They don't accept Gold Coast insurance. Website states that "all insurance is welcomed" which was kinda misleading. Gave 4 stars due to the fact the doctor emailed me and told me about the insurance not being accepted. I also told him to update the website about it. Dr was really nice about that too and said he appreciates the feedback. Really wish we could come here a lot of good reviews . Dr. Stout and his angels came to my rescue today performing surgery after a scheduling conflict with my regular dentist. These kind folks took me in the same day and made it all happen to complete the extraction... the same day!!! I can't say enough good things about Anacapa Oral Surgery. At 27 years old I needed to have all 4 wisdom teeth removed. The bottom two were impacted and I was nervous about nerve damage. I had gone to another oral surgeon who was absolute shit (check out my other Yelp review for references on that loser who dared call himself a doctor). Dr. Stout felt heaven sent to me, along with his entire staff. I had several people reccomend Dr. Stout and rightfully so. I was so skeptical going in for my consultation because of multiple other horrible oral surgeons I've encountered and Dr. Stout and his team puts them all to shame. Every single one of them at Anacapa Oral Surgery had an immense amount of hospitality, kindness, patience, and took their time answering my questions and addressing my concerns. They reassured me beyond relief. When the day came to have the surgery, the informed consent was way better than almost any medical office I've ever visited. Made an appointment last week to have a wisdom tooth removed. They said it was 50/50 if I could get the consult and extract in the same day but that they would schedule me for a window where that was possible if the doctor felt it was appropriate. I came for the appointment this morning (15 minutes early). The staff at the front desk was professional and very nice. But after sitting there for an hour and watching several other people come in, and be taken in back prior to me, I decided to leave without service. Definitely will not go back. read more

I'm so done with this place. They changed my bill 3 different times. Two days before my appointment they called with the final cost or what I was told was the final cost of just under $4k. Then the night before my surgery at 4:30pm they call and said they needed an additional $1,500. I said I don't have any additional money so I'll need to cancel. With that they said I needed to cancel 2 days so I'll need to pay them $500 to cancel. It would have been $1,000 but I had already paid a deposit of $500. This is Robby plan and simple. Please go anywhere but here. You can have the exact same thing done for far che We will pass on calling. As we found others patients that this happened to. They are told one price and then they jacked the price up the night before the appointment. Just keep looking there are better doctors out there. read more

Due to a bike accident I needed the care of an oral surgeon on a Saturday in June during COVID-19...that felt almost as daunting as the injuries that I had suffered, and they were significant. Stitches in my upper and lower lip, teeth knocked out of position, a hole in my top lip, etc. I was incredibly fortunate that my on-call dentist called Dr. Stout. He met me at the office and treated me like I was part of his family. Every doctor and dentist that I've seen since has marveled at how well he had patched me up and how well I was healing. I was pleased myself, but to hear other professionals give such high praise really drove home how truly fortunate I had been. I have adult braces, and I needed 6 teeth pulled. At first I wanted to go a cheaper route and go to a dr on saviers in Oxnard. But because I'm spending so much money on my braces, I thought I should go to the oral surgeon my ortho suggested, and they suggested Dr Stout. Upon my consultation, Dr Stout told me that my extractions would be no worse than getting my braces tightened. I didn't believe him, because 2 teeth were fully impacted, 2 were partially out, a permanent in the roof of my mouth, and a permanent that shows. The day of my surgery, they took me quickly. And had a lot of anxiety and I took 5 days off, cause I was anticipating pain and to be swollen. Can I tell you, being knocked out for extractions is fabulous! The 20 seconds before I passed out was the best feeling I've ever felt!!! I woke up easily, and I was home no more than 2 hours after I got there. I had no pain! I was not swollen! I'm shocked. I don't know if it's cause of me or cause of Dr Stout?! This was the best dental experience I've ever had. Getting my teeth cleaned is by far worse. Dr Stout and his staff are so nice and accommodating, I will forever be recommending them. If you need oral surgery, don't go the cheap route, go here! You will be so glad you did. read more

