We were given popcorn for the table, which is a nice touch. I wish there were more cocktail options for happy hour since I don't drink rum. I came here especially to try their spicy avocado margarita and pistachio mai tai - I was particularly drawn to these two drinks because not only do I love anything avocado and pistachios but how rare it is to see such combinations. We were here around 7:30 on a Saturday night and there were plenty of open spots inside. Our drinks came quickly and looked absolutely fab! However.... the avocado and pistachio flavors were missing from the respective drinks. I was super disappointed as they just tasted like any generic margarita and mai tai. While waiting for our table at PDT, we decided to kill some time at Romeo's across the street. To order drinks, you have to go to the bar though. I got the Pistachio Mai Tai ($20), Thin Mint Shot ($13), and a Guinness ($11). The drinks were all quite disappointing and overpriced. My Mai tai didn't really taste of any pistachio and it was overloaded with ice. The thin mint shot was just a minty shot with an Andes mint. The hotdog was loaded with toppings and came with potato chips. The pizza bagel bites were topped with tomato sauce and lots of mozzarella. It was a full size bagel and delicious, but a bit pricey for only two pieces. The cocktails have hits and misses. The pistachio mai tai is my favorite so far. I came here today to check out their Christmas overlay! Romeo's turns into Gnomeo's for the holidays. I went to Romeo's for the first time while they are running their holiday pop up Gnomeo's. I showed up as soon as they opened so I was the only one in there for a while. Stumbled upon Romeo's when walking around East Village! People seemed like they were having a good time, so we wanted to check it out! The pistachio mai tai was very solid with a decent pistachio nutty taste! The spicy avocado marg was also pretty good! While the avocado flavors could have been stronger, it did give the drink a creaminess that complemented the tajin salt and spiciness. The milk punch unfortunately didn't really have a strong favor profile of anything. They gave us free popcorn, which was seasoned and not too oily! The place itself isn't too big but there are some high table tops, bar seating, and a small area in the back that can fit about 6 people. More seating options outside but weather dependent. Loved the pink neon lights that gave the dim setting a warm, trendy vibe! Can definitely see it becoming more popular soon! read more

Ugh really upset. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have fun drinks and this place could be a vibe but we saw two roaches on the wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We notified the server and she was helpful and killed one of them. We didn't expect anything for free or ask for anything. We understand that this happens as it gets warm. BUT after that, the server added a 20% auto gratuity to our bill (3 people) and didn't clarify that to us, so additional tip was added. Overall not cool. I'm not one to leave a review but I was super upset about this. Hopefully they fix the roach problem and don't add gratuity on when the service wasn't all that. read more

Everything we tried was really well balanced, which means you may not get the bite you might be used to from certain spirits or mixers. My favorites were the Guava highball, refreshing, fruity, savory, citrusy and not too sweet. The Penicillin Mezcal sour, the egg white foam was perfect and a nice spin on the OG drink. Elote old fashioned was fine but a little on the sweeter side for my taste. Currently there is no wait service so you order directly from the bartender. There is also a HH from 4-7p M-F. Such a cute spot for drinks and a little bite with some girl friends or to pregame a night out. All the drinks we got were amazing and they continually brought out little bowls of rosemary popcorn for us to snack on. The vibes in here are so pretty with pink neon lights hung all throughout! Came here for the Gnomeos Holiday Bar. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unfortunately the bar is typical St Marks hipster BS.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the St Nicolas Pumpkin Spice Old fashioned (as did someone at the bar with me) - neither included the photo of Nicolas Cage (which is the point of the cocktails name). They were also out of the French Onion Dip and veggie dogs. For a bar with a menu limited to 7 items, being out of ~1/3 of them is tough. It was pretty early in the evening too. We ended up getting the popcorn, pizza bagel and hot dog. The popcorn AND the hot dog were cold. Not warm, as if it had "been left on the counter a few minutes too long" but, cold as in "hadn't been heated long enough". Aside from all this, the drinks are VERY expensive considering the quality. The old fashioned should be priced closer to $12, not $20. Unfortunate as everything is good in concept but the execution was lacking.
