I have a 2010 Chevy Equinox that they installed a Cloyes timing chain kit several years ago and it failed 10k miles later. Even with covering the cost of the timing chain the bill would be $4k. You would think between them, O'Reilly's and Cloyes would cover some labor. read more

I'll start out by saying I wish I'd read the reviews before taking my vehicle here. I brought in my truck which was driving fine but I wanted a quote for a catalytic converter because the guy I got it from had said it may need one and the check engine light was on so I thought it would be a good idea to have it checked. They confirmed that the catalytic converters were okay but they also had a list of things they saw that needed work so I went ahead and approved those repairs. Mostly old hoses and such. After that, it just went downhill. I got the truck back and suddenly had new and serious problems including a coolant leak so bad that my radiator was completely dry in less than two days. I brought it back in for a very expensive repair only to bring it home to find the coolant leak was still present and equally as bad. After yet another expensive repair I went to pick it up and the check engine light was on so I went back in and inquired and they pulled out all of the paperwork and that issue had been highlighted on my very first visit and I had asked that they handle that the second time I brought it in but it had been missed. The thing is.. if they had apologized and offered to take care of it, or if they had waived the diagnosis fees after their first failed repair, I might feel different. But all I saw was a lot of miscommunications and no regard for the customer. I will not be returning and will be finding someone else to finish the job. Although I live in CA I my Son lives in Kalispell and uses one of my vehicles at times...I have had Ron's do work on my vehicle as well as my sons vehicle. We have always been delighted with the work and fair rates for repairs and service UNTIL now...my son took his pick up in for estimates and was quoted $1800 for repairs ...there was no notification from Ron's about starting repairs and after 3 days my son went in and asked what the status was and no work had been started nor any attempt to ask him if he wanted work started. He stated he did want the work done and last Friday I get a call in California from Becky telling me my vehicle was ready be picked up. I informed her that she needed to Call Mateo as it was his vehicle. My records show I received her call at 16:00 hours PST which would be 5PM Kalispell time...apparently she contacted Mateo and informed he could pick up his vehicle on Monday as they were closing and that it would be $2100 .... $300 more than quoted... Monday when he goes in to pick up the vehicle Becky informs him the cost of repairs was $2900 .... unbelievable! Neither Mateo nor I have had any experiences like this since we started using Ron's in the past. I told Mateo he should have insisted on speaking with Ron and find out what has happened to the business to warrant such a radical change in Customer Service. Fortunately this Apple fell a but further from the Tree which is probably a good thing for Becky...Needles to say we will not be doing any more Business with Ron's ... really sorry to say... So, where do I start? I had some abnormal front tire wear, so I called them for an alignment and to fix a minor issue in the front end. There was another mechanical issue that I told them about and told them what part needed to be replaced. Since it was going to be in their shop I asked them to quote replacing the part. I dropped it off and received a call in a couple hours with what needed to be fixed in the front end and that they wanted $640 to replace the part I told them about. I advised the gal that it's a $115 part and takes literally 5 minutes to replace, so NO you won't be fixing that. Additionally, she said their exhaust guy looked it over and determined I needed a new exhaust gasket at the cost of $250, they got a hard NO on that as well. I showed up to pay and what was supposed to be a bill for $235 was $360. They decided to charge me a $105 diagnostic fee since I wouldn't let them fix the part that I diagnosed and identified for them?? I then told them I wanted the discount they were offering, screenshot attached, and instead of $36 dollar discount as per their add they would only take $20 off. But wait, it gets better. I'm looking at my vehicle a couple weeks later and see that 1 of the 2 nuts on the exhaust manifold had been back off about an inch?? So, either they started "fixing" the exhaust gasket and stopped when I didn't give authorization or they were going to charge me $250 to tighten a nut. Tightened it with a ratchet in maybe a minute. This all adds up to 6 minutes of my time and $115 for a part saved me from paying them an additional $890. If I wasn't as knowledgeable as I am I would have been taken advantage of. read more

They blew the head gasket on my car after I dropped it off. Had no problems in the days leading up to dropping off the car other than a fuel injector issue that was diagnosed at another garage that I trusted 2 weeks prior. My mistake for taking my car to Ron's. I wish I could give no stars. I will find out what they did. Was told to bring the car in at 8am for a radiator change. The manager stated the car would be ready in 3-4 hours. I called at 11:30 to be told by the receptionist that they had not started and she didn't know when it would be ready. I show up at 5:00pm to get the car and they informed me that they did not "get to it". The receptionist could not give any explanation except to say "I don't know". I asked for the manager and waited 15 minutes for him to come out. THIS is the guy in charge. He was unable to maintain eye contact and had no explanation except to say "I don't know". When asked why someone didn't call to inform me... "I don't know". There was never an apology or a promise to get to it first thing in the morning. I have never dealt with two more incompetent people in my life. Take it there at your own risk. read more

Our family was traveling through Kalispell when our 97 VW Eurovan started sputtering and causing some concern for us. We were weary travelers (Mom, Dad and two kids under 10) near the end of a 4000 mile road trip across Canada. I showed up at 8am at Ron's, and within an hour Chad had the van on the lift replacing the catalytic converter. Once that was completed there were still some error codes, and he then had the tech replace plugs and lastly, the ignition coil (which needed to be imported from a neighboring town!). these guys are totally incompitent,installed my leaf springs on the wrong sides.these guys did'nt even know there is a right and left spring.when I got home I noticed the truck was'nt sitting level.I checked the part#s on the springs and realized they were on backwards.this is an alignment shop that does'nt even know how to install leaf springs.when I went back to talk to Ron about the problem he was extremely rude and wanted to charge me again to do the job right.I would'nt take my wheelbarrow to these guys for repair.I would rate this business 0stars. read more
