I'm giving Pink Sponge 4 stars for my recent experience. While $255/month is a bit pricey and the staff consistency can vary, Frankie was fantastic this time around. She did an incredible job on the details, she even cleaned the baseboards and was careful to put everything back where it belonged. The kitchen (sink and counters), bathroom (toilet, tub, and fan), and all the rooms (including ceiling fans) are spotless. If the service was always this high-quality, it would easily be 5 stars. I hired Pink Sponge for a deep clean of my 1,000 sq ft condo and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. 1. Miscommunication from the Start I reached out via text and requested a deep clean, including walls, baseboards, and the garage. However, when the cleaner arrived, she was under the impression that only the walls, baseboards, and garage were expected. Because of this miscommunication, she spent the first 20 minutes on the phone with her office trying to clarify the scope. Eventually, I told her to just start the job, and that if she needed more time, I would be open to adding extra hour. 2. Understaffed and Poor Value Maybe it's just me, but in my experience, cleaning crews usually come in pairs -- especially when charging by the hour. In this case, only one person was sent, and I was not informed ahead of time. I later learned that if they had sent two people, the price would have doubled -- again, not communicated upfront. Also, that would mean paying almost $600 for a 1000sq ft condo?! 3. Unacceptable Quality of Work By the 2.5-hour mark, she claimed to have finished cleaning the kitchen, two bedrooms, and two bathrooms, yet none of the rooms were vacuumed or mopped, and many surfaces were still dirty. I'll be uploading photo evidence of the work that was left undone. When I asked she said bedrooms surfaces are not wiped and no vacuum, so in reality at this point she has only half way done with 2 bathrooms and kitchen What stood out even more was that, during my inspection, I noticed the door frames were untouched, even though I had specifically told her in the beginning that I wanted all doors wiped down. When I pointed it out, she responded (I'm quoting her exact words)-- "I have to be told to clean that." Then she asked, "So do you want me to clean it?" -- it was frustrating that something so basic had to be requested again after I had already stated it. 4. No Resolution from the Office I reached out to the office with a detailed explanation of what went wrong and sent photos showing the issues. At first, I was told a refund request would be submitted on my behalf. But after a few emails back and forth, they stopped responding entirely -- no follow-up, no accountability, and no resolution. 5. Unprofessional On-Site Experience The cleaner took a lunch break at 11:30am., just 2.5 hours into a three-hour job that started at 9:00 a.m. I understand that W-2 employees may be required to take breaks, but I was hiring a crew for a project, not managing an employee's shift. What felt unprofessional was that she left the house for 30 minutes, with all her tools and equipment left scattered throughout, with only 30 minutes of working time left. It disrupted the momentum of the job and didn't reflect the professionalism I expected. I understand that running a small business is not easy. That's why I didn't post this review right away. I gave the company a chance to resolve it. I explained everything in detail over the phone, provided photos, and was very clear about why I was disappointed. At the end of the day, all I wanted was a response. If they believe this is the level of service they stand behind and that charging $267 was fair, I accept that -- and I have the right to share my experience publicly. But if they believe a refund is appropriate based on the actual quality of the work, then they should have taken actions and at least communicated with me. read more

The owner personally visited my home and quoted $510 for 3 hr job that should take no more than 4 hours with 2 professional cleaners. Instead, it took 8 hours, disrupting my workday. One worker was professional and did most of the work, while the second seemed inexperienced, so the results were really good/satisfactory, not stellar -- I even stepped in to clean my own stovetop burners when the newer worker struggled. While the owner did honor the rate, she reminded me it was "an estimate." I had agreed to 2 cleaners because a single worker from this company previously took over 8 hours, so I expected 2 professionals to finish in half the time. I would never have agreed to an open-ended job at $150/hour. Overall, the workers did a good job, but one was pretty tired . Not a good fit for o. Jennifer came to my house the day after I request a quote to do a quick walk through and asked us what we were looking for in their services. She was so kind and I immediately felt like I was talking to a dear friend. She won me over talking about the volunteer work Pink Sponge does in their community. Valerie came and cleaned our house a few days later at the scheduled time and again we felt like a friend was popping in to say hello. She cared for all our immediate cleaning needs and was such a pleasant person to have in our home. We had fallen very behind on deep cleaning the bathroom and the kitchen because of our work schedules, and we always love seeing the pink beetles around town, so we called up Pink Sponge. We had a phone call and an appointment scheduled quickly (they walked us through our options and we knew it would be a major job to scrub our disgusting stovetop, so we chose a custom deep cleaning). Jannis arrived and got right to work after we showed her what we needed done and the tools we hoped would help her cut through an extremely gross amount of grease. She worked tirelessly for HOURS and when she was done, our bathroom and kitchen were cleaner than we have ever seen them! It is true that Pink Sponge is probably a bit more expensive than an unlicensed cleaner, but we found the rates to be very reasonable and we support living wages for employees (not to mention Jannis did a better job than any individual cleaner we've ever hired previously). I liked the results so much that I inquired about regular cleaning. Jennifer came for a walk through and to quote a price. It's cheaper if you become a regular customer. It was my first time ever using a cleaning service to help clean my house before an event, so I was a little nervous and didn't know what to expect. Communication with Jennifer was easy. She booked my appointment, explained the process, and emailed me a checklist to help prioritize what was more important for me to have cleaned. I was told I would have the cleaner for 3 hours, she may or may not be able to get through everything in that time frame, but we would do walk through at the end and I would know then if she wasn't able to get to something. The cleaner (can't remember her name) showed up on time and got right to work. She ended up getting to EVERYTHING on my list and then some. I was mostly in my backyard doing yard work to be out of her way, and as the 3 hour mark approached, I went inside to be available for the walk through only to find that she had already left. No walk through, just a note on my dining table. I figured maybe since she got to everything she didn't need to, but I was under the impression that it would happen regardless. I was very pleased with how she left everything so sparkly and spotless, particularly in my kitchen and bathrooms. It wasn't until later that evening that I noticed my microwave had a crack on the vent that wasn't there before and coincidentally it was not functioning. Mind you, I had warmed up my coffee earlier that morning so my microwave was in working condition earlier before the cleaner showed up. I understand accidents happen and the cleaner may or may not have realized, so I reached out to Jennifer and I was impressed by the customer service I received. She worked with me right away to try to make it right and kept in contact with me until we got the microwave repaired. She was so great to work with and I'm very thankful. We paid for the 3 hour service in a three bed room town home. We ended up with still misc stuff in the carpet the vacuum did not pick up. Counter tops still had debris on top even though they were requested to be cleaned off. Cabinets and drawers in kitchen weren't touched. The scheduler was very nice on the phone. However for a deep cleaning of my parents' home they only sent 1 cleaner and she did an awful job! Dust everywhere and only half the house was cleaned. They had us fill out a whole list of which room to start in and other special instructions, yet the cleaner did not follow it at all! So disappointed. Never using them again.
