Without getting into too many details as it is a private and unfortunate situation, a family member had a room in their home that had basically been destroyed by someone over the course of years with various types of filth. It was so trashed that the carpet was unsalvageable and the room smelled so foul that the odor was noticeable in other parts of the house. After the carpet was removed, it was apparent that the floor beneath had also been damaged. The carpet having been removed was in no way a solution to the problem as even the walls and baseboards were beyond filthy and the room still reeked to high heaven. In trying to help with the situation, I was tasked with figuring out how to get this room cleaned and sanitized and with doing so immediately. I searched for deep cleaning services in the area and Romas came up. I called on a Sunday afternoon and after providing some basic information and getting an estimate, they were able to schedule an appointment for me for the very next day! Let me tell you, I felt truly mortified that anyone, hired or not, had to even see this room, let alone take on the task at hand. Additionally, I unintentionally threw the Romas associate for a loop because I was told by my family member that the room was empty (no furniture, etc.). When I arrived and the Romas associate arrived, it turned out that there actually WAS furniture in the room and she had to deal with that unexpectedly. She immediately and clearly explained that since furniture was involved, there would be an additional fee, which I was completely okay with. She set about her work while we stayed in the living room/out of the way. Two hours later she came out and the room looked AMAZING. I was almost speechless at the change from the time she went in to the time she left. I was honestly not sure whether the cleaning would be sufficient (NOT because of any shortcomings on Romas' part, but simply because the room was so utterly disgusting). But the work she did was a small miracle. I think it is worth mentioning, in case anyone needs to know, that Romas did request a cash payment (which is fine by me) but they did not provide any sort of invoice. It was simply a job done and cash handed over, nothing more. For me this was okay, as I have no need for an invoice, documentation or description of services for my records but if you do need anything like that, I recommend asking about it ahead of time. I only have one criticism or bit of feedback, if you will, for Romas. That is that I felt a little bit skeptical/concerned going in because when I called the business number listed, the greeting was simply a guy saying "Hello?" He did not greet/answer the phone using the company name and I thought maybe I dialed the wrong number. I had to ask if I was calling the right place and if I could discuss possible services. That does not strike me as overly professional and it did start things out on a dubious note for me. But it seemed apparent once the conversation started that it was a legitimate company, and the man was indeed helpful and able to answer my questions and work with me in a difficult situation. All of that said, THANK YOU, Romas, for finding a way to provide us the help we desperately needed so quickly and for doing the job efficiently. I would definitely use Romas again in the future and I confidently recommend their services! :) read more