Don't waste your time looking anywhere else!! I did, when the perfect doctor was right there all along... Dr. Stout!! :) I am probably the most frightened, annoying and apprehensive patient that any dentist would have the misfortune to encounter. I had a REALLY bad experience with a dentist in my younger years that left me scarred for life. Seeing Dr. Stout was my first trip back to the dentist in 12 years (yeah, I know). My wisdom teeth had bothered me off and on for almost 4 years when about a month ago I couldn't bear it any longer and I had developed an infection. Dr. Stout's team was so kind and caring, getting me in for an appointment last minute so I could get some antibiotics until my surgery. The x-rays that were taken seemed very "state-of-the-art" which put me at ease, since my bottom wisdom teeth were very deep in the gum and I was VERY nervous about removing them. I originally only wanted to remove the top two that were bothersome, but Dr. Stout recommended I take them all out and was very educated in explaining why (I needed his guidance since I was in so much denial to begin with). Even though many family and friends recommended him, I still searched around. Why? I don't know. The other offices in the area that I visited were dirty and the staff very non-compassionate. One receptionist in another dentist's office was even talking badly about a man who had an extraction the day before saying that he was 60 years old and being "such a baby"! I couldn't believe it! I did NOT want to be treated this way. I'm glad I looked around so I could be confident in choosing Stout's office. Dr. Stout's compassion and professionalism are unmatched and I am two days out of removing all 4 wisdom teeth typing this! They suggested I sleep, but I have so much energy! I feel pretty damn good (not nearly as bad as I thought it would be). How his staff put up with my moodiness and extreme fear I will never know (thank you ladies)! A special thanks to Kara (or Cara?) for talking to me over the phone before my surgery. She treated me with kindness and did not judge me, answering all of my silly questions. Dr.Stout is amazing! Everyone in the office was super friendly and made sure I had all of the information before going in for surgery. I broke a wisdom tooth, and they were able to schedule me quickly to get it extracted. On the day of surgery, while looking at my X-Rays Dr. Stout noticed the dentist who took out the wisdom teeth on my other side had left a piece of tooth in, and offered to take it out free of charge! My daughter was referred to Dr Stout for wisdom teeth removal by our dentist. The initial presentation was professional, the office is clean and comfortable. The office staff were pleasant and attentive. Dr Stout gave the impression that he was confident and trustworthy. He appropriately addressed our questions and concerns. As I always do I checked reviews, which were great. Her surgery was scheduled for a Tuesday, which went great... And continued to be uneventful until the third day. Let me first say I have one of those rare teenagers that completely follows instructions... In this case the postop instructions. This is where the experience descends. Friday she woke up to inter tractable nausea. She could not stop throwing up. She called the office and they said it was likely due to the narcotic pain medication, despite the over the counter anti nausea medication she was taking. So she stopped taking the pain medication as instructed. Friday evening it continued, again called the office after hours, Dr Stout reiterated that the pain medication was the cause and it would take time for it to "get out of her system". So she continued to take Advil and Tylenol and Dramamine as directed. The pain increased over the weekend, which was expected, however without any tapering of pain by day 6, we again called the office, thinking that possibly something was wrong. We were "handled". She was to that maybe it just is taking longer for her to heal, is "she following her post op ect?" They would call her the next day to check on her, and that Dr Stout would not be in the office until Wednesday. Meanwhile my daughter is on and off in tears, fighting to stay positive and not complain, missing soccer practice, school and church well after Dr Stout said she would be able to return to physical activity. Tuesday again we call and make an appointment for the next day in which the only available time was in the afternoon. Dr. Stout was half hour late getting to us, again the staff berated my daughter regarding post op instructions, which she had followed. Followed by Dr Stout disregarding that in fact she had dry socket.... And reprimanded her for stopping her narcotic pain medication..... Which he had told her to stop..... Even though pain medication will do almost nothing for nerve pain. I am completely angry disgusted by the way this Doctor treated my daughter. I don't know a lot about oral surgery, but I have been a critical care nurse for 17 years and I have a clue about how things like this go. And we were handled and disregarded and mistreated. Improvement of his service would include making routine postop appointments. Bringing the patient in on the day when they are having problems. Have a back up doctor when he goes on vacation. Compassion for the patients and the parents. Anyone who is a parent understands the heartache a child in pain causes. read more

This facility was amazing. I first went to a different oral surgeon (Cole and Clark) for wisdom teeth removal and I did not feel welcome there at all. The surgeon spoke to me for maybe 2 minutes and never once even assessed my mouth. When I went to Dr.Stout's office the entire staff was so welcoming and kind. During my consultation I felt welcome to ask any questions I had and I ended up being there for over an hour and they happily answered all my questions. Dr.Stout assessed my mouth!! KEY HERE!! On the day of surgery I was very nervous about the IV insertion and being able to feel things during but let me tell you the IV felt less than a bee sting and I was OUT for the entire surgery.
