I've been a patient of Dr Magnis for a several years now and have no complaints. What drew me hear…read moreoriginally was positive Yelp reviews and more recently I transferred my kids too (10 & 8). I do not recommend this dentist office. The dentist who did my dental exam, Dr. Vivianna Hewitt,…read moredid not seem competent, nor did the office seem professional. Dr. Hewitt's proposed work for my teeth was excessive and unjustified. She quoted me almost $10,000 worth of treatments (or $16,000 without my EPO insurance plan discounts). The recommended work included 7 new crowns, although I had been getting regular cleanings and dental exams from a very competent dentist previous to my visit with her. She spent a long time reviewing the x-rays and photos of my teeth by herself in her office, while I waited by myself in an exam room. It would have been more appropriate for her to review them for the first time in my presence. She never introduced herself to me; I had not known that there was a dentist other than Dr. Destler who worked there. During my dental exam, she made derogatory comments about some of my existing dental work, which had been completed by very competent dentists. She mentioned replacing some of my existing dental work, because it was "old". The quote that was later provided was for replacing my existing old fillings with crowns. In addition, she said that three of my front teeth might need to be crowned due to a small cavity on each and because my front teeth were "thin". At this point she lost all credibility with me, the small cavities on my front teeth were repaired with composite fillings some time ago. Composite fillings are not new technology. The x-rays indicated that I needed a root canal, but I would never trust her to do anything other than clean my teeth. By the time that she was done with my exam, I was not convinced that she actually had a dental license (she does...I checked). She handed a long list of recommended dental work to the office manager, who then tried to pressure me into scheduling the work with their office, as follows: "Sit down and let's schedule the work. The root canal is urgent". This was quite presumptuous. A dental office should ask the patient if they would like to schedule the work, not demand that they schedule it. Per the ADA Code of Professional Conduct, "the dentist has a duty to respect the patient's rights to self-determination". Later, I saw another dentist in order to get a second opinion, even though it meant I had to pay out of pocket for the exam because 6 months hadn't passed since the previous exam. The second dentist agreed that I needed a root canal, but said that I didn't need to replace any of my existing dental work. In addition, both this dentist and the endodontist office stated that the root canal wasn't "urgent", since I wasn't in any pain.

I've been providing IT services for Kane and Kerper's office for over 13 years now. The staff is…read morenice, the Doctors are nice and they always pay their bills. They recently upgraded their Pano to a 3D CT and when I asked the doctor about anticipated storage requirements for the 3D he told me the expected number of 3D scans was going to be much lower than I expected. and I said "You're not going to scan everyone?" he said "Hell, no!" "CT scans product more radiation than simple x-rays and we don't want to expose our patients to any more radiation than absolutely necessary." I didn't consider that, but it opened up my eyes to the thoughtfulness that the Doctors pay attention to when treating their patients. These aren't the things people talk about or look for in reviews so I thought people should know.

To preface, the dentistry work of this practice/Dr. Kane is fantastic and I have absolutely no…read morecomplaints about the actual quality of work done on my teeth. For context: I have avoided the dentist for years (regrettably and stupidly) and decided to finally come in to get an exam, to which they made me aware of the many cavities I had. The estimated services as well as my first examination, were definitely pricy, even with insurance. After the initial consultation, it made sense to me to hold off to try and save up for all the work I needed done. Once I eventually came in, Dr. Kane proceeded to interrogate me on why I did not schedule an appointment sooner, basically telling me I need to get my finances in order to get the work I needed done (which all makes total sense!). I explained that I am only working part-time at the moment since I am also going to school, so saving up takes a little longer than it would if I was only working--Dr. Kane was not satisfied with this response and continued to pry + lecture me. Although his intent seemed good, the delivery felt invasive. I did not appreciate him prying into my financial status, then proceeding to lecture me on finances/getting dental work done and then telling me I need to get my parents involved to help me pay; he even had the front desk give me a HIPAA form for my parents to sign and offered to call them personally. I understand the intention with wanting to help but Dr. Kane made me feel ashamed for taking a few months to get the funds needed for very expensive dental work. I am uncomfortable with making my parents fork over money for my self-inflicted issues, yet Dr. Kane was very insistent on getting them involved. I liked the practice up until this point. I don't deserve nor appreciate being shamed for not having an extra couple thousand dollars on hand! Additionally (and unrelated the previous experience), the front office has the tendency to call upwards of 5 times, with voicemails and texts to follow in one day just to confirm an appointment. I think a single call, with a single voicemail would suffice.

After looking them up on Yelp, I decided to try them. I have been working with Dr Hahn and her team, including Callie and other hygeinists for their service. The office is super clean, pleasant and all the staff, including the front desk staff are super nice, friendly, respectful and kind. Dr Hahn and the team provide exceptional care and are super gentle, thoughtful during all the procedures, cleaning, x-rays and exams. I also am paying a one time yearly fee for the services provided which I believe is very reasonable since my insurance did not cover this office and other PPO Dentists. I believe that it is an exceptional value and highly recommend this team any dental needs.

Imagine your teeth chipping away only on one side. My husband always felt self-conscious about his smile. Hubby asked Dr. Wallace what he could do about his smile. Dr. Wallace gave him all new teeth. I do not know the technical terms.. idk if they are veneers or caps or?? Hubby's teeth were shaved down to little bits. Then the new teeth were put on over the former teeth. This was a few years ago and this review is long overdue. Johnny also loves Matt Wallace's personality. They both love surfing and have a love of UFOs or X-files. Anyways, Matt Wallace is top notch. No, that's not all!!! Here is my story. My story is about Stacy. Stacy is THE MOST AMAZING DENTAL HYGENIST that ever walked the face of the earth. She only works there on Fridays, I believe. Why is she so amazing, you ask?? I have issues. I gag a lot. I forget to breathe. Perhaps, it is being at the dentist anxiety, IDK. I always feel embarrassed during and after my visits. I still visit the dentist every 6 months even though I have/had this issue. First of all Stacey is calm. If I start to get gaggy, she has me do yoga nose. It is a breathing technique that calms me down. The way that she uses that scraping utensil and the water tool are truly minimally invasive. Prior to Stacey, when the scraping part is occurring it just sounds so loud. The sound is my equivalent to nails on a chalkboard for me. It was a purely god awful sound. Stacy's technique does not come with these awful sound effects. She is calm. She makes me feel calm. She has a TV in the room that is on. It doesn't have sound, it is a way to distract one's self. I don't even need to look at it anymore. When there are chances to chat, we chat about travel. We love hearing about each other's adventures. You are probably thinking, this place cannot get any better.. Well it does. I love the office staff. As I was leaving yesterday, I shared some really great personal news. They all listened intently and cared about me. They clapped, and said they were so happy for me. I had a happy cry. I also love Dr. Liang. He also loves travelling.
