He's also hilarious and very laidback so he promotes a fun and welcoming environment. Him and his son Gage make sure everyone is taken care of and will pair higher belts with those that need help, and watch out for everyone so nobody gets hurt. Do not ever go to UFC Honolulu. Drive the extra 20-30 minutes and go to Kailua or Mililani. Waipahu even. UFC Honolulu is the worst (and most expensive) mistake I've ever made.

So I was able to use any equipment I wanted including a squat deck and a bench press. The gym is a little hard to find. It is on the third floor of Alohilani Resort. You need to get into the resort from Liliuokalani Ave. when you get into the lobby, in the middle, there is an elevator goes up to the third floor. You can follow fitness center signs, too. Usually I see it occupied by someone looking at their phone. My main gripe and what made me come and leave a mediocre review is the showers. 2 of 4 have been down for at least a month and one of the "working" showers is missing a shower head. It seems like things don't get fixed very fast. One month is too long. An ab crunch machine was recently fixed after about a month of being inactive. A cable machine had splayed cables and they put electrical tape on it. It lasted a few days and now that's been down for a week so far. Many times I see paper towel dispensers and spray bottle holders broken or completely empty. Trash cans full. Walls dirty with hand prints. Dirty fans. Rusty walls. Moldy showers with shower rings missing and crusty shower curtains (even though they just replaced the two shower curtains). It all adds up to make me feel like they don't care about the appearance of the place anymore. The staff is fairly nice, but the one woman I saw cleaning machines frequently no longer works there. I think more attention to cleanliness and broken machines and towel dispensers would really make the place level up. Getting rid of unused machines like the big fan bike and angled ab benches, then replacing those with another leg curl machine and maybe a fly machine would be a nice addition too.

I started to feel a big difference within the first two weeks of attending and the classes run Monday, Wednesday & Friday. I had more energy. I could feel more muscle mass and even though the class is only half an hour you get an intense work workout not only cardio but muscle building. Before I started, I was in the worst shape of my life, always getting sick and feeling fatigue most of the time . The gym is very clean, spacious and organized. All of the equipment is in excellent condition and clearly well-maintained. They use Eleiko bars and combo racks, which are competition grade and the gold standard for serious lifters. You can tell this space was built with intention. Parking was simple with designated spots for the gym and the location was easy to find even early in the morning. Overall, Ukiyo Hawai'i offers a premium training experience with everything you need for a great workout even if you are not a powerlifter. I would easily visit again next time.
