My kids are 11 and15. My oldest is near completion of phase 2 with extensive work that included repair of a very bad overbite. My younger child had if the cosmetic corrections. Dr. Barnett staff has been courteous kind and respectful. They are always willing to help if we run into problems. When comparing to other orthodontists our care has been cost-effective and exemplary in-service. I was worried about the transition to smile Doctors but many of the same people stayed on and there of been a few comfort measures they've even improved with the transition. I've never met Dr Barnett. When we moved here, we were in need of orthodontic services. The reputation of this business among our neighborhood is unparalleled. Prices seemed to be inline for similar services performed in this area How could it be THAT good I wondered? But they were the best by all accounts. So I drag my kid in and find a big beautiful office replete with Keurig wares, state of the art orthodontic equipment and electronic record keeping. An extremely comfortable waiting area (for kids and adults) and a nook equipped with iPads for the youngest demographic. Luxury surroundings, so now my skeptical self knows how they spend their money...fooling people with the office space. And amazingly.....all of the staff are universally capable, competent, friendly, and excruciatingly polite, even under adverse conditions. One time I kibitzed some of the desk staff patiently helping a disgruntled parent who's child had to be rescheduled a third time because their child arrived for the appointment much too late to perform their procedure in the remaining appointment time....twice in a row. The parent wanted immediate action and did not want to be rescheduled...but the office has an obligation to the patients that are scheduled NEXT, don't they? Amazing patience and restraint was on display. And the professionals? Also competent, friendly, and very polite They talk directly to my 13 year old, instead of talking over her to me. Plenty patient and willing to explain what's going on to kids (often the patients) as well as the adults. I've owned businesses, and I've seen organizations that work well...and one thing is true in that regard: everything starts at the top. Because if the owner/manager doesn't REALLY care, then the employees can get away with not QUITE caring either, and all the customer gets is lip service and fake smiles. You won't find fake smiles at Barnett Orthodontics So in a sense, I guess I HAVE met Dr Barnett. Just not in person. read more

The pains of getting braces as an adult are made more tolerable thanks to the friendly staff and excellent support from Barnett Orthodontics. When I had a wire pop out during a camping trip, they saw me as soon as I returned and put it back in place. After every visit, I feel like the staff genuinely care and do what they can, whether it's by offering me ibuprofen after getting my braces tightened or wax in case of poking wires. My son has gone here for 2 years for orthodontic care (he has braces). The prices are reasonable (as much as they would be for braces). The staff is pretty friendly and attentive. So why the 3 stars? Because of the "Barnett Bucks" that's why!!! See Barnett rewards patients for taking good care of their teeth and braces - sound great right? Well, not really. Not when they promise a kid a $50 gift card, gives it to him, he goes to purchase something with the gift card at the store only to find out the gift card has $5 on it!!! Oh, did they say $50 gift card, what they meant to say is $50 "Barnett Bucks" which is an equivalent to a $5 gift card!!! They really need to clarify the "currency" to their children patients. Nothing worse than a kid thinking they have $50 when they only have $5!!! That's a low-blow Barnett, low-blow! read more

To begin, I was prepared to pay top dollar to fix my teeth, preferably sooner than later. I was promised that my teeth could be fixed easily and I would be in braces for about 6 months. I was also under the impression I would receive the advertised braces are were tooth colored and discreet in the front. I cried when I saw myself in the bathroom mirror, in my thirties with a black metal mouth! My eleven year old son used his father's orthodontist and had low profile, discreet braces that were of light color in the front. Fast forward, the permanent retainers I was given are huge, cumbersome, tin-man like that have huge gaps between the back of my teeth & the metal, making for sharp edges and great spots for food to be caught. Everytime I open my mouth, people can see the ugly silver tongue sore on the back of my bottom teeth. Lucky for me, I learned my lesson about replacing a permanent retainer at Barnett Orthodontics & went to a different office for my top retainer replacement where they gave me the much desired small wire permanent retainer for half the cost (and their office was just as nice). I cant wait to replace this bottom retainer that serves for nothing but to cut the tip of my tongue on every opportunity. read more

Dr. Barnett has been in the field for a long time. He is very friendly and knowledgable. He takes time to know who you are and puts a name to your face! ALL of his staff are friendly! I was a canadit for jaw surgery and wanted a second opinion. He suggested Damon braces to correct the problem, then surgery if the braces didn't work. The braces created enough room so no need for surgery. So, why the 1 star... when they took my braces off they broke 2 of my teeth and cracked a few others. And didn't bother to tell me until they finished taking them all off. I couldn't feel it because there's so much going on in your mouth your not sure what is happening. Then Dr.Barnett could only say I've never seen this happen before. He recommended me to a dentist and didn't even offer to help pay for my work that had to be done due to his negligence! One of the cracked teeth had to be pulled, another a crown, 8 fillings to fix the cracks.... needless to say I went back to get my retainer and have turned all my orthodontics over to someone else...oh and he didn't want to send any records... read more

My little brother had braces with Dr. Barnett 10 years ago, so when it was time for my daughter to get started with orthodontic care he was the first one we thought of. Our service has been excellent! The staff is friendly and always there to fix any problems (loose wire, pokey wire, bracket loose--my 8 year old is hard on her braces). Nice office, friendly enough. I was extremely disappointed in the fact that I had a broken wire that I needed replacing (took less than 5 minutes) I was told it would cost 70 by email and on the phone prior to my appointment. When I got up to check out, it was 85. I let them know I was told 2x it was 70. I know it is $15 difference, but gee honor the price I was told TWICE. Another thing was that my regular ortho called to say I should bump up one wire (016). I told them this on the phone. When they were putting on the wire, I again mentioned ghis. The tech told me they don't use the 016 there. Why not tell me on the phone so I could go elsewhere? ?? Instead, they bumped me 2 wire sizes. I wouldn't use them again. I will drive the 2 hours to my regular ortho. read more

