Ron's was established back in 1987 so I much needed update has finally come! It's a local bar in the area and has the feels of a Cheers! Super friendly staff there! They typically have Pizza but currently due to the upgrades they're temporarily put that on hold but not to worry! They have Cliffs Hamburgers next door and they kindly deliver next door! Super good burgers and Frito Pie! I highly recommend this bar if you like shooting darts this is the place to be!! read more

Honestly, the reviews I'm seeing about Ron's pub are nausiating, as some of them go back 15 years! Trust me, the ownership of this pub changed mid 2025, and has been transformed since then. The customer base has more than doubled in that time. That should tell you far more than negative reviews I've seen posted of late, and I've been going to Ron's Pub since 2012. I'm convinced some folk delight in rubishing this pub purely for click bait. The list of beers is awesome and the prices are in keeping with other places locally. The restrooms are new and clean. The bartender Josh has an issue with women. I've heard him walk up to a women and AGGRESSIVELY kick her out, and the lady next to me commented how over the line that was. He was inches from her face. unacceptable! He needs to be fired. Now that there are new owners the place is being renovated and I used the women's bathroom which they turned into unisex bathrooms and there was urine on the floor, it's disgusting. Won't be back! Josh is a total dick and I'm not going to use a bathroom with garbage on the floor and urine on the seat. NASTY!!! I gave it 1 star because of Mathew and Jacki who are great. read more

Was five stars, but is now likely going to one star. This is one of the few true "neighborhood bars" that exist in this part of Houston. Pizza is elite and service is exactly what you'd expect out of a local watering hole. However, the new owners are apparently renovating and turning it into a "higher class" establishment, which does nothing for the working class patrons that have kept this a Fountain View staple for years. If it ain't broke, don't fix it....and Ron's Pub certainly ain't broke! read more

All I can say is, I tried. I tried to give my local bar a chance. I tried to come in and have a great time and relax and have a glass of wine... I tried to spend time in my local pub just relaxing with the positivity that I usually bring. I tried to overlook the sausage fest that was going on and Take it as a positive note...I even thought to myself, "wow, there sure are a lot of guys here...nice." I tried to enjoy my glass of Chardonnay and the atmosphere. I tried to ignore the misogynistic comments from a couple of men who approached me...After all, I was a stranger to them. The bartenders were very nice to me, Until... I went to the ladies room and walked in on a fight!! I reported it to the staff and they told me I was lying. The people fighting came out of the lady's room (They were men) ...They denied fighting to the staff. #TheRealLiars I tried to ignore the broken glass on the ladies room floor from the fight ...but it was still there...So once again I reported it. I tried to ignore the negative comments and mistreatment from one of the bartenders when I reported there was debris in the lady's room from the "fight"...He said " the fight that didn't happen? Just pay your tab and leave lady" I then asked, "Why should I leave? I haven't done anything " I continued to sit there and watch TV and sip... I watched the crowd...specifically, the people who were fighting. They were still arguing, but, they took it outside...yay I called my Uber and Made a conscious decision never to return. #Sigh read more

I really enjoyed this pub. My friend and I came in late after wanting to check out the spot on a random weekday. The good think they are located in a plaza with plenty of parking. The location is right next to Cliffs burgers and across the street from a HEB. The only down fall about this place is they don't serve food but they do allow you to bring in food. I also went to Cliffs burger next door and the delivered to me in the pub. This place allows smoking on the patio and they have a wide range of beers on tap. I felt the drink prices were very affordable and the crowd is neighborhood relaxed. Overall I would definitely come back it a low key dive bar. Definitely worth stopping by if your in the area. read more

I hate to be the oddball yelper and had been the one to receive less than stellar experience but I cannot explain why and what happened. Came here on a Thursday night with a fem friend and did not know what to expect. I envisioned it as a semi quiet place but boy was I way off. Besides the what seemed college frat crowd in the 2nd part of the bar in the back that could be heard loud and clear with their cheers the music in the first part would have one almost having to talk at an uncomfortable decibel or cup your hand and speak to someone's ears. If you like semi loud to little loud then here is your place. Strike 1. Got to the bar part and was not sure what we wanted I asked my friend what was her poison, she felt like a draft so we took a small moment to view the somewhat dozen draft beers offered. She had the Heineken which she said was nice and cold while I felt like a Guinness (draft). I think there might have been a problem with the line because the 1" head of beer that I got turned into more than 3/4 of the glass or more like 6 inches of it. See photo to see what I am talking about and how this was served to me. I must have had 50 Guinnesses in my life and have never been served anything more than 2 inches from the top, is this the new in? No worries, wait 3 minutes for suds to go down and play catch up with your partner. Strike 2 Bartender.... I hope this was not "Ron" but this had to have been the most stoic bartender that I have EVER run upon in my life. Remember the look of the soup Nazi in "that" sitcom everybody knows about? Well I found out where he works now, at least for this particular night. We felt as if we were doing a disservice to here by trying out a place that I heard a lot of good things about. I conferred with my friend about this and she agreed that it seemed as maybe we didn't belong in "the neighborhood" bar where everybody else knows someone else. Strike 3 As far as some of the reviewers saying it was a sausage fest here I felt there was a fair amount of females here to negate that for that night. I think we counted at least 8 including my friend in contrast to the about 30 males here. Also be prepared to pay about $11.50 just for two draft beers, I forgot the price of my somewhat favorite Richmond Arms Pub but at least you get some semi smiling female bartenders to tend to you. Like I said, I know I am going against the grain and I really did want this to be at least a 4 star experience since it's a block away from work but I think I'll pass up 20 bars/pubs to get at least one decent experience at any place. Mouldoon's Patio was our friend that night (semi quiet). Hate me if you will and I probably will get a lot of hate messages but rest assured you will be ignored. I have a right just to my opinion on my experience and I know you probably didn't like it if your a regular Ron's Pub crowd. Forgive me Ron, nothing personal. read more

