Seafood Fettuccine Alfredo

Pretty good Italian spot for Hampton beach. They've got something for everyone here! Nice atmosphere and good drinks. You do have to go up a flight of stairs to get to the restaurant tho.

Fried cheese ravioli
Michael R.

We were hoping for so much more. Ronaldo's was one of he hottest restaurants in the area some 20 years ago, but things declined and we stopped going. We heard about the new ownership and wanted to give it a try. Sadly, it wasn't all that good, and I don't see us returning. Many reviews complain about prices and they are high for Hampton, but on par for Portsmouth. That said, the atmosphere, service and food do not warrant the price. Yes, the portions are big, too big, ridiculously big, pasta entrees serve 4. Who wants that? I don't want leftovers and usually not everybody wants the same dish. Thing Maggianos where they put a platter down for a party of 4. That is what you get here. The fried ravioli starter was not as good as I recall from years back, but was tasty nonetheless. They do provide bread service at no charge, kudos, but the bread itself was nothing special. They do bring a few pieces of delicious cheese to accompany the bread which was a nice touch. We had a Caesar salad, which was also big enough for 3-4 people. It was just OK. Hard to say if the dressing was fresh or a doctored up bottle dressing. The spaghetti bolognese entree was ridiculously large, but the sauce had no depth. It was not a true bolognese. The other entree we tried was Eggplant parm, also too large and just OK. It was overwhelmed with perhaps a pound of pasta. We passed on desserts. If you have a very big appetite and like large portions and takeout for another 2-3 meals then this is your place. This is not what I am looking for when dining out.

Defunct gift card with vendor's logo

We had a quiet late afternoon dinner of veal saltimboca for myself and eggplant parmesan for my wife. The veal was prepared well with very little gristle and pounded into a fine cutlet. The sauce for the saltimboca was too watery with a vinegary taste. The eggplant parm was sliced to nice thin pieces with generous portions. The gravy for the eggplant parm was bland and the cheese topping a low quality Wisconsin-like generic mozzarella. Both servings of pasta were not al dente and too soft. Dessert was average with too much Hershey syrup on the cannoli and the cappuccino tasted strange. The cannoli shells were crispy with a nice ricotta filling. The service was adequate and polite. One major negative point was the proprietor's refusal to honor a gift card. According to the waitress the restaurant changed ownership two years ago and therefore the old Ronaldo's gift cards were not being honored by the new Ronaldo's ownership.

Seafood Mac and Cheese
Jim B.

We stopped for dinner prior to catching a show at the casino. I had the seafood Macaroni & Cheese. My friend had the frutti di mare. The serving size is huge. 2 to 4 meals even for big eaters. The food is very good. Party of 4, all were very happy with their selections. I have been to tons of restaurants around N. America, S. America and Europe. This Mac and cheese is the best thing I have ever tasted. I ate all I could, and finished about 1/3rd. There is so much shrimp and lobster. And the complex flavors are so delicious together. If you like seafood, cheese and pasta, you simply must go and try it.

The service is outstanding--professional, attentive, and they have a way of keeping the flow of food just right without ever making you feel rushed. The owner is incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our night feel extra special, which truly set the tone for the evening. The dining room itself is elegant and welcoming, with an open layout that makes the space feel lively and inviting. Because it's all open, it can get a little loud at times and make conversation harder to hear, but when we went toward the end of the night the atmosphere was quieter and even more enjoyable. The meal started with their bread--perfectly crunchy on the outside yet soft and fluffy inside, the kind you can't stop eating. The Calamari Fritti was hands down the best I've ever had: tender, melt-in-your-mouth, never rubbery, with a sauce that balanced savory richness and just the right amount of kick. Despite being fried, it felt light and satisfying, the ideal appetizer. For my entrée, I had the Ravioli di Aragosta, and I honestly can't praise it enough. The ravioli were generously sized and stuffed with flavorful lobster chunks--both inside and piled on top. Each bite was rich, savory, and carried that perfect seafood finish that lingered beautifully. Absolutely phenomenal. Drinks are another highlight--the bartender pours them strong and tasty, just the way I like them. And to top it all off, the desserts were gorgeous and paired perfectly with an espresso. I loved the thoughtful touch of including a rock candy stick, letting you stir in sweetness to taste or just enjoy as a little snack. All in all, Ristorante Molise checks every box: incredible food, warm hospitality, and those little details that make an evening memorable. I can't wait to come back!

My SO went to the restroom and the bartender asked me if we were celebrating anything and I told her it was our 7 year anniversary, she mentioned bringing something out for us, unexpected but appreciated. Meatball appetizer along with an appetizer size portion of a pasta dish, and the smoked duck small plate. All very good. From there it went downhill. Neither bartender checked in for about 30 minutes while we waited for our main course. Espresso rubbed duck was very flavorful and delicious. After the main nothing was brought out, so at that point I was a little frustrated so we went on our way. Food was great, service started good but then disappeared. Definitely would not return for an occasion.

Our waitress was exceptionally knowledgeable--not only about the menu, but also the wine list. Service at Massimo is always strong, but she genuinely stood out and elevated the entire dining experience. We started with the corkscrew pasta with wild mushrooms, finished with a delicate touch of shaved truffles. It was absolutely delicious--the sauce was light, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. It works beautifully as either an appetizer or a main course. For entrées, the pan-seared cod was as impressive as it was visually appealing--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The veal was also excellent. Their veal saltimbocca offers a slightly different and very enjoyable twist; instead of the traditional sherry, it's prepared with Marsala wine, giving the dish a subtly sweeter and richer flavor profile. I also highly recommend the arancini. You receive two per order, and they're outstanding--crispy on the outside and rich and satisfying inside. The atmosphere at Restaurant Massimo is both relaxing and romantic, making it an ideal spot for a special night out or an intimate dinner. Consistently great food, exceptional service, and a warm, inviting ambiance keep me coming back.

The Parker House rolls were savory warm perfection and a great way to start the meal. My entree, the gnocchi with duck confit was one of the best things I've ever tasted (though very rich--I had to bring half home). And I tasted my dining companion's duck breast an it was also delicious (which they concurred in thinking). The dessert special was a sticky toffee pudding with bananas foster ice cream and peanut butter magic shell and I wish I could eat it every day. The only downsides were that (1) I didn't love the dessert cocktail (which was also absent a garnish), but it could also very well be personal preference and it was only $7, (2) it was freaking freezing in the restaurant. We were seated in a corner that didn't seem to have any baseboard heaters, and even though we weren't far from the fireplace, there was so little insulation on the windows we were all egregiously uncomfortable. The service was great, with the waitress very helpfully answering all our questions and brining each course with perfect timing. The food itself is on the expensive side, though I thought the drinks were normal for a nice restaurant (my other drink, which I enjoyed, was $13). But for the quality of the food, it's hard to complain.