Dr. Barnett is absolutely the BEST of the best. He transformed my daughter's smile and the health of her teeth have never been better. And with permanent top and bottom retainers, her teeth will never shift now! His office staff is awesome too, they are very professional and with their smiles and kind words, every visit was a joy. (I don't think they have bad office days around there. Lol) Everyone in that office just simply knows their stuff and it shows. Their price is slightly up from other offices, but trust me when I say that it's worth it. They go above and beyond, and everything is splendidly MORE than you would think to ask for. I would not recommend this guy. My first appointment he took a pano and went over the treatment plan. First he told me I needed to have teeth extracted but we would make sure further into my treatment. About a year and a half after I began my treatment the Dentist I worked for started noticing that he was protruding my teeth trying to make room for my bottom teeth to align correctly. So I made another appointment to stress my concerns. He told me that he is the doctor and never recommended extractions basically saying the Dr. I work for knows nothing. (Very hot headed Dr complex) so I went home and spoke with my boyfriend who is a dentist who by the way agreed that he was jacking my teeth way out, and he recommended that I get a second opinion from another orthodontist. The next orthodontist was shocked. And told me to stop treatment immediately. So I did. But now he moved my teeth so quick and so much the bone on my upper teeth is very thin and I have very sensitive teeth from him shaving them down to make room. Instead of doing the proper treatment he messed me up. Well now that I quit treatment with him I now have a 1,200 bill on my credit that I DO not owe this guy. Take my advise and run away from this office.. read more

The ladies explained they had been trying to contact me to reschedule but they did not have correct information. One of the Technician's volunteered to take care of my needs for this appointment. The staff is wonderful and they helped my son with his teeth which look amazing. They have made such a difference and Eric loved it there. The reason I am giving a 3 stars is because they disappointed my kid and I really don't like it when people do that. Nearing the end of their treatment they made two appointments the first was to change his bands and the second was to take the braces off. They made a big thing of telling him he would get his braces off on this date and asked if he was excited. When he went into the first appointment they said his teeth still needed to be moved and after that he did not trust what they told him included when they made the final appointment to get his braces off. You can do that with adults not kids. read more

We loved this place!! Everyone was so welcoming! Especially Scott at the front desk. He made my son and I feel special like we were the only ones there... Noah liked him very much even high fived him before we walked out the door. My son enjoyed the experience, they gave him a welcome bag with a t-shirt and some sunglasses, which he put on before we even left the building. But most importantly the business staff was very courteous and helpful. I finally got to sit down and a have a face to face consultation about my sons dental concerns explained to me in full. I had a really unfortunate experience with Dr. Barnett. After an associate I was working with was no longer at the practice, I decided to give Dr. Barnett a shot. After a couple of visits, I decided to interview some other doctors when things seemed extremely off. For example, I had gotten my braces in December and he said it looked like I could get them off in September. My smile and bite were not ok. When seeing another orthodontist he seemed shocked by this saying I needed at minimum another 18 months. He also was doing things that made me feel as if he never took the time to sit down and read my case after I was, well I guess you could say inherited when his associate left. I wanted to be listened for and cared for as a patient. After all, this is a really big deal for me and I have worked for years on this. If my braces would have come off in September, that would have been nearly $7k for 9 months of braces that were not well done. Leaving was the best choice I could make for me and my smile. I will say, swapping orthodontists mid treatment is expensive and not a decision to make lightly. You will end up paying more than if you had just stuck to your original pick.... but if I had stuck with the mediocre care Barnett was giving me, I doubt I would have ever achieved the smile I want. Be so careful and interview multiple orthodontists before making your choice. read more

I originally visited Dr. Barnett from 2007 to 2009 when I wore braces as an adult. It was a great experience. I returned today for a small adjustment, and found that the experience was even better. The staff was incredibly friendly and happy. It was very easy to get an appointment with Dr. Barnett, and the wait time once in the office was non-existent. I had barely sat down when they called me back. The experience once in the chair was great. They offer some new technology in their practice that makes the visit much easier than orthodontist visits of the past. I would highly recommend them from past experience but also from my experience today. read more

Both Dr. Barnett & Dr. White are great with kids. Dr. Barnett seems to be knowledgeable and wise when deciding what is best for each patient. I have 2 kids and both needed very different work. He even recommended waiting for my older son because he still needed to loose more baby teeth. Dr. Barnett appears to want what is best for the patient verses rushing into something and risking a second round of braces. All of the RDAs are friendly, skilled and knowledgeable. Since we spend most of the time with the RDAs I think it is incredibly important they be skilled and good with kids. So far the 3 that have worked on my daughter have been fabulous! read more

I got my braces off about a month and a half ago and I am so happy with my smile! The staff at the front desk, particularly Vicki and Scott, were always so welcoming and knew my name long before I could remember theirs! I also really loved the monthly contests the office held, even though I never actually won one. The assistants I had were so sweet and conversational too, and always made sure to pay attention to any of my complaints or questions - with the exception of one particular assistant who shall not be named. I took off one star because of the multiple times the date of my debonding was pushed back, which I realized was for the sake of my perfect smile but was still very disappointed to be told that I would have to keep my braces on for another several months again. All in all I would definitely recommend Barnett Orthodontics - appointments are speedy, the staff is friendly, and the pain is worth the gain! read more
