If I could give 0 stars I would. I have had nothing short of a nightmare experience at this dentist. I came in because I had a tooth that was bothering me, Dr. Gabriel did an evaluation and claimed to have found 3 cavities. I returned to the office for the 3 fillings and left in pain. The fillings continued to hurt even after two adjustments. I told the dentist I felt as though they would fall out if I flossed. She assured me that wouldn't happen. 2 months later and one of the fillings has fallen out DUE TO FLOSSING just as I had predicted. I have been in pain this entire time and refuse to return to that dental office due to the level of distrust that I have with the dentist there. I asked for a refund on the procedures because they have only caused me more harm. They didn't even address the initial tooth that was hurting. Not to mention I was quoted 3 different times for a wisdom teeth extraction. First $300, then $900 and then $1500 right when I arrived for the appointment and sat down in the chair. I left right after they told me that quote. I find it extremely unprofessional to misinform the patient on something as serious as the cost of services. The only solution I was offered was to go back and have another dentist repair my filling. I'm not going because god only knows if they will only further ruin my smile. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Felt nickeled and dimed from the first appt to the last. Shared my concerns with the billing person (I prefer not to mention names) when I last made arrangements for cleaning appts. Told her I think I'd just rather shop around due to the cost involved in simple cleanings that should have been 100% covered by insurance and she said fine and had no desire to make things right or to try and keep my husband and I as patients. I recently had several bad experiences at Marina Dental after many years as a client. Seems that since Dr. Hansen retired, this place has gone way downhill. I will never return here again and I am driving right past it on my way to my new dentist. A crown that they replaced 3-4 years ago, has become completely detached 3 times, beginning about 16 months after install. They glue it back and tell me everything will be OK....then it falls out again. After last episode, tooth became infected and very painful. Dr. Johnston(sp) recommended and performed a root canal in July 2020. The tooth never stopped hurting and recently became infected again. The root canal needed to be redone only 8 months later. My insurance company was pretty unwilling to pay for it again. And so was I. I filed a grievance with Delta Dental and some financial relief is apparently eminent. Nothing will compensate the pain and misery of these experiences. The thing that hurts the most is that for years I had great confidence in my dentist, Dr. Hansen, and now that has been replaced by financial burden and loss of security regarding dental work. Maybe new dentist will be helpful. read more

I had my first deep cleaning today, and I was not sure what to expect because I was told it would hurt. But after speaking to the Receptionist Rosemary, she assured me that it wouldn't. But that I might be a little sore afterwards. Rosemary was also very helpful with some questions I had regarding my insurance coverage. I leave for Norway in less than a week and have suffered with a broken molar for a few months, thinking at some point i would have the time to take care of it . Fast forward and I gave a call to Marina Dental and they saw me asap, thinking I would need to tooth pulled, however, I was told the tooth could be saved! I was so happy, they actually got me into have a root canal and crown the very next day( today in fact) . I had a very bad experience 10 years ago with a root canal and I cannot believe that I am saying this BUT, I felt NO PAIN, it was one of the most enjoyable dentist visits I have ever had, although I did have some slight panic at one point, it was due to my own fear , and Dr. Johnson was very understanding an explained everything he was doing. Dr. Johnson , his wife, and their whole staff are amazing, thoughtful, caring and friendly. They not only took an interest in my dental work but my life as well and I appreciate that just as much. I have no insurance at the moment ( yay independent contractor status) ) but they were able to help me sign up for a discount program and save me some money and i am forever grateful. I went to Marina Dental based on new dental insurance. I'd been having some pretty intense pain in a tooth that had historically already had work done on it, so I was expecting the worst when it came to this visit. I met with Dr Sandy Gabriel on a Tuesday, she did some tests on the tooth and made a plan for a root canal 2 days later. Today was that day. I made sure that she was aware that I have trouble getting completely numb with dental work and she took her time and did it slow and steady. No hurrying, no frustration on her part. She and the dental assistant, Ali, were more than patient with me thru the entire procedure. The both of them constantly made sure I was in zero pain and that the level of gas I was getting was sufficient. I really appreciated their small talk during the procedure. Their positive attitudes and "we can do this" work ethic really made this as enjoyable as possible. I give Dr Gabriel and Ali both an A+. Thank you for getting this dental-phobic big wuss thru it. Dr. Johnson, Dr. Moa, Mercedes, and the others in this office are very friendly, and they are outstanding in timely handling the needs of patients. They are not in a rush, they take the time to explain their diagnoses by not only discussion, but by showing the details on the x-rays, etc. - proof that many other dentists don't provide. Dr. Johnson saved a few of my teeth by redoing root canals and crowns (painlessly) that failed either by new cavities or poor work done by previous dentists. I called Marina Dental to schedule a consultation, which I was extremely grateful they were able to get me in on such a short notice.I had come in because I had a wisdom tooth issue that was causing a great amount of pain. The appointment itself was OK. The front desk was very sweet and so was the assistant-Thank you. However, the Doctor explained to me that I needed to get ALL my wisdom teeth taken out ASAP, which I explained to her I only wanted the two that were bothering me to be taken out... I thought to myself Hmm, if the other two are not being a bother then I would much rather have that done at a later time and save myself a few hundred dollars. At the end of the appointment I met with Liz who handles all the billing. I was given an estimate and was more than surprised to see how much this all was going to cost. I felt as she was pressuring me to get them all removed at once and not to mention I felt as she was not looking in the best interest of the patient but for the company. I explained I was full time college student and asked if there were any type of payment plans that they offered given it being extremely costly expense... I was quickly given a snappy and snarky remark by Liz as she said "Don't you have insurance?" I said yes. & Her reply was "Well umm there you go, there is your discount" I've never been more appalled by such a "professional establishment". Nonetheless, I am glad I did NOT peruse my business here as I went to another Dental Practice only to be welcomed with open arms and met with another Dental Surgeon who explained to me that my other two wisdom teeth were not at all ready to come out. Also, they are charging me 50% less than Marina Dental and have provided amazing bed side manner. read more

We have been going to Marina Dental since it opened. The whole office staff is fabulous and really efficient. I usually see Dr Johnson who is the best dentist I've ever been too but I've also seen all the other doctors as well and I like every one of them. Especially the newest dentist - Dr. Moa.