Has been a local neighborhood gem for years. Nice beer selection along with a full bar. Informal atmosphere, perfect for after work. Front and rear patios with TV's and smoking allowed. Nice English pub vibes. You must try their pizza!!! Delicious :) they serve it til 1 AM. read more

Ron's was a nice environment for St Patty's Day. They had $5 Guinness and free stew for early patrons! Plenty of patio space to walk, talk, and visit with friends. They had quite a few TVs to watch March Madness games too. I probably wouldn't come back for awhile though because the crowd was (generally) 35 and up, and I felt a bit out of place. This place is a gem. Definitely an authentic pub experience with people who are actually people and not a bunch of pretentious knuckleheads. Plays good music from classic rock to hip-hop. If you get the opportunity I recommend you ask for Moriah as she has quite the balancing act and won't leave you hanging for long. Jeremy is also cool too! All in all you get college crowd to old timey Houstonians who love to reminisce about the good old days and everyone in between! So if you are a transient there are many social etiquettes to emulate in order to assimilate to the culture (this IS the culture to aspire to be). They also have dart boards and clean bathrooms (always a plus!) and television always pumping Houston sports!! (Which btw we are f***ing awesome at.) Wow. There are a lot of dudes here. Of all ages, shapes and sizes. Too bad they're all facing the dart boards. Service was good, considering we were planted right infront of the bar. A few TVs showing sports, another with CNN and a small one with trivia. On a weekend parking in the strip center is tight, but luck have it I always find a good spot. Clean restrooms, mixed crowd, two bar areas, patio, carpeted floor inside (err, strange for a bar), lots of seating. Will I come back? Maybe ... if in the area ... or not. read more

A neighborhood bar that leans heavily to regulars. Different nights bring different crowds and decibal levels. Some nights are dart league tourney nights, some nights are watch the big game nights, and others are quietly sitting around muttering to your beer kind of crowds. Just depends on the luck of the draw. Service is friendly enough when it isn't crazy busy. Crowd is usually 5:1 men to women ratio. Like I said before, the majority of the people drinking here on any given day know about 90% of the other patrons by first name. Come here enough and you'll be added to that crowd easy enough because they seem to run the gambit of age race shape etc. Good for a beer in the neighborhood when the urge arises and plenty of room to find a spot to sit and chat. read more

Perhaps I was a bit harsh in my original review. Everything I said about the crowd was true that night but the second time I came there, I was at the bar area (near the dart boards) and the bartender was cool as hell and while I still had to watch out for flying darts, it was a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Bonus points, I noticed that they actually have a bar dishwashing machine type thing and with the flu season coming up, that's a very cool thing since a lot of bars just dip their glasses in dirty bleach water and dirty water and call it clean. read more

We came on Saturday to have a chill evening and play darts but it did not happen. After we sat at the bar to get drinks we got hit by 3 different older men looking for 'fun' in a very rude way. After we got our turn to play darts, the same men were harassing us while we played the game. We run out of there. Very bad experience. That was not a place for us. We are both married and wanted just to have a good time. Giving 3 stars only for the service, bartender was good. Drinks are ere fine as well. I really enjoyed it here. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but if you enjoy playing darts or a more casual dive-bar type feel this is your place. There is a decent amount of seating in the 2 rooms - a front room and a back room that has 4 dartboards lined up with great lighting. They have a decent amount of beers and I really enjoyed their draft selection. I haven't seen Sierra Nevada on draft before! Only complaint is that in the back room there is a door open to a patio where a lot of people smoke. Although the bar itself is non-smoking a lot of the smoke does filter in. This was especially an issue for someone in my group with asthma. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in the Galleria area and want to have a casual experience. read more
